@@RickSolis1026 I thought Jeannie’s perspective was nuts but Tamera’s attitude was very unprofessional. They could’ve agreed to disagree without Tamera getting so offended.
I agree Jeannie was doing the most and she could have put Tam in her place a whole lot easier if she just mentioned straight couple characters on kids Tv: Mickey & Minnie, Donald Duck & Daisy Duck, every fucking Disney princess movie that ends with a kiss. why is it pure and innocent when Ariel kisses prince Eric in the Little Mermaid and Mickey and Minnie get to be flirty, but perverted when Bert & Ernie are boyfriends? why does her mind divert to thinking of male genitalia? no one said they were going to show the puppets fucking or kissing... just that they were boyfriends. nothing more nothing less. pure and innocent as well. she needs to check herself into why she's reducing male relationships as a means for male sexual pleasure.
I agree with Tamera on this one. When kids are watching Sesame Street, they are Not thinking about that! You’re literally just singing along and trying to learn..
But this is a conversation amongst adults, not the kids... I think that its okay for the concept to come from a gay relationship even if the character aren't gay themselves. Even if they are... we couldn't tell then so it shouldn't matter.
I’m on team Tam for this one. As a child it never entered my mind if Bert and Ernie were gay. And just because Sesame Street said they’re not, doesn’t mean they’re saying that homosexuality is not cool. So Jeannie can take her best friends and have several seats. It’s not that deep Jeannie.
Did you even hear what Tam said to Jean? Jean was explaining what she experienced as a child until Tam said “Did you care wither they were gay or not”. When your a kid, you don’t know nothing about gay puppets. All you see them being together, having fun and teaching vocabulary and the last thing on they mind is Adults complaining about 2 puppets being gay.
How is it grown? As a kid, I always thought they were in a relationship just like Kermit and Miss Piggy. If I can understand that my parents were in a relationship, why is it "grown" for Bert and Ernie to be in a relationship?
@@lexi219 when i say grown, i mean age appropriate. Yes, as a child i knew they were in a relationship but at 3, 4 or 5 i shouldn't have to decipher if they are gay or straight.

Yes I agree we always want to force these things into children's thoughts, and make bigger statements can't we ever just have something for little kids to learn and have fun.
Girl yes! She was a bit childish and rude with the neck roll and non-verbals. Friends, as they claim to be, and adults should be able to have a healthy discussion while disagreeing.
Monique UU u can do that without getting mad lol all she did was share her point of view and wanna say who right or wrong instead of just having ur own opinions
because jeanie didnt let tamera interject so she was like o ok rolls eyes 👀. Jeanie was just taking it too seriously which is why tamera was like damn chill its not that big of a deal.
V S my thoughts exactly. To me I saw it as when Jeanie told Tamera she disagreed, Tamera did the “what is she talking about “ look after Jeanie brought in her point of view. Tamera gave that look because Jeanie took it too far as to bring in the gay or gender identity when it was totally NOT what Tamera was talking about. Folks seems to be stretching all of this too far to me. Tamera was not rolling her neck and none of that. People just like drama. 😆
Tamera made sense this time around. Folks need to stop making things bigger than what they are. When I used to watch Sesame Street I promise I DID NOT CARE or even looked at them like they were gay, I actually thought they were cousins or something of that nature. I'm tired of these people tryna push this stuff, kids don't be caring about that fr. Jeannie Mai gonna say she looked at it as them saying being gay was a bad thing just because the writer denied that they were gay, like wtf how she even interpret it as that? She being petty af.
I know right?! Nowadays it's like you have to tiptoe on eggshells around this gay stuff, cause people will instantly accuse you of foolishness like she is doing to the producers of Bert & Ernie smh
I agree with Tamera too, but the attitude wasn’t okay. I’m more suprised Jeanne thought they were gay as a child, I didn’t see any sign of them being in a relationship at all even now.
I love how Jeannie stops to ask Tamera if she's okay. 2:45 She will always be my favorite even if I disagree with her because she's the most respectful and open minded.
Kaci Well she is not ok cause her defending her racist husband yesterday backfired in a major way. They were coming for him from all angles on twitter yesterday. They posted his old tone deaf tweets and showed that he follows the most racist Trump supporters. He was blocking people right, left and middle center.
I hope she has the same attitude when her non-racist husband makes racist marks or when he calls her racist for asking if he wants mayo on his sandwich...
This about race except for you. Those who don't like people a rent perfect all the time like you should be Jesus. Jeanies not a kid now it didn't go gay back then it happen now. We don't always have shove sexuality down people's throats, especially on kids show.
I agree with Tamera 100%. She's human so she's going to have a little attitude on this topic as a mother. Let children learn how to count their numbers and do their ABC's. They don't need to be concerned about who's top or bottom!
When tamera talks about God and her family people say she too holy and emotional, she rolls her eyes she’s too rude or ratchet. I mean she’s not gonna have a good day everyday. She’s entitled to express her feelings.

@Knowledgeseeker lishaQw358 she was deeply hurt by the comments people have made about her marrying a white man! So now she seems super sensitive about it and would like to address it but have not had the platform to do it. She is going to have to not care what other people think or say about HER life!
I think ppl are missing what Jeannie is saying. First and foremost, Tamera was acting up for no damn reason. All she had to do was listen. Jeannie is saying that the FACT that people have to defend that the puppets aren’t gay is wrong. She’s saying kids should be able to understand different types of relationships regardless of how they interpret them. It’s not sexual. To deprive them to witness different relationships is only placing your own ignorance upon them.

