Confucius temples are different from the ordinary temples in Taiwan because the ordinary temples are run and supported by the neighboring communities while the Confucius temples are espoused and maintained by the government. By the same token the basic function for a Confucius college is to spread the properganda which is opposed to that of an ordinary academic college.
