I love hearing how Germans feel about us, and thank you for highlighting our problem with our native population - it is almost taboo to talk about how our native are treated, which is so sad considering how generous so many people in Canada are.
Each country in the world has pros and cons. I was reading that in Germany and the neighboring Austria percentage of recycling of wastes is one the highest in the world and much higher than that of both Canada and USA. I think that all countries and people have great things and can cooperate to have a better world.
Yes. I love returning the plastic bottles at grocery stores. Although I am sure other stats for waste management would show Canada may be better. In the UK they don't even take empty glass bottles back for liquer or beer! In Canada, they do and you get a deposit back...which most people use to buy more haha
@@j2174 Depending on the location, we pay a deposit on milk jugs. Most of the time though in our house we use milk bags, something that is apparently a Canadian-specific thing. They're kinda wasteful though as we can't recycle them in our area of Canada, just the outer bag that contains the three inner pouches.
I wanted to see what Germans thought about us and I got a little sad when I didn't see subtitles for the language so I was gonna watch the video anyways but then I saw the subtitles under the German ones and got happier
Canadian here. My wife and I went to Germany last summer to attend the Wacken open air metal festival. I can honestly say that I have never felt so welcome and safe in any other country. Wonderful people and a rich history. Castle's, cathedrals's and of course the Autobahn made for the best holiday of my life. The only problem I had came from a drunk little Norwegian man that asked me where my accent was from. When I told him he yelled "fuck the west" at the top of his lungs. Lol. Okay bud.

I wonder if modern day Germans are aware how many Germans settled in Canada... quite a lot. Present day Kitchener-Waterloo used to be called Berlin (the name was changed back around the time of the war.) My great-grandfather was born in New Germany, Ontario (now called Stevensville.) His mother and her family came to Canada from Germany in the 1880s. Lots of German heritage in Canada.
Curiously there is still a New Germany in Nova Scotia and Nova Scotians never seemed to have had much of a problem with it during or after WWII. The original settlers in that area were German and to this day they still have a distinct accent different for all other places in Nova Scotia. It is known as the Lunenburg accent. Also, in Nova Scotia, if you see a place or street name with Dutch in it is probably was originally Deutsch. I don't believe this was a slight to German people. It was just a typical English lack of knowledge of the German language and they probably substituted Dutch for Deutsch quit innocently.😀
I am from the Whitby Oshawa area and we always thank our bus drivers, Why not they just gave you a ride, you thank the taxi driver, why not the bus driver, It is the Polite and Canadian thing to do !
Nikki Lyka When someone applies to Canadian immigration online , many seem to be on the waiting list as tens of thousands of people in the world apply to Canada and Australia. It looks like the grass seems greener on the other side of the fence and many persons view other foreign countries as better than their country of origin...
That's very true. In general though what I mean is we always have the U.S. shadowing us as far as news and what people talk about. Rarely does someone ever think of Canada or mention us other than it's cold and we're nice. Which I don't mind at all, just an observation after having lived in the U.S., and having been born and raised here in Canada. And yes, the grass is greener syndrome definitely happens for a lot of people.
Nikki Lyka In Lebanon, my country , it is also a country of immigration that has great welfare system like healthcare , job opportunities , and good economy .Yes , it is usually known for its cold weather but Canada is one of the largest countries by area and has a variety of natural climates and multicultural societies... Neighboring countries all over the globe influence each others more directly in many ways but I think all countries in the world are wonderful and special. God blessings.
the only thing i think we in europ can think badly about Canada is their imigration policy about not taking refugees however only taking imigrants that the country find usefull for them.
I went to Croatia and anyone who heard us speak thought we were American, and when we told them we were Canadian, some people just thought there was no difference between us and the USA (including my cousins), and some people became friendlier towards us. I hope to go to Germany soon!
imaproducabruin - "Nope, they didn't actually become friendlier. You may have confused it with being surprised because they don't come across canadians as much as americans." Have you ever actually travelled extensively? I very rarely come across people from the US, and when I do they are wear fanny packs, are talking about their own domestic politics, or ordering food they can easily enjoy in the US. And no, areas where there are US military bases don't count as travelling. There's always at least one Canadian everywhere you go.

