Into the Mountains: Our Unforgettable 3-Day Hike and Wild Camping Trip in the Stunning Lake District

- Join @ADVENTUREISMADE and me on an unforgettable adventure to the Lake District! For three days, we hike and wild camp, taking in the overwhelmingly beautiful landscape, enjoying delicious campfire food, and disconnecting from the hectic world.
Teaming up with Matty was awesome - we worked well as a duo and improvised several great solutions. Despite being challenged with windy and wet conditions from the start and struggling to find a campsite on day one, morale remained high throughout the trip.
With a full moon out, the nights were bright, and we could see the outlines of the majestic landscape from our tents. Waking up to a frozen landscape on the second day was pure magic, and with the sun shining in full force, we couldn't have asked for more.
We trekked through the valley and into the mountains for about four hours until we reached our tarn for the second night. I tried to convince Matty to take a dip in the chilly 5.8c water, but I'm not giving up just yet.
With the wind blowing hard from the south, Matty improvised a great tarp setup to get us out of the wind. Using both our tents for support and staking down a ridge line, the shelter provided much-needed relief from the wind and a common area for cooking, eating, and chilling out. Not for long, though, as we promptly went into our sleeping bags for a windy night of broken sleep.
On the final day, the wind continued, but the sun was out again. After a quick tear-down of camp, we boiled up coffee using fire-starters for fuel since we had run out of gas and food, and we were off on our two-hour descent.
This was a fantastic trip where we learned a lot from each other and made a new friend. Join us on this incredible adventure to the Lake District and experience the beauty of this stunning landscape for yourself.
Keep on adventuring!

Such an epic spot in the Lakes and lucked in with the weather in the latter stages of the trip. Days like that are hard to beat in the Lakes!!
Totally bro! With weather like that, it doesn’t get better. Was such a beautiful spot, really special !!
This is fantastic work! Music selection, audio recording, composition of your shots, and overall atmosphere of the scenes is just amazing.
I really appreciate that mate! I agree it really worked well all together this time!
Stunning scenery… enjoyed..
Thanks bud!
Is it just me or do you resonate, it seems every camp I’ve ever been involved with everyone has to have that last kindling or log move 😂😂😂😂 no words are ever said, just the stealth move to adjust the wood haha 😅 there’s something therapeutic about building the perfect fire right?? Excellent adventure once again Eze, sublime filming as usual 😊
hahaha yeah totally! It's not perfect until it's perfect ... then your buddy moves it. LOL
Awesome adventure !! You were in good company 👍
Definitely, matty is an awesome team mate
Yours popped up first 😂
Great video Eze, I've done that walk it's beautiful. Past Innominate Tarn where wainwright had his ashes scattered (if you didn't know)
You captured some beautiful shots!
All the best, Paul
Hahah first baby!
Yes Matty had told me about the ashes, pretty wonderful place for it!
Thanks Paul
I love camping and hiking so much and living in South Africa lets me fully indulge. I've been wondering what camp life is like outside of South Africa and I'm not sure if I might love it as much if I was in the UK🤭
S Africa must be EPIC for wild camping!
Enjoyed your music and the views! Nice video capture of your adventure!
Thanks so much, glad you liked it!

I seldom comment on videos, and usually admire content from the shadows so to speak. But it has to be said, what absolutely incredible cinematography. This has genuinely inspired me 💯

@@EzeAdventurer Hi Eze, you're welcome!
hi! how does one go camping? like do you need a permit or something to camp in the lake district with a tent like yall?
no permit required for wild camping, just to follow some etiquette, the following link may help:

