  • Hound hunting is a way of life for many in North Carolina! And we're here to showcase that tradition! Chris heads to eastern NC with buddy Wade Temple to drop the tailgate and see what a pack of walkers can roll out of the block! This has been our most requested shows for us to do! It's also one of the most difficult to capture on video! So here goes! Bucks Trucks and Hounds! Thanks for the support!

    I’ve still hunted and dog hunted my entire life. Dog hunting by far 10 times harder and takes way more skill to shoot one running. Love these videos. If you are happy with the deer then take it if you don’t wanna take that deer then don’t. Don’t let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn’t shoot.

    Great episode!!!! Grew up in north fla running dogs every weekend during deer season... Now I get to do the same in eastern NC!!! No better sound than hearing a pack of dogs running a buck through a block of tall pines!!! Can't wait til October!!!

    Love it! Thanks for shedding some light on a tradition many don't understand. The naysayers claim its the lazy man's hunt but there is a lot more to it than that. I have not dog hunted in many years due to the increase in cost of club dues and things of that nature but I used to go every week of the season. I had over 20 hounds at one point and there are days when I miss it terribly. I still manage to kill a few from the tree stand every year but its still not the same as it was. We met when I was working at Layden's Supermarket, I've since changed jobs but just wanted to drop you a comment. Thanks again for an awesome video showcasing a awesome yet misunderstood tradition for folks in eastern NC. Great job

    Yes sir! This brought back some good memories of long days afield that start way before the sun thinks of coming up. You get to the turn out point of the chosen block. Just as the sun starts coming through the trees the jump dogs are turned loose. The morning dew and a low mist on the ground and all of a sudden the high pitched shriek bark of a jump fog that has hit a hot track. The other dogs are turned loose and the race for the backstraps begins. Oh,how I miss those days,doggin deer. Yes sir,that's how I first learned to do it,and I'll always be deer dog hunter at heart. Off in the not so far distance a twelve gauge load of 00 buck roars to life,and over the radio comes buck down,buck down. Gather the dogs and it's off to the next block, and do it again!! 🙂👍

    The way they video this stuff, and how they cover the hunters and the way they setup the fil crew, is above all other youtubers that run dogs. I agree, they need WAY MORE episodes of this.

    The second buck was loading and they are hard to hit but when he broke the guys popped him. That is not his first time. People think it’s easy to do what he did try it. Most still hunters shoot the deer standing still but running dogs they are running.

    You guys are using the wrong guns for dog hunting shotguns are what you need...i dog hunt and our club has around 10 thousand acres and we have a strict no rifle during a organized hunt...we also work with the game department here in virginia and we are in the dmap program we let small bucks go and kill more doe to help produce bigger bucks

    • @hbhkennel918
      @hbhkennel918 Рік тому +1

      I would withdraw from that DMAP program. They want you to put in all the work to grow bigger bucks only to have the land owners' to either price you out of the land or just get enough crybaby still hunters to get the dogs cut out. They've done here in Arkansas. Besides, you can't eat the dang horns anyhow.

    • @CarolinaALLOUT
      @CarolinaALLOUT  11 місяців тому +2

      To help you understand… that club has a “fork on one side” rule. It wasn’t a spike. It was a 4 pt. We were guests at the club and did not want to break the rules. So yes… it was a “shooter” buck. We didn’t make the rules, we were just trying to abide by them. And yes it was probably a 2 year old buck. If you wanted to see a 5 year old mature buck go down on camera then get in line right behind us. We would too but making a show to represent hound hunting in a 3 day span didn’t allow us many “turn downs”. He was turned into burger, sausage and in fact, I ate some backstraps off of him 2 weeks ago. Delicious. Mission accomplished. Thanks for watching!