One thing that some people say about Canada is that we say hello, how are you like Americans, and we say it so much that people think we are being fake. That is not true though, it’s just a simple greeting to show that we care and are interested in meeting you (or serving you if you are at a restaurant) it’s also like an ice breaker if you get what I mean. But I guess I can see how foreigners might think different. Also we in Canada do say sorry a lot (I’ve heard they do a lot in England as well) and people think that’s fake too but we always say sorry even if it wasn’t our fault JUST IN CASE IT WAS so we can let the person know that we know. For example if someone had their foot out and you tripped on it and said sorry usually the other person would notice that they had a part in it too and say sorry as well. No harm done, simple mistake, move on.
I am also Canadian and a UofT student and half of my family lives in Munich and I visit them almost every year since I was a baby and I definitely prefer the German quality of life and German culture over Canadas :)
I couldn't help but notice that even though many of the Germans spoke of stereotypes they were also aware that they were stereotypes. So nice... I have sometimes wondered in the past if everyone visited just the interior of British Columbia (impressive nature, bears, etc.). Yeah, our country is far from perfect and has its problems, too. Perhaps compared to some other problems happening elsewhere in the world, it's not always bad to be 'boring' or otherwise 'unheard' of in the news in comparison.
And in Santa Catarina state there are several villages where German is still spoken and one where the now extinct in Germany Pomeranian dialect is spoken by everyone! One very remarkable characteristic about Pomerode is the fact that 90% of its residents speak German, more specifically the East Pomeranian dialect. In Pomerode, as in some other localities in southern Brazil (Santa Maria de Jetibá, Espírito Santo, among them), the German language is not a foreign language, but a Brazilian linguistic regionalism.
Super Episode!
I'm American from the south shore of Lake Superior. I agree with the comments insomuch as I take them as being directed toward rural Canada. Truth is, rural Canada isn't that different from rural U.S. But, I was shot at by a road-rager in Toronto because I was slowing him down driving in a snow storm, in the dark, in a construction area. That's never happened to me in the States.
gotta admit i am loving the image that we give off as Canadians. and yep all these Germans are correct, i am super chill and relaxed. honestly i have zero stress in my life, and i won't be around people who are. i see no point in being upset about anything.
Well, there is a thing called toxic positivity. Trying to cancel out all negativity from life detaches you from reality because reality can be grim. There is darkness and we shouldn't suppress it.

I'm an Indigenous Canadian and am proudly a part of the Indian problem. I'm also a sixties scoop survivor/warrior, my parents, grandparents and great grandparents were in residential school. I encourage European people to take a native studies course.
lazyperfectionist1 Germany is better at both recycling and producing cars. For information about recycling, I have done research on internet though I have never been to Germany.
I find Canada to become supermix of European social state standard and US frontier lifestyle, with all positives factors but negatives ones as well: what I heart and watched in movies on latter is high unemployment, multicultural correctness pressure, trades pushing too hard, indigenous and some other groups trapped within the culture of poverty, and, you cannot move around the towns easily the other way but by car. Hopefully, there is no Canadian Trump rising to replace Trudeau.
Ontario is supposedy moving forward with a high-speed rail between Windsor and central Toronto. They shoud definitely extend it to the Kawarthas and/or Kingston, up to Ottawa-Montreal-Trois Rivieres-Quebec City
You can move around the towns by train and car relatively easy for example Toronto to Montreal, Ottawa etc but it becomes difficult when you want to drive from Vancouver to Winnipeg for example. But that's just how every large country is, it is the same in places like Russia or Brazil.
Canada is pretty far behind on high speed rail infrastructure, there is no reason we should continue to rely on the slow Via Rail, we need bullet trains and a lot of them. Imagine being able to live in Montreal but commute to Toronto every day and it only taking 45 minutes. Its a shame no government has this in their platform.
The problem with VIA though is that the no longer have their own tracks, they share with commercial/industry, so it delays them a lot of the time. The government should invest in the rails again - and by a lot.
