The centre right coalition government in Dublin have been abysmal in their support of Palestine. The Irish public is and has long been overwhelmingly pro-Palestinian. This new Taoiseach and the one before are forced to use pro-Palestinian rhetoric because the public want to hear it. but they have resisted, blocked and stalled for the past 6 months and indeed 7 years. Leo Varadkar, the last Taoiseach, blocked legislation 6 or 7 years ago which had passed both houses in the parliament, which would have banned all trade between most of Ireland and the occupied Palestinian territories. The 'People before profit' party and many independents like Clare Daly and Mick Wallace [both members of the European parliament] have been excellent however

Ive watched Clare and Mick on yt. I admire them. And another whos names escapes me now. He has been to Palestine and seen the apartheid system in actiin and how the Palestinian citizens were mistreated.
Not exactly on irish politics but … there is an aid flotilla on its way to Gaza on a Turkish ships and setting off from Türkiye with uk and au etc aid support. I hope they get through, as the last one that went there ( 10/13 Yrs ago) was raided by israel idf ( in international waters and under a white flag) and 10 aid workers were murdered.
