Great British Soul band. This came out in 89 and hit number one.
holy crap 1989 so long ago now.
I was 16 in the North of England, this song was everywhere. Classic vibe.
Caron Wheeler’s vocals are PERFECTION. They cannot be bettered on this track. This track still sounds fresh and BANGS almost 35 years later. A true classic.
Yes, they indeed are the originators. The one and only Soul II Soul. Yes, folks have used this song in various places.
Soul to soul were massive in the uk club scene in the 80,s . You are missing out on the video of the artists , musicians and the whole uk vibe back then.
yup!
The video is so great, it complements the song perfectly. They really should watch the video!!!

The music video is outstanding!!! Love!!! 💖💜💖💜
@@GodsView1 No. They're not getting paid for the reactions
Oooh, this is so good. I remember us jammin' to this at the youth club disco back in the late 80s and early 90s.
This is funky af. What a classic.
This was a huge hit...! Those Violins...!
Caron Wheeler gives a great vocal performance on this track!🖖🏼
One of my all time favorite songs! This takes me back!
This was huge back in ‘89, in the UK.
They are also known for their Smash hit "Keep on Moving" around the same time in the late 80's early 90s!!
❤ This hits you downtown your soul. I love vocals in this.
Yeah late 80's, British band taking some of that Sade flavor and putting a dance beat behind it. Fantastic mood elevator!!
Oh my god this is my jam!! I miss the 90s so much I was in my 20s during the 90s so of course I love it and I was living on South Beach at the time I’m originally from Miami but during that time I was living on South Beach and really living my best life! I still love this song till this day
Yes! Early 90's were my college days-this song was played at all the parties!😂
@skbwolverine I'm sure this was out 1989 .
@douglastaggart9360 Yes- it was released in 1989. It was an instant hit. It was also played at my senior prom. I started college in Fall 89, and it was still a hit at college parties well into the following year-at least where I went to school. 😊
I remember groovin to this as a 20 something, and another one of their's Keep On Movin. Ck that the video. The UK had some great R&B groups that came out in the 80s Soul II Soul, Loose Ends, etc. Anyway, thanks for the post. Great group 🥰
Loose Ends was my favorite! 💜🎶😍 the Zagora album 1986 was on repeat.
There cannot be a person alive who does not love this song. I have cruised around in my custom cars for 30+ years and this song is part of those rides.
yes and yes will forever be on my playlist !!! its such a groove ! Keep on moving is another good tune. YES its theirs !
🎶❤️🔥🎶❤️🔥 this beat always gets me mooovinggg💯❤️ Love ittt!!! 💃💃💃
Suuuch a great song!! Tori Amos played this as a mash up with one of her songs last time I saw her in concert! 🔥
BJ is gettin it!! Asia how could you sit still with this jam!! 😉 We be partying to this song!!
Man, this song takes me back to when i was a kid. i was 11 when this came out love this song ❤ it came 1989
Did you watch the video? Its perfect! You teally missed seeing the black excellence of that video, so many beautiful talented black muscians. Just perfection. Please watch it.
Great reaction. It's so wonderful when you guys start movin' and groovin'. Could you please react to En Vogue? They were the top girl group of the 90's. "Hold On", My Loving(You're never gonna get it), Free Your Mind, Giving Him Something He Can Feel, Don't Let Go Love...etc. ❤️🔥❤️✊🏾✌🏾💯
Soul II Soul One of my all favourite bands, Jazzie B is the man.
Sound of the summer of 89 here in the UK. Keep on Movin’ - Soul II Soul was massive too.
Hey asia bj.. why didn't you do the video version cos you can see.. the gorgeous caron wheeler god rest her soul. Anazing vocalist..
Fresh british black British Rnb band fresh from UK 1989.. smashed the dancefloor. This was the debut single no.1 for 8 weeks .. I'm proud to be British ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another great song from my Era.,, 🥰 I LOVE watching you 2 react.... Get it BJ!!! 🤩
BJ is gettin' it!!!!!!!
Every Monday morning i pull into the parking lot at work blast'n this song!
Edit...BJ getn slick work'n that cabbage patch! PERFECT!!
Back to Life was released 35 years ago this year, and it STILL cranks just like it did in 1989! 😊❤
I remember when this song came out (yes, I know I'm aging myself). It was such a great time, such wonderful memories. I met my first love that summer at Brooklyn College. This song reminds me of him. Asia, you look beautiful! You, too, B.J, lol
I grew up with this music..this was 1989..
I still listen to this song at least once a week even after all these years. It's a staple on my playlist. So, so good!
The late 80s and early 90s was the golden age of dance music. I lived in the clubs then. Great memories.
Let me tell you late 80s and early 90s in london Soul ll Soul were our soundtrack to our summers weather we were dancing in warehouse or famers fields this tune was everywhere
I love this song, I highly recommend the video, it's one of the most beautiful music videos IMO.
Such a great song. Underrated at the time. The positive, Afro-Centric sound of this era needs to come back. Watch the video…too many gorgeous women in one video.
wasnt underated at all it was a banger back when it came out along with keep on movin'.
Hardly underrated at the time.
It was a worldwide smash hit.
This song always take me back to the summer of 1990 in NYC when guys driving in their Jeeps and Maxima with a boomin system blasting this song. Good times.
I wore out this CD in 1989, 1990, 1991 then I think I finally put it down - the whole thing is AMAZING
Need more reactions like this for the kids.
I know yall going to enjoy this. A forever jam. Never played enough. A excellent entertaining live band!!!
1989: 12 year old me wondered what happened to real instruments.
1989: 21 year old wife coming back to America & going to clubs and having this song be the soundtrack.
Soul ll soul is jazzie b's band.he's the guy on the cover pic you were looking at.
I think Caron wheeler who was the singer on this was a ft artist for this song.
This gives me London summer vibes.
DISAPPOINTED you didn't do the video and see them in action! It adds to the vibe.
Oh yesssssss! The beat that rocked the dancefloors. Stay on this groove ... please.
Classic track that lives on in many iterations in the electronic music scene!
This song is a time machine. Glad to find you guys have another channel, love your movie/TV one!
8th grade, I had the coolest school bus driver. He would turn on the radio and turn it up. This song would play hourly, along with Girl you know it's true, Blame it on the rain, Straight Up, Forever your girl. Milli Vanilli, Paula Abdul and Soul II Soul were kings of the radio.
Wow this takes me back to the good ole days and yeah Keep On Moving is another song by them
Mandatory at any cookout 💯👑🖤 Jah bless
I looove this song. Nice choice!
Quality guys, blast from my youth, rocking the dance floor at the under 18’s night where we all thought we were the s*it😂😂❤️
I love SOS Band, Mtume , I love the song, Juicy Fruit! My Generation!
Gosh this song takes me back to high school!
That was late 80s sound entering the 90s. Same with Sinitta (Love and Affection), Inner City (Good Life/Big Fun), Technotronic (Pump up the jam), Milli Vanilli :), Tone Loc (Funky cold medina), Neneh Cherry (Bufallo Stance), Black Box (Ride on Time),
This another track with the legendary Claudia Fontaine singing background, she was on so many classic tracks , also the Pink Floyd Pulse Concerts . Probably on more hits than any other artist in history .
Damn. This jam takes me back to the Richmond Strip in H-Town in the early 90’s. This was a mandatory trip to the dance floor.
💃🕺
This came out 1989. Legendary Funk group Soul II Soul was! By the way, DJ, your wife is right! This song has been sampled numerous times in both hip-hop and R&B music!
Sidenote: I don’t know if you have or not, but you really need to peep Loose Ends! They got some legendary joints too!
The one song that will make you get up, no matter how low you are.
This was one of my Jams still love it 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
This was my jam back in the day!!!
Always takes me back to my teens this great song.. JAMES are a band you should check out starting with "laid" or "Sometimes" 👍
You should watch the video
I think they used this song as an ad for their clothing line in the UK
This came out when I was 9 years old. I remember playing out in the street and hearing this song blast out of my neighbour's teenage son's bedroom window.
Oh Lawd I can’t believe y’all haven’t heard this before!! My 6 year old has been a fan since she was 2! I still love y’all though and I’m glad you truly appreciate it ❤ It’s one of the songs I play often because my daughter and I like it so much. The music itself is AWESOME let alone the VOCALS!
big classic .. they dont make them like this NO MORE!! timeless!!
The best of days dancing in the clubs!

