I bought the Lead My On album in 1988 when it came out. I was 15 at the time. I had started listening to Amy Grant around this time around '87-'88. I heard her on the radio with Peter Cetera on "The Next Time I Fall". Then I bought Amy's "Unguarded" album. When "Lead Me On" came out I bought it immediately. To date it's still my favorite album. The lyrics are raw on some songs. it's a very intimate album and the songs all reflect what was probably going on with Amy's life. She's pregnant in one of the photos on the liner notes and even as a teenager I thought that was so sweet to mention that the album was for her son and that he'll hopefully understand what went into making the record. When 1974 starts off I was hooked. It's such a nice rhythm and instrumentation. Just a pulse and strumming. I love the bridge also for the song. Anyway, just my thoughts and recollections. 1988 was a great year for me as 15 year old.
couldn’t agree with u more! i was 14 in the summer of 88. great year. i was an amy nerd since angels 84 at 9 years old! bought lmo on june 28th the day it came out. got home and we listened to it and were shocked at how different it was from unguarded. we called it her hippy album. 😂 after i few listens i was hooked. my fave amy álbum.
The first time i heard and listened to this song was in 1991 ,in my country uganda ,gospel songs were not easily found anywhere in the music shops ,the moment i landed on the album LEAD ME ON i bought the tape ,and since then i keep listening to Army Grant's songs ,they are so nice
When I was in high school, I was trying to figure out my faith. I was attending a retreat and someone was playing an Amy Grant’s Father’s Eyes record and I listened to it and it connected because you could tell she was our age and she let me know and that even the faithful still struggled at times. That gave me so much encouragement somehow.
Such a haunting melody...brings back vivid, wonderful memories of high school church camp. We'd sit around with our headphones, play our Amy Grant tapes, and sing our little hearts out. Thank you, Amy....
Dear Amy, thank you for your testimony, it is so awesome hearing that Jesus Himself walked into the hall you prayed in. I've been loving this song for the last more than 30 years, both the lyrics and the harmonies, which literally make you feel that it's about a different world.
Amy Grant ( Rich Mullins opener) was my first Christian concert. Ungaurded tour. I was invited by a church group in high school. I was a big fan of her music and I had all her cassettes up to that point and loved to listen to them as I painted. I wasn't even a Christian. Didn't even know what that meant actually. God had a plan for my life...Lead me On and Behind the Eyes are her 2 best works in my opinion. Gonna be cool spending eternity in Heaven with Amy.
CS HH 71s: I hope Amy goes to heaven, but she needs to repent of her hosting the same sex wedding of her lesbian niece, and for marrying Vince Gill while Gary Chapman still lives, for celebrating Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc.
I’m gushing tears hearing this amazing sister and her story. And to top it off with 1974… praise God. I know she takes a lot of heat for some views but the force of her ministry is what is needed now more than ever.
Are you crazy? Amy Grant has thrown away her Christian faith completely. She and her husband of adultery Vince had hosted the same sex wedding of her lesbian niece and has always celebrated Halloween, Christmas, Easter with all its paganism. She got tons of rebuke, but refuses to this day to heed correction. I love most of her music, but please do not be deceived by Amy.
I became a Christian in 1983 and...thank You Jesus...I haven't looked back. I know the day is young yet but GOD remains our Protection...here in England...wherever you are in the world...and we struggle on...through the pandemic...OUT of the pandemic...and hopefully not get run over by a bus. Good to read your comments. If I don't meet you soon I'll catch up with you later...with our Jesus. Big love to yuz... Celene Cranenburgh Xxx
Thank you so much my mother and I went to see Amy every year if she was close to us. My mother loved Amy Grant. Well, my mother passed away & this helps some of the grieving process. I must say this Christmas won't be the same at all. I can at least feel her memory through every song along with her beautiful Christmas music. We played Go rest high on that mountain at mom's funeral. Amy's husbands song the great Vince Gill. I am not able to go this Christmas and I am going to miss Amy & Michaels Christmas concert. I'm grateful Amy's heart surgery was a success because she is such an inspirational lady. Maybe I can afford her show next year close to Cleveland or Akron Ohio. In the mean time my daughter and I are enjoying Breath of Heaven to It's The most wonderful time of the year. God bless you!!!
I lost my Mom in 2014. We were also very close and saw Amy together. Kim Hill opened for her. I know it will be a happy reunion with my Mom in Heaven but it’s been hard being without her 😢
I've been listening to Amy Grant ever since I was 18 years old..1976. I remember my brother came home one year it was Christmas time 1985.. and he was asking everyone what they wanted for Christmas.. when he asked me I said I want a album of Amy Grant..and he said ok..Christmas Day he handed me my gift and he got me a cassette of Amy Grant's Unguarded Album..I still have it.. now yrs later still listening to her..Know so many words to so many of her songs..Thank You Amy Grant for the Music 🎶 ❤️🙏
Funny how meeting Amy back stage at a concert in Atlanta in the 90' kept me loving and believing in Jesus who HAS made great things happen in this life, and I am thankful so very much. Love you Amy Grant ❤🙏
As a youth pastor many many years ago, sorry Amy, Amy was one of the singers that I dialed the youth into. Thank you for posting this song, living a lot of memories as I listen.
What a beautiful person Amy is ..Amy Grant Heart In Motion is my favorite album. It is a feel good album .Every song is good .And I never get tired of listening to this album from start to finish.
Amy Grant I love your songs l grew up with you and have grown up with every word from you and my Lord and Holy Father who inspired you and I. More than a fan. I'm also your sister in Christ Jesus. Thank you for being you and for your singing and songs!
Amy Grant.....an amazing, beautiful, wonderful and Godly woman whom I adore! Her music, yes but also the woman. The integrity and honesty she displays in her music and interviews is obvious. Her family life with Vince and her children shows her love not just for them but for all people. Again, I adore her ❤
What integrity? Amy wears short skirts and other immodest clothing, had hosted the same sex wedding of her lesbian niece, celebrates Halloween, Christmas, Easter...And she does not repent of any of it.
I bet she and Don Henley avoid politics and religion in their discussions.😂 You never know who God will touch in any situation so there's still hope. Amy's a living, walking testimony.❤🙏
What! Amy Grant had hosted the same sex wedding of her lesbian niece. If that does not show you how hard Amy has fallen away from God, get a reality check.

