It's nice to see someone actually do something on a build, and show their way of doing things. Most builds on YT are here is before blah blah, here is after, blah blah. Looks like you have an awesome work ethic. That is great.

Two things you need to do that he didn't mention one when you put your top and bottom headers in silicone them to the walls so if the window leaks or cold air comes in it won't get moisture past those headers and when you trace it out use the thinnest pencil you can because you'll get a little eighth of a gap between the tracing line and the pencil and your template on the back wall

Can you add a link to where you got your windows?

  • @omendirty

You need to be careful sealing the inside. Water could possibly get trapped and cause the frame to rust. And a tip for windows that lack a 1/8" or less from fitting between the 1 x 2 metal tubes is to carefully hammer the clearance open.

I thought the foil facing on the insulation is supposed to face outward to work properly.

Interesting to see how you do things. Did you put any butyl tape on the outside edge of your window between your window and your outside skin? You should have. Then caulk around the edge. Dicor butyl tape.

Hi Kevin - thank you for your videos, I learn a lot. Im getting ready to order a 6 x 10, but i was thinking of having more windows for light and fresh air. Your reasons for a couple of small windows are valid - more wall space for storage etc. Now that you've used your trailer, would you do it the same way? Do you still find the cabinet space more valuable than light?

Should have asked this before. The tin snips you used to cut out the window opening in the aluminum are they straight cut only or did you used a straight cut ans and a left cut for the corners? Thanks, Paul.

    • @Robinson-Homestead

Thanks for the reply. I have all three straight, right and left, but just making sure before I dive into this in October. The heat down here in NC has been a bit much and I am doing things on the trailer outside not to leave out the almost daily summertime thunderstorms. I can get a few things done, but the heat doesn't agree with me as much as when I was younger and in better health. You're a good inspiration to get going on this. Thanks, Paul.

Dang bud as much as you spent in time , trouble, and supplies . You could bought a trailer with everything already done or a small travel trailer, point was to have a better one than u can buy and it's worse than and old camper redo