The distance between Toronto and Vancouver (4,300) is the equivalent between Moscow and Lisbon (4,500km) and that's only 70% the width of the country. Going between cities by car or plane is the easiest route. For getting around town I do wish the cities were built more pedestrian friendly, which is why I prefer European cities for their walkability and transit.
Canada is a great country to live in...sometimes it sux being native american here because of some racist jerks but thats just the world we live in..we have no hate in our hearts

How did you enjoy it?
I loved it! Have you been there?
I am from There :) I hope you could understand our accents haha
How many moose did you run into...literally ? :D
Paddy
There are many moose on the mainland, sometimes there’s one in the city. (At least in my city anyway, once you leave the concrete it is forest and forest
Fun fact: largest oktoberfest festival outside Germany is actually in Kitchener, Ontario.
i have never heard in any of these cultural videos on youtube, a man commenting on how great a country's cloudscape is ... kudos to that man lol
Ha ha... yeah, I wondered about that too 😂.
I love hearing how Germans feel about us, and thank you for highlighting our problem with our native population - it is almost taboo to talk about how our native are treated, which is so sad considering how generous so many people in Canada are.
What treatment they were talking in immigration part ryan?
It's hardly taboo, it's talked about constantly on news, in the papers, on YT and in social media, etc.
@@silkeotd7194 like native people are discriminated or what?
@@Knockthefout I'm saying the situation with the Native people is discussed quite a bit, it's hardly taboo.
The natives are treated good now. Move on.
Thank you Germany
God bless you and greetings from Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Love Canada from Germany
I wanted to see what Germans thought about us and I got a little sad when I didn't see subtitles for the language so I was gonna watch the video anyways but then I saw the subtitles under the German ones and got happier
Kary , was du machst , ist einfach toll !
Vielen Danke !
herrlich...
Das freut uns :)
Lol. Okay bud.
@@LolbeeSFM i don't get it
How much fast u drove on autobahn? Are u a car guy?
No country is perfect but I consider myself blessed to have been born in such a country as Canada.
Very interesting. I was a Canadian Army brat growing up in Germany in the 60's and 70's. Still some of the best times of my life
EVERYONE LOVES CANADA! YAAAYYY. (Canadian here ;) )
You can be sooo happy! I loveee Canada 😍😍
I am a Chinese girl 🇨🇳 who is from British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦

Hahaha that was awesome! Never clicked on an Easy German video so fast!
I am an immigrant Canadian and I think Canada is the best country in the world 🌎
What is better in Canada than in your country of origin?
Can we connect with each other??
This makes me proud to be Canadian! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️🤍❤️🤍
That was very cool of them to mention indigenous people. Thanks from Saskatchewan.
Cool I’m from the north parts of Saskatchewan lol.
Great idea have more Europeans coming to Canada is something we want to have.
honestly as different as germany and canada are I truly think they are the most similar to us in europe. they are very easy to get along with
I can't get over how close the vowels sounds between German & French are. blew my wig back
I live in Canada and I honestly sometimes wear shorts during the winter
its true, i thank every bus driver i meet on my way out
I am from the Whitby Oshawa area and we always thank our bus drivers, Why not they just gave you a ride, you thank the taxi driver, why not the bus driver, It is the Polite and Canadian thing to do !
I'm Canadian about to go to Germany in 4 days for the first time, and this is the cutest video ever. Hahaha. No one ever thinks of us!

When someone applies to Canadian immigration online , many seem to be on the waiting list as tens of thousands of people in the world apply to Canada and Australia.
Nikki Lyka
In Lebanon, my country , it is also a country of immigration that has great welfare system like healthcare , job opportunities , and good economy .Yes , it is usually known for its cold weather but Canada is one of the largest countries by area and has a variety of natural climates and multicultural societies...
Neighboring countries all over the globe influence each others more directly in many ways but I think all countries in the world are wonderful and special.
God blessings.
the only thing i think we in europ can think badly about Canada is their imigration policy about not taking refugees however only taking imigrants that the country find usefull for them.