BJ got me in tears from laughing so hard! Get yo groove on, BJ!!!
You cant beat 90's music. Every genre was 🔥
Such a great song still!
This woman is absolutely stunning. So pretty. Love the song always have.
The recognizable baseline that you hear is originally from the song “Don't Look Any Further" by Dennis Edwards ft Siedah Garrett. According to Google, it has been sampled 82 times.
I think everyone used that sample pack back then. I really enjoy their track Get a Life.
If you liked that check out these: Soul II Soul - Get a Life (Official Video) and Keep on Movin'! Thanks.
Asia got vocal cords! Keep singing girl!
Yes the 90esd soul was Soul fantastic. Thank you Aisa & BJ .

Hey Asia & BJ, Just a quick suggestion. George Micheal sings this @ LIVE ROCKIN RIO! Check It out! It's George Michael! 😊🥰🎤😎🎶🎶🎶🕺💃🔥
Funny that you mentioned that. I was the one who requested this song and I picked it because I had just been listening to George’s “Freedom ‘90” (Back to Reality mix). Its such an amazing remix!
London England 88' A time to be.
This was like 89... There is a killer Acapella version where the beat comes in about half way through the song with the beat clap bringing it in. I used to listen to this religiously back in the day on 107.5 WBLS, 98.7 KISS and 103.5 WKTU... Caron Wheeler and Jazzy B were the leads of Soul to Soul.
Man! Take me back!
I was In high school when this song came out and I dj a lot parties especially my house an this was the go to song were got everybody dancing and grooving .And yes was in movie belly beginning there going into the club with the backlights everywhere.which I had in my place and back then I was very creative I took glow in the dark stars and put them everywhere walls ceilings furniture so when you shut backlights out stars everywhere I also took fishing string and hung them different lengths hanging from the ceiling I also put them on fan blades were made like flying saucer when on I took bed sheet hung over walkway or closet put stars on there and when you put fan out it it would wave very trippy.people tripping or stoned.I had all different backlight photos from classic rock to rap to bob marly to jim morrison to garden eden etc etc name it I had it or created it before now they got laser shows which I have.but wish I had pattered stuff in late 80s early 90s I would been rich man.everybody loved it and wanted hang out I dj and had all kinds music amp it I got it still have od stuff as well mix tapes cds records 8 track and everything online now days.People friends couldn't wait every week to come over and see what I came up with next which was new then id show people how to do there bedrooms.I wish I had drive to pattern or make things then for everybody would been rich.but I was very given person alot great memories not alot cells then was beepers music and hanging out. and love this song takes me back and I still listen to today.
