That Friendly Nutty Squirrel Named Conker It was revealed in a bonus feature in Rare Replay that Chris Seavor’s adult Conker voice is not natural, he had the composer Robin Beanland edit his voice clips to get the right pitch. I'm not much into kiddy stuff anymore but this looks like it would be fun to play. Hey i played through Kiwi 64 and that bat 64 game. So nothing stopping me from playing this to.
It's on someone's basement unfortunately, some people refuse to let go & preserve historical stuff like this and it's the same case with Resident evil 0 there's people holding on to it. And the best part is if this ever leaks out it can be completed & restored by the gaming community just like dinosaur planet, I really hope it does.... preservation is very important!!!
A lot of people tend to say that we missed out on a classic, but for me... I think Rare did a good choice when deciding to turn it into the M rated game it had become instead of just leaving it as it is.
As mentioned by others, other Rare games used some of the music. However, this game does have the pissing music from Bad Fur Day. It's one of the few things from Twelve Tales that made it into the final game.
SomeFluffer1964 I noticed that. Also, even though most of everything was remade from scratch, many of the characters and concepts made their way into Bad Fur Day. Berri, the hub world with the Windmill, a talking scarecrow, a purple dinosaur, an ancient world-type level, the usage of a barn, a gladiator battle scene. The list can go on. It doesn't surprise me that they were able to get a new game up and running in time for BFD's E3 2000 debut. They had most of the ideas and concepts on the table already. It was just a matter of refining the gameplay, rewriting the story, and redoing the 3D world and characters. I bet they even used the same engine.
They actually planned on doing that, but time, money, and/or tech prevented it from happening. We were so close to getting playable versions of Dinosaur Planet, Project Dream, and Conker 64, but it slipped through our fingers.
It makes me wonder how far along into development they were before they scrapped this and started doing BFD, because this looks like it would've been close to done.
Imagine if this idea was praised and Rareware continued with the developement. As much as awesome and nice looks, the Conker we all know and love never existed
I feel like the only person in the world who wants a kid version of Conkers Bad Fur Day and I'm like 25 years old. Unfortunately Kid Conker is not what I was expecting #microsoft
+burnsy96 Im trying to contact rare and nintendo to make this! help me, they cant advertize it through magizines...video clips or make a spin off game for the gameboy and not produce the game!!! if we get enough people and if i pitch my idea we could do this!
Honestly, if this game came out and bad fur day never existed We probably would’ve gotten banjo threeie, donkey Kong racing , and Nintendo probably would’ve bought out rare
God I have nostalgia of this without even playing it! It just brings back memories of Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64. I guess I just love the Rareware art/music style.
Best way to get this game is by finding someone who'd worked for the coding for the game. Maybe they have disc with the codes on like how Dinosaur Planet was leaked
The final product is miles better in comparison, although this does look good I’m glad they got bored with doing the same formula and decided to be R rated
I think Conker's running on all fours animation was reworked into his dance idle animation in the Rock Solid area in Bad Fur Day, because if you let Conker dance long enough he'll do the worm with his hands and feet and that's what I figure became of the animations where he ran on all fours, they became the part of his Rock Solid animation where Conker does the worm.
I just recently discovered this game and I believe it is one of the best games on the n64. It would’ve been cool to play this version but I’m glad they decided to go with bad fur day instead. The comedy is perfect! Feels as if Trey and Matt were involved somehow.
Sometimes I wonder what would've came out of this one. More so out of curiosity of course because Bad Fur Day was good and it was created from this. At the time, Rare was at their peak and seemingly couldn't make a bad game. So chances are this would've been solid too. Plus it looks nearly finished. Though elements of this are definitely in Bad Fur Day. So maybe everything here just got reworked and we essentially got similar gameplay but with a M-rated label?
Jesus, how close to completion was this? You can say that changing this to a more "hardcore" approach since 3D platformers at the time were oversaturated, but Bad Fur Day didn't light the sales charts on fire either. This looks really damn cool. Some classic N64 shit right here
While I really like the CBFD Rare and Nintendo logo intros I honestly think the best intros Rare would have ever made would have been this on Twelve Tails. It looks Dreamcast good and runs at a steady 30 frames, damn impressive!
Did people criticize this because they thought the cutesy nature does not equate to a good game? It could’ve been challenging since the Donkey Kong games made by Rare were anything but easy. And this was teased before Banjo Kazooie came out, and we all accepted that game with open arms.
No, it was because it was there were too many kiddy platformers at e3 98 as in e3 97 conker actually got some pretty positive reactions but in 98 we had banjo, spyro and Rayman 2 all at the same show and the press thought those looked far more interesting and outclassed what the conker team was making so yeah, in context of what the gaming scene was like in 98 i can see why someone would feel twelve tales would seem underwhelming.
