I simply don't understand why she hasen't had more success. She's covered country, folk, and some of her own very unique material which is fabulous. I have two of her albums - Miss Fortune and The Duel. Listen to "Let Go" and the dark title track "The Duel" both written from the soul.
@CTC1965 I think that's part of it. But negative lyrics aren't always a deal breaker. Can you think of a happy Eagles song? Fleetwood Mac's Rumours was also pretty negative. A lot of Neil Young too. But those artists all have uplifting beats so if you don't examine the words, you think it's a good time song. You've heard her "Light of a Clear Blue Morning", right? Sad might be more accurate characterization. But I'm a sucker for sad songs, so I think Allison's awesome...
@scotsguy422 I let two co-workers of mine a few years ago listen to her stuff. They both said the same thing : she's too negative. Daisy123M states another reason why too. Her and her sister should be top of the pops, me thinks.
Not bad, but it's a pity that such an talented artist moved from outstanding alt-country to average pop songs. I'm not sure the culprit is Steve Earle, but...
God, this woman is beautiful. The fact that she is super-talented is the icing on the cake. The whole package.
I love this track a great sound on the guitar
Brilliant from a brilliant album, thanks for the great video. Just ace.
Really appreciate this post ! Allison is so much more than just a pretty face. Thanks again.
Such a fantastic video. I am a fan of Allison. I heard her on the world cafe on public radio and was blown away.

What a Great Song here. I hear the Neil Young influence on this one. Neil would be proud.
great song, and yes you're right about the similar beat, but the grungy guitar always reminds me of Sterephonics' "Mr. Writer"

You guys want to know something funny. I have Allison on my facebook and she read one of my comments one night! =-P
Love this song...beat is very similar to Tom Petty's "Last Dance with Mary Jane".
Her music sure was better before Steve Earle came along!!!
she shoulda married ME
She's gotten better now that they've split.
Sounds like a Neil Young band backing her.