Great video and head squeezing 😂, whereabouts in the Lake District is this ?
Thanks so much buddy this is mostly western part of Lake District! Beautiful área to explore, as is the whole of lakes really!
This looks awesome. Trying to persuade a couple of my mates to do this. What time of year was this?
Awesome I think it was late march maybe !
Once again a brilliant video which I thoroughly enjoyed watching. Stunning scenery in a beautiful part of the country. I will be venturing to the lake district for my annual flyfishing trips in the middle of May. Your more than welcome to join me.
Thanks robin glad you enjoyed it! I’d love to but my expedition credits are quickly running out. AKA.. my wife Is gonna kill me hahah!! Have an amazing trip
Could you please tell me the location where it is located exactly..
Hi mate sorry can'y give exact locations as it's all about protecting the area and avoiding certain spots becoming overly visited/popular. However, general area is western Lake District, OS Maps should help to identify the area with a bit of research.
Found you from Matty's channel, great collab and happy to sub :)
Thanks so much!
Another great video with some beautiful scenery and great camera work looked an amazing few days up in the hills. Looking forward to your next adventure
Thanks Peter , I appreciate that!
what amazing country, thank you for sharing
Thanks!
What a gorgeous video! Got a new sub :)
Thank you!!
This is awesome mate, beautiful cinematography. Well done.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate that!
Fantastic hike and camp out for you. Best wishes.
Thank you!!
i really wanna do this, how do i start? also where is this?🤩
Hi mate! You can do it! would recommend starting with an easy camp, somewhere closer to help should you need it. This is in the Lake District. So many places to wild camp! If starting out, I'd recommend trying it in summer, or in mild conditions. Also Decathlon has awesome gear for very reasonable prices. My first tent was only £20 and it's pretty good! Most importantly, just GET OUT THERE!
Really nice there, bro, great adventure! What a scenery!
Thank you, really was super special !
Wonderful👌👏 I love your style bro.... Love it🖤
Thanks Marty I appreciate that!
Great scenery, beautiful tour. And as a paddler not only on but also in the water.
Haha thank you appreciate that!
Will drinking the river water not make you unwel, I’m new to the wild camping I’m starting out this year, also what are the basics to take with you that people over look?
Hi Jimmy!
Drinking water straight out of streams / rivers is always a contended topic. Personally, I'm ok taking water from streams that are high up, where farming / animals etc won't interfere with the source much.. Snow melt etc, tends to be safer to drink. It's quite a personal choice as to how much to risk it, and experience will help you to determine as you go. I'd recommend filtering all water as you start, it seems the most prudent way.
Some rivers such as the Wye, or others in heavily populated areas are an absolute MUST to filter AND/OR boil. Some people don't even think that's enough as boiling / filtering doesn't get rid of some chemicals.
Basics to get off to a good start:
I highly recommend a VERY high quality sleeping pad. In my opinion, more important than your sleeping bag itself. Don't underestimate how much heat you can lose to the ground. It makes all the difference. Look for ones with high "R Values".
Sleeping bag, would recommend down bag. Packable, warmer and more comfy in my opinion. I never got on well with synthetics.
Tent is where you can avoid spending too much money. I personally don't think the tent is that important. Firstly, you shouldn't be getting out in windy conditions in the first place to start with, so a basic tent will do. Look for ones that high a high mesh content in the inner tent, to increase ventilation and reduce condensation.
Communication - I highly recommend an inreach mini if you're planning to go solo, or something that can get you emergency help when out of reach, no signal.
Clothing - don't overpack. But good waterproof trousers / jacket shell are essential. Unless forecast is 100% positive, then save the weight.
Avoid cotton, it soaks and hangs on to moisture. Better to go for synthetics such as dry fits or merino wool.
Keep food simple, so you don't have to faff around too much at dinner time.
Then the rest should be as minimal as possible. Really consider if you NEED an item before you pack it into your bag. Weight adds up and makes a massive difference to enjoyment and distance you can cover.
Good water filter! I like the Sawyer Squeeze. (don't go for the mini, it won't last long, the flow is slow too).
Lastly and an important one: Positive attitude. Things will rarely go exactly to plan, but that's part of the adventure and what makes it so exciting! Embrace the uncertainty but also keep safety at the top of the priority list when decision making. TAKE YOUR TIME. The moment you feel you are rushing something or panicking, STOP. Take a breath and work out the next step.
ENOY buddy!!! It's a wonderful activity and way of life!
@@EzeAdventurer thank you so much for spending your time to reply
@@EzeAdventurer also just one more question I’m currently using an app
On my phone to follows trails on gps, how/what do you use to navigate and stay on track to avoid getting lost
Here in the UK I like to use OS Maps and the app too. You can download OS maps offline which are very useful, contours show you steepness etc and help to navigate, but also to find camping spots as you search for areas with wide apart contours, indicating flat land. Just take some time to learn the os map symbols like marsh, scree walls, etc etc!@@Jimmyneutron1991
This is a great vid very inspirational !
Thanks so much appreciate it!!!!

It is so STUNNING!!
Great video mate
Thank you!

Ok sure!
Brilliant 😉
Thanks!!
In July, my wife and I would like to follow your path. So if you had time to write the route, where to leave the car, I would be very grateful to you 😉
Loved everything except the fire. Whilst you guys seemed very responsible and it had freshly rained, the fact is that fires are banned acriss the entire Lake District National Park. Add to that best practice from Leave No Trace and it's a real no-no. I enjoy a nice fire, like anyone else, but the rules exist for a reason. Let's show respect and demonstrate the trustworthiness of the wild camping community. Keep on walking.
You're right
