@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 tks, keep it up, turtle kebob, stuffed turtle, turtle poppers...don't forget my favorite: Turtle Soup w/Dumplings
@fredericksharon7494 sounds good to me. See, when we leave a little out, just leaves opportunity for new videos🤣
You didn't show how to get the meat off the top shell
Sorry, UA-cam really gets us if it gets too yucky, and that part is real yucky on a Turtle.. trust me we'd rather show it all, just sometimes they don't let us
I always heard that there is 7 different flavors of meat in/on a soft ~shell turtle 🐢? Idk but 8ve been told by several ole timers that was true? Let me know okay
I thought it was like 7 or 8 differ color meats. I couldn't tell any difference on taste, lol, but it was marinated
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 Okay 👍 👌 Thank You for replying back to me as you always have. ❤️
No problem, we're going to as long as possible. It's gonna get tough as we grow, but we will definitely read all and do our best to reply soon as possible
Never had a "softshell" turtle.
We only had those snappin turtles. 50# - 90# ....we kept food on the table
Heard that. What's y'all's preference on how to cook them?
Which one of the ninja turtles do you think that is? 😂
I got no idea, but there's one less, lol
Nice looking kalbi!
Tasted good too!!
That's ok I prefer hard shell more
We're gonna have to try that in 2025
You could cook a buzzard like that and he would be good!
🤣🤣🤣, probably so
I don't marinate any meat. I don't bbq any meat. I like to taste the actual meat. I'd chicken fry this turtle. I would bread it in flower using the juse from the meat to cause it to stick. I'd cook it in a cast iron skillet. I don't care for deep fried meat.
Sounds good to me, Im sure id eat it and love it!!
Having only messed with Snappers, not seeing it claw at you while dead was odd.
All that yellow stuff is not meat. Not 100% sure but it was explained to me as that stuff is the pollution in the water that collected in them over the years.
Regardless IMO ya better served take the time to get it all off.
It's mostly just fat. Not saying it ain't got buildup of bad stuff. I just don't know on that
You can have my portion I'm not hungry
I ate it, no worries 🤣
I was told by an old timer that turtles have 7 types of meat.
Heard the same thing from the old timers.
It definitely has different color shades. Maybe someone that knows more will chime in
Commenting to hear more
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 haven’t had any in 35 years. The last i had was a snapping turtle my grandmother cooked and all the meat was different with textures I don’t remember on flavor.
Bet it was good though!!
Franklin 😅
Franklin got roasted!!
Eat em' up. Damn good meat
It was fantastic
Im fishing for catfish literally right now and just caught the biggest soft shell turtle ive ever caught. It swallowed my hook, so it was gonna die anyway, so i came straight here for a recipe. My wife thinks im wrong but i cant just leave it here to rot..
It is absolutely a fantastic meal. A bit messy for cleaning, but definitely don't let it go to waste. They also good fried like chicken tenders or whatever
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 I'm gonna fry it! Just got home with everything and realized I don't have any oil....back to the store I go!!
Well it's a lot better than I thought it would be. 👍🏽👍🏽
@ratherbeonthemoon Take it you BBQ it on sticks??
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 Nope, I cut in chunks and fried it like catfish!
I think he missed the sharp knife part…
Not totally, them turtles tough. Watched another video of a guy opening up that bottom part, he used shears. Im a retired Taxidermist, I got sharp knives. Probably use an outdoor edge next time though
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 thanks for the Ed 👍 keep up the great work 🙏💜
No disrespect meant. I do have some knives get dull, but it's because they get used a lot 😉
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 none taken 😎 you got it champion 🫴🏆
Some of these comments kill me ... He didn't ask y'all to like it. Simple thing is y'all eat meat from the grocery store and never bat an eye.. how do you think that meat got there. I'll take fresh meat any day over processed. Looked great to me. And for the ones complaining about how sharp the knife is y'all are more than welcome to send them some sharp ones instead of crying over it. Grown folks acting like baby's lord have mercy. Thanks for showing all the process of cleaning and cooking. Me an my husband fish and hunt year round nothing better! Love from Mississippi ❤
Thanks, they not bothering us near as bad as they think, lol. Your on point though🤣
Legal?
100%
IF you can tell me how to spell sauce P_____t and what it means in the CAJAN language, I will show you exactly what you are talking about.
PIQUANTE is the correct spelling, and were not Cajun, LOL. dont mean we cant cook Cajun STYLE Food, lol.
Dam there cooking micheal Angelo never in my life so screwed up
Did you see those meat stick on the grill, ain't no way that's messed up. Delicious 😋
WHY? Fresh boneless chicken breast is CHEAP as hell.
Hmmmm. I worked in a Chicken processing plant 6 years. I promise that Turtle was healthier
Hey man I bet we can fool everyone and tell them its not turtle
Guaranteed they wouldn't know, LOL
I don't mean to be rude but I can already foresee this video being demonetized
Thanks for watching. We try our best to be sensitive to all viewers, and we hope everyone enjoys our videos. This wouldn't be the first one that's been demonetized that's for sure. In our opinion, no video dealing with cleaning, cooking, and eating should be demonetized because it's a natural way of survival and putting food on the plate.
@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 and I totally agree with you on your last statement. I don't understand how people are so sensitive and yet they eat the same meat in the restaraunts or in the store bought canned meat.
Thanks for watching and the comments. We try to keep it as real as we can.
I had a softshell turtle sandwich in New Orleans once. Underwhelming flavour!
Ain't tried it fried yet, but may soon!!
