My god did shin improved so much in season 2. I mean season 1 is still a banger, but a lot of characters in the 86 group felt emotionless robots (with exceptions). But shin was like a generic MC with zero emotion. Here he actually feels like a legit character by crying or showing frustration. It’s so much better.
You know I hate that I have to say this, but that whole emotionless robot thing…. That was the point. They had throw away anything unnecessary to survive, in their case emotions were unnecessary. You know, kind of like real soldiers. It takes time for real life soldiers to get back into normal life. I know it’s not explained in the anime, but the light novels make this very clear why they don’t get too emotional.