@@sonatadusk9 what hurts it even more was that the n64 cartridge that had the game is unique because once the game is ejected, the file is destroyed to prevent leaking
This to me would have been an obvious great game had it been released however I'm very content with BFD. The fact that many are saying they would have preferred this instead of BFD would probably be saying how interesting and unique BFD would have been if it was BFD that was left on the shelf instead of TT. I can see the already picture the comments now. "BFD looked so mature and different than any other Nintendo game man Rare missed the ball with this one". It's always easy to judge a game after the fact but I feel BFD's direction paid off.
While I’m glad they ultimately went the direction they did, this is one of the most fascinating and enticing beta versions of any game I’ve seen. I’d love for it to leak one day
So, there are worlds where Conker had to find a letter N, some where he would find a B, and there's also a U. _The letters, Mason, what do they mean?_ I dunno, BONUS, maybe?

SiebayRoo Fun fact, that’s the same voice actor as his adult voice in Conker’s Bad Fur Day.
That Friendly Nutty Squirrel Named Conker
It was revealed in a bonus feature in Rare Replay that Chris Seavor’s adult Conker voice is not natural, he had the composer Robin Beanland edit his voice clips to get the right pitch.
Chances are that they did the same thing for his original young Conker voice as well.
That Friendly Nutty Squirrel Named Conker It surprised me as well, some people can impersonate Conker naturally.
I love how you see that some elements in this game were kept in BFD, like the speech bubbles, the scarecrow and the windmill.
And Conker's head model and tail
And the sunflowers
I'm dying from the cuteness omg I would have loved this game
Me as well, but honestly still would've preferred bad fur day.
I'm not much into kiddy stuff anymore but this looks like it would be fun to play.
Hey i played through Kiwi 64 and that bat 64 game. So nothing stopping me from playing this to.
This game looks so...polished and complete...why don't we have it?!
Because people hates kid friendly games. And rare had to cancel it to make bad fur day
It's on someone's basement unfortunately, some people refuse to let go & preserve historical stuff like this and it's the same case with Resident evil 0 there's people holding on to it.
I agree!
Puberty punched Conker in the face!
As well as his girlfriend Berri
@@Dzuno18 Yeah, except she got shot instead of punched.
In Soviet Russia, puberty hits you!
I want to play it so badly :(
Me too.
Me three (Sorry I couldn't come up with anything to say me too but still I really wished this game was released 😢😢)
Me 4
Me 5
Me 6
I love Conker very much, I just wouldn't say no to another full game from Rare's hay-days!
And then, everything changed when he met alcohol!!
Man, I wish I at least had the music to this game... It's really good. I know it's based off of the music from Conker's Pocket Tales, but...
As mentioned by others, other Rare games used some of the music. However, this game does have the pissing music from Bad Fur Day. It's one of the few things from Twelve Tales that made it into the final game.
Jon-Erich Smith the fish, the dancing sunflowers, and the conker fruits made it into BFD.
0:29 Mr Krabs running noise
I think rare replay should have allowed us to unlock playable prototypes, I for one am a fan of this cute design
They actually planned on doing that, but time, money, and/or tech prevented it from happening. We were so close to getting playable versions of Dinosaur Planet, Project Dream, and Conker 64, but it slipped through our fingers.
Chris Seavor did a good job with this high pitched cartman voice
It makes me wonder how far along into development they were before they scrapped this and started doing BFD, because this looks like it would've been close to done.
Next time, I don't want Twelve Tales to be replaced with Bad Fur Day. I want both of these games the next time, Rare.
I would say the same. BFD is a cool game, and this looks pretty good too
"the next time"
what next time
It's a shame that this game was never released. They could have have released it a gave it a different story from BFD.
Luckily that's what Conker's Pocket Tales is for. Although it is on GBC
Imagine if this idea was praised and Rareware continued with the developement. As much as awesome and nice looks, the Conker we all know and love never existed
I really wish we got Twelve Tales Conker 64 instead of Conker's Bad Fur Day
I feel like the only person in the world who wants a kid version of Conkers Bad Fur Day and I'm like 25 years old.
Unfortunately Kid Conker is not what I was expecting #microsoft
+burnsy96 Im trying to contact rare and nintendo to make this! help me, they cant advertize it through magizines...video clips or make a spin off game for the gameboy and not produce the game!!! if we get enough people and if i pitch my idea we could do this!
stephanie k Should make a petition on change(dot)org or something lol
+burnsy96 www.change.org/p/rareware-bring-twelve-tales-conker-64-back?recruiter=508774904&
burnsy96 Ok but you have to make sure you share it with your friends then they share it too ect..!!!
stephanie k wow I think we're getting a little bit a head of ourselves here, first I need to get some friends haha
Crazy how a bunch of negative comments from some amateur game journalists caused this game to be scrapped and turned into a completely whole new game.