You’re welcome. It was like we were in her living room listening to her.
Thank you for posting this.... Amy, may God continue to bless you and use you for His kingdom......
Hello ma'am I really appreciate your love and support over my mom's career 🙏💕
That "CorinnaGrantGill" that commented here is a Fake Scammer!
I was in the audience for this beautiful concert. I hope she never stops singing this song.
Thanks for sharing this.
Love hearing some of Amy's stories. I might have to visit that church. LOL

I wore out MT cassette and had to buy a new one😂
Amy, I remember an interview from LONG ago. You were telling your kids you wouldn’t be “relevant” for long. Loving that you were VERY wrong!
I stopped buying Amy Grant's music after "Behind the Eyes".
Such a haunting melody...brings back vivid, wonderful memories of high school church camp. We'd sit around with our headphones, play our Amy Grant tapes, and sing our little hearts out. Thank you, Amy....

I went to an Unguarded concert - I did not realize that was Rich opening! I didn't know him then!
🥰
Rich Mullens wrote "Love of Another Kind".

Sorry for the loss of your mother, but Christians are not supposed to celebrate Christmas.

...And Amy Grant's first album was in 1977. So what Amy music did you hear in 1976?
I was there too!
Loved the story!
Great story I really liked it.

Weird to hear a Christian just talk about their faith and not whining about their psychotic politics. Doesn’t happen much anymore.
AMEN AMEN AMEN
Now this is what all churches should be like …. More like JESUS ……..
That’s the Jesus I know! Come just as you are and give Jesus Christ your all and I mean your All! He will pick you up and take you on with him!
❤❤❤That's the Jesus I know too. His Amazing Grace pulled me from the pit, and I'll be grateful forever and never stop telling people about His LOVE.
I like Christian Artists and I am a Christian but is there really any money in The Christian Music Industry??
Probably not, unless Christians do lots of concerts and their songs sell very well.
God and Jesus and marry are love
Catholicism is a false cult. There is no Mary worship in true Christianity.
I bet she and Don Henley avoid politics and religion in their discussions.😂 You never know who God will touch in any situation so there's still hope. Amy's a living, walking testimony.❤🙏
