Another great renovation! I really love the fact that Ben always makes something "extra" for the homeowners, and the way he and Erin reuse/repurpose things from the house.
I can't say enough how I love to see these older homes renovated to style and not turned into the latest design trend. It breaks my heart when other shows rob historical builds of all their character.
Finding a walled up fireplace is an amazing find... My Late Husband and I lucked out three times in our 1890’s Victorian house. When we purchased it was listed has having two fireplaces. In the living room and the master bedroom directly above it. Five months after moving into our house, I asked my Husband, why do we have two chimneys! We found three more fireplaces, in the kitchen ground floor and bedrooms on the second and third floors. We also found two sets of pocket doors that were walled in... all of the brass hardware complete and it worked. Did anyone see the entire episode? What condition was the interior of the fireplace and flue/chimney? Was it “Fire Safe” or was this fireplace strictly for show? Does anyone know?
I am so excited for your fantastical discovery. What a dream! Sorry I don't know the answer to your question. I really wish there were a way to see HGTV without paying dollars
I usually watch these shows with a perpetual lip curl . Not this time!!! Bravo ! Perfection . It Is completely elegantly original in appearance . It is divine.
I record and faithfully watch not only any new episodes but all episodes and watch them faithfully. The decisions made are seemingly always the best decisions, whether they keep or remove a fireplace or wall or whatever. The personal touches via artwork or a newly created piece of furniture from repurposed wood is for me, why I adore you two. The rescuing of old homes, keeping just a little “dinge”, and a home is created, a neighborhood, a community, a town, city, county, state, country...I honestly feel you two with your great cast of workers and designers, the shops and stores and the wonderful caches of lumber and items restored and repurposed from peoples barns and storage buildings is just the best. Oh, the fireplace, keep it, if it works and adds value safely, I’d say. Keep up the great work. I only know your tv personalities, but I feel like I have a big friend love for y’all.
Very American style. The home looks very cozy. Ben & Erin use the same style of furniture for every makeover/restoration I have watched so far. In keeping with the location no doubt.
I appreciate that Ben and Erin are always sensitive to the histories of the houses they remodel and don't rip out the original features and replace them with whatever the contemporary fad there is at the time they redo the homes. I like the dining room wallpaper and would have left all of it. Instead of green, I would have painted the wainscoting white which would have kept the dark wallpaper from overpowering the room.
We found a fireplace someone covered over too. We put gas logs in it. We had an old mantel we found in a shop for a hundred ten dollars. It's so nice My house is 1940s. The fire place was in the Dr area of the lr , Dr combo in the house the walls under the paneling was shiplap
REALLY like this house! One of my favourites - except.... They should have not psinted the wallpaper in the diningroom- and... All it takes to clean a crystal chandelier, is a little time, some windex and a rag, guys... 😊
Wow!!! You're so amazing guys!!! 😍😍😍❤❤❤ Hope u could repair my house, though i know that would b so impossible coz I live in the Philippines.🙄🙄🙄🙄 😊😊😊😊 Dreams dream... 😍😍😍 Love u guys... Keep safe... ❤❤❤
If I were wanted to find someone to do a remodel that does like Erin does, looks at and designs the entire picture and oversees renovations, what would I be looking for? What is her career title?
Yikes, no hand rails on the steps to the lower level. Danger! Their homeowners insurance carrier would have a fit. Otherwise, good job. Wall paper above dining room fireplace is garish, but that's my personal taste.

Ben and Erin do a fabulous job! I love how they repurpose things, don't throw things away willy nilly, and they have truly unique ideas. Love it.
What a pleasant & loving couple...
A great house - and I love the fact you did not make it all open plan! Much better this way.
You guys I could watch all day!! Personal Favorite!!!
One of my favorite renovations, just crazy for those green cabinets in the kitchen! Well done Ben and Erin!
I love Ben and Erin.. pray for them everyday.

I can just imagine the excitement of discovery that you and your husband had exploring your Victorian house! What delightful finds!

What a lovely comment. You echo the hearts and minds of legions of Erin and Ben's viewers.

One of the best renovation,I have ever seen. Thanks for another great video. I wish by some magic you can renovate my house.
I honestly think that the risk of finding the fire place was well worth it for this family
I love their results.....
They are my favorite on HGTV.❤
I really admire this couple! They make s great team!
That house is stunning! Beautiful touches and kept the historic beauty of the house!
Absolutely beautiful home!
I love this couple.
This by far is my favorite house ever the style is amaaaazing
Ben is so damn funny: "I'm kinda thinkin' about losing sleep over it!"
The transformation is nice! The fire place added beauty!
My hometown I remember all of this after being away for almost 50 years beautiful guys I love your work keep up the awesome work

❤❤❤hermosa y bella tranformacion
Great job. Love what you did here.
My dream house😍😍😍
Oh I luv everything they do looks gorgeous
This house is a dream house. No one ever tells you what the renovations cost. I don't think a working person could afford it.
these episodes are very edited, the original version has costs
Magnifique!
An amazingly clean fireplace, never used, apparently.
newly opened.
So weird the people that people do to their old homes over the years. But what a great score!
Very nice upgrade but I like to know. how much they spend just for the renovation I think they spend a lots of money
We found a fireplace someone covered over too. We put gas logs in it. We had an old mantel we found in a shop for a hundred ten dollars. It's so nice

Wow!
Wish you could do my house. Great 👍 on the fire 🔥 place. I looking at your work, great 👍 job !!!
Shallow fireplaces were made to use coal, which usually had inserts.
would be taking down that picture over the stove.....yep. Kitchen grease slowly gets on everything unless you scrub it every day.
Beautiful

Boa tarde.O bom gosto e o requinte em cada detalhe é uma das marcas desse casal que com afeto constrói lares para as pessoas .Parabéns.
I feel both the room 's wall paper were looking awesome should not have removed them
Is the furniture brought in or is it the home owners?
Dear Ben and Erin. Please, please, please! Come to MO and do my house! It needs work!
fab
Yeah, you’ve been losing sleep. Lol
Wow!!! You're so amazing guys!!! 😍😍😍❤❤❤ Hope u could repair my house, though i know that would b so impossible coz I live in the Philippines.🙄🙄🙄🙄 😊😊😊😊 Dreams dream... 😍😍😍
Love u guys... Keep safe... ❤❤❤
🥰🥰🥰
0:24 I mean, COME ON!
How!
I'm with Ben: I think the wainscoting in the DR should have been higher
If I were wanted to find someone to do a remodel that does like Erin does, looks at and designs the entire picture and oversees renovations, what would I be looking for? What is her career title?
She would be a project manager with a background in interior desing?
I think I like these guys more than Chip and Joanna...
Me too
Ben looks a lot like Henry the 8th
👏👍🇧🇷

Otherwise, good job.

I'm confused they didn't see a chimney?
That's how they knew there was supposed to be a fireplace, but they didn't know if it was still there or what condition it was in.
I dont why but i find it creepy. Photo on kitchen and the bed frame in bedroom.. seems like theres a tragic story there

Qué feos colores. Verde 🤮 la madera no se pinta, en todo caso se lija y se deja natural.
El tapiz horrible.!
They should have left the fireplace alone.
They crushed that. I don't know what you're looking at. That is great.
Horrible.