@Philyutuber That's also not true. Rare already explained why the game changed multiple times... Just look it up.
Berri was playable, that's cool.
Honestly, if this game came out and bad fur day never existed We probably would’ve gotten banjo threeie, donkey Kong racing , and Nintendo probably would’ve bought out rare
I'm truly impressed of how finished this game looks
Was it Finished? Ik they put a lot into it but idk if it’s finished
@@Woody17 No
God damn it, this looks so much fun!
Rated E version of Conker
God I have nostalgia of this without even playing it! It just brings back memories of Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64. I guess I just love the Rareware art/music style.
same as i
sivret20 dude same!
9:32 Scream kinda sounds like the cheese when it’s bring chased in Bad Fur Day. At least I think, it just sounds familiar.
They reused some voice clips.
Best way to get this game is by finding someone who'd worked for the coding for the game. Maybe they have disc with the codes on like how Dinosaur Planet was leaked
the music in this game made me cry 😢
Man, Rare loved to play around with the N64 logo.
When he saus uh-oh at the start of the video, it's with conker actual voice from BFD XD even his expression was used in the game.
I would have enjoyed Twelve Tales and Quest more than Bad Fur Day no doubt
Well for me what I look in for a 3D Platformer is the beautiful environment and bright colors. I like the happy go lucky styles and all
100% agreed
IAM LU that takes away the uniqueness of conker tho...
I would have liked this.
The final product is miles better in comparison, although this does look good I’m glad they got bored with doing the same formula and decided to be R rated
I think Conker's running on all fours animation was reworked into his dance idle animation in the Rock Solid area in Bad Fur Day, because if you let Conker dance long enough he'll do the worm with his hands and feet and that's what I figure became of the animations where he ran on all fours, they became the part of his Rock Solid animation where Conker does the worm.
could we not have had both this and bad fur day
Good thing we didn't
good god this game looks really fun, I really want to play it one day!
I just recently discovered this game and I believe it is one of the best games on the n64.
It would’ve been cool to play this version but I’m glad they decided to go with bad fur day instead.
The comedy is perfect! Feels as if Trey and Matt were involved somehow.
Wow, this game got way further into development than i thought. They scrapped a lot here. It looks really good too, very cosy
This is conker good fur day
I hate the people who critisized rare more making the kiddy platformers. It's their fault we never got to play this game.
That Friendly Nutty Squirrel Named Conker Thus creating a masterpiece and a new genre in gaming history
Yeah, I woulda loved to play this (Bad Fur Day is awesome tho).
I like how the music for the level where conker has the Roman gladiator outfit is the main theme for jet force gemini.
Jesus, how close to completion was this? You can say that changing this to a more "hardcore" approach since 3D platformers at the time were oversaturated, but Bad Fur Day didn't light the sales charts on fire either. This looks really damn cool. Some classic N64 shit right here
that Wizard looks like Mr Dark from Rayman
Lmao I just thought that too! XD
I wish this game was released in the first place :(
@AaliyahFan2005 it would cause problems with parents also thinking bad fur day would be a kids game
This needs to be uncancelled because it’s much better and appropriate than Bad Fur Day.
NO ONE can get a hold of this rom? Come on, we need to hold someone from Rare as hostage or what? This looks AMAZING.
A rom was sold for thousands of dollars on eBay, but the cartridge could only be loaded on a computer, and the computer was probably destroyed.
@@sonatadusk9 what hurts it even more was that the n64 cartridge that had the game is unique because once the game is ejected, the file is destroyed to prevent leaking
I'm crying😢😢😭😭😭😭😭😭 I wanted to play it!!!! 😖😭😭😭😭
It's always easy to judge a game after the fact but I feel BFD's direction paid off.
this
I prefer this than young conker :/
Seeing Tim Stamper starting to show off his prototype brought me back to this.
Conker in Twelve Tales = Me as a child
Conker in Bad Fur Day = Me now
Hey we found a prototype of Dinosaur planet, who says their isn't one out there for this beauty.
While I’m glad they ultimately went the direction they did, this is one of the most fascinating and enticing beta versions of any game I’ve seen. I’d love for it to leak one day
If only had somebody found the computer and the files on this game
Rare still has their own HQ; It's likely the source code is over there, rather than in Microsoft's.
We should've gotten this instead
So, there are worlds where Conker had to find a letter N, some where he would find a B, and there's also a U.
_The letters, Mason, what do they mean?_
I dunno, BONUS, maybe?
10:12 It's funny to see how Conker 64's voice was reused for the cheeses from Conker's Bad Fur Day
Also, am I the only one who hates Conker's voice in Twelve Tales?
yup you're the only one who hates conker's voice in twelve tale's