We take refugees up here, and were one of the first that were last year
I've been to Canada, the people I met were very helpful and friendly
We thank everybody for their work. From bus drivers to hairdressers
I went to Croatia and anyone who heard us speak thought we were American, and when we told them we were Canadian, some people just thought there was no difference between us and the USA (including my cousins), and some people became friendlier towards us. I hope to go to Germany soon!
Yes, you know exactly how those particular people felt while interacting with us because you were there right?
imaproducabruin - "Nope, they didn't actually become friendlier. You may have confused it with being surprised because they don't come across canadians as much as americans."
Have you ever actually travelled extensively? I very rarely come across people from the US, and when I do they are wear fanny packs, are talking about their own domestic politics, or ordering food they can easily enjoy in the US.
And no, areas where there are US military bases don't count as travelling.
There's always at least one Canadian everywhere you go.
Danke
No harm done, simple mistake, move on.
im acctully very happy that germans like our contry
and yes we do thanks our bus driver and we wont esitate to save somone in need
I am also Canadian and a UofT student and half of my family lives in Munich and I visit them almost every year since I was a baby and I definitely prefer the German quality of life and German culture over Canadas :)
We ARE a great country and have a diversity of cultures. We have our issues and we are working to improve.
Wherever i go to Europe, Canadians are always welcome . I am glad that German know so much about Canada.
Vielen Dank für deine Videos. Immer sehr interessant!!
Recap: Canada is a big, cold, relaxed country full of nice people and lots of nature
Super Episode!
Wow I have to say our German friends are much more educated than our american neighbors on our country
@imaprouduclabruin you Re so smart that you can build your own cars, oh wait
Canada is a great place! Visited that country, great people!
That's insane
gotta admit i am loving the image that we give off as Canadians. and yep all these Germans are correct, i am super chill and relaxed. honestly i have zero stress in my life, and i won't be around people who are. i see no point in being upset about anything.
Well, there is a thing called toxic positivity. Trying to cancel out all negativity from life detaches you from reality because reality can be grim. There is darkness and we shouldn't suppress it.
@@aeoization i don't mean it lie that obviously, i am referring to stuff like drama and such, that has no part in my life. why would i want to be around negative people. i am not one of them cancel culture people.
The guy wearing the suit and sitting on the steps I love his voice! He should read audiobooks.
Whoa boy! Good thing they weren't asking these questions about a hundred years ago.
Lol, yeah. I'm surprised no one brought up our blood feuds during both wars. We weren't exactly the nicest to each other during the wars lol. And we ruined their Christmas in 1915 by throwing grenades instead of cooked ham lol.
I'm waiting for someone to say "It's a bit of a dump." Just to be different.
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada is very much a German city, and before WWI it was actually named Berlin because of all the Germans who immigrated there.
no ,they were prisoners
As a Canadian, I don't really ever thank the bus driver unless I'm close to them...it's not to be rude, but rather that I feel too awkward yelling it across a bus full of strangers hahahaha
I still see people doing that and it always confuses me lol. I only do it if I exit near the driver
It’s so funny hearing about them talking positively about Justin Trudeau while five (?) years later most of Canada hates him.
I'm an Indigenous Canadian and am proudly a part of the Indian problem. I'm also a sixties scoop survivor/warrior, my parents, grandparents and great grandparents were in residential school. I encourage European people to take a native studies course.
Most of the world says they love Canada but then go to the US on a holiday and to study.
the part about thanking the bus driver in canada is bang on. so true.
1:15 oh boy.....
As a Canadian, I am so happy to see that
There is only one real disadvantage to Canada: their colleges and universities charge tuition. Less than the US, but it's still tuition.
lazyperfectionist1
Germany is better at both recycling and producing cars.
For information about recycling, I have done research on internet though I have never been to Germany.
And Germany has no tution fees. Cool.
lazyperfectionist1 So all the more reason not to be indoctrinated
Danke danke sehr Cary und deine Mitarbeiter!!
Das war ein sehr interessantes video. Danke Cari.
Canada is a great country to live in...sometimes it sux being native american here because of some racist jerks but thats just the world we live in..we have no hate in our hearts
