Can't do it from voicemail which is in the phone app we have to do manually type the number to know the voicemail
Yes, for some weird reason the phone app voicemail does not work for Indian mobile carriers.
How to activate voicemail in idea?
I don't think idea has support for voicemail. Still you can confirm it from their customer care.

I also have tested and used Airtel voice mail service in 2018. It works well but I found one glitch. Voice mail does not work when roaming. Had a lengthy conversation with Airtel engineers and nodal desk. At the end they replied over email that this service is not available while roaming(visiting other states). Not sure whether they have fixed it or not. Can anyone test and share whether the voice mail service of Airtel works or not while roaming?

JIO does not support voicemail as of now. To set up voicemail on android for Airtel it's the same procedure except the redirecting part.

I don't know of any solutions to this. Maybe becoz Indian carriers haven't properly configured it with iPhones or any phone in general