Kids don't need to know about sex about gay or straight or anything else like that they don't even need to know about race at the ages of five which is what sesame Street is geared to Young toddler type children if people think that children need to learn about gay and straight and all that nonsense and wickedness at such a young age they're crazy Tamera was right.
As a young child watching sesame street growing up I was thinking about Bert and Ernie being a couple or not. I didn't care hell I just wanted to sing my Abc's and watch Elmo. I agree with Tamera.
They are trying to push sexuality on kids too young in my opinion. Kids have enough time to learn and understand diff things but at ages 2 and 3 and 4 they just want to learn letters and numbers and sing. I see both sides of their argument though.
Tamara is self-righteous to the point where she sometimes depicts herself as close-minded & ignorant. No, I definitely thought Bert and Ernie were a couple when I was a kid, just like I thought Kermit and Miss Piggy were a couple. It didn't ruin my innocence or make it controversial. Only adults are making this about sex. Kids don't think about sex when they think about couples.
I never thought they were a couple either. I thought they were just friends. However, even gay or straight... most children aren’t exposed to sex and ask where do babies come from. So even if they see Bert and Ernie as in a couple they don’t generally add a sex component to it.

The Kirmit and Ms Piggy scene on the movie ,which was YEARS ago, was something that was clearly appropriate for television back then. Her kids don't know shit about the Muppet movie. If you have ran across the show in present time, it's no where near what it was 30-40 years ago. And I do have a child but seeing how some shows have changed for the better it isn't an issue. The guy who came up with Bert & Ernie can say where he got his inspiration all day. That's just a back story. The main issue was Tamara not letting Jeanie speak and her extra ass attitude. Mother or not she was disrespectful AF.
@@knsworld66 I am together, sweetheart. You don't know what her kids know, hun. You just responded with 4/5 of it being an irrelevant "story". When someone is speaking ignorance from the start sometimes it is appropriate to do what she did regardless if it was a little excessive.

kecola They have to say otherwise to protect their sponsors. And thats only one writer, those puppets have had so many different writers throughout the years. He might have done it that way, but others wrote with something else in mind. Either way, sesame has to protect their sponsors.
kecola He's just a writer -- there have been writers throughout the decade -- but this one comes in with his own personal agenda projecting himself into the character while the creator himself said: they were not gay
From what I heard today, the creators of Ernie and Bert were Jim Henson and his best friend (sorry I don't remember the best friend's name). The characters were not created to be lovers, but best friends. The writer, who wrote for Sesame Street, was gay and said he felt as if he was writing about himself and his own gay lover when he was writing for Ernie and Bert. I think that is where the confusion is. The creator and the writer were coming from different perspectives.
They're talking about two different life experiences so Jeanie saying she "disagrees" was unnecessary. Half the time she's listening more to the voice in her head rather than what the other person is saying.
Jenni says a child would understand it if they live with 2 dads or 2 moms, and if the show came out and said NOPE these characters aren't gay, then it would seem they was saying being gay is wrong.. and that would make the child view being gay in a negative way Tamera is saying it's a learning show, and nothing more than that.
@@amandabargo9851 I’m gonna give of watching Kermit and Miss Piggy in the comic guy that’s a bear or whatever I grew up watching that and I never thought of it as an educational show it’s just a show where they make funny jokes and I thought it was fun I never thought of another educational no kid he’s thinking of that show as educational that’s bull
Jeanie dont make no damn sense....the shows does not potray them as a couple it potrays them as best friends so kids will not correlate relationship with that...they will correlate friendship.
The person who created the characters mirrored them after his own gay relationship. That's all that was said. I mean it's not hard to see they did everything together even slept beside each other. I know when I was coming up kids would call Bert and Ernie gay all the time.
That was another writer who came in later. The original creator sent out a tweet saying that they had no sexual orientation, they were friends and were not created to be gay
@Fay Ann it wasn't necessary at all... she could have disagreed without rolling her eyes and giving her attitude. If we felt it, imagine how Jeanie felt.
If I knew 5 years ago, this topic was going to be shoved down our children’s throats I would’ve payed more attention. Tamera is a family woman, she knows this is wrong.
I really admire how Jeanie isn’t aggressive in her opinion and calls tamera out for cutting her off but at the same time isn’t rude about it.Tamera gives off a vibe like her way is the only way
Tamera was extremely rude. After watching two more segments of her rolling her eyes and making all of those dumb facial expressions anytime Jeannie said something, I was done after that.
Jeanie it'll be ok you're doing just fine but next time don't let her get away with disrespecting you! It's a talk show you're supposed to share opinions. It's ok 2 agree 2 disagree
The thing that pisses me off is why must we go to “genitalia” and sex when we talk about same sex love. If two opposite sex characters liked each other we’d simply pass it off as a cute crush but god forbid we show another type of love. If your kid sees love in all forms trust me they’re not going to thinking about “genitalia” and sex.
Honestly, I’ve been over Tamara since Season 1. She can’t just cut someone off and then get upset when she’s told not to do that. If someone cut her off she’d be the first person to pout and get offended for someone not letting her speak. I feel like Jeannie was speaking generally when she said “your kids do care/ are learning” and Tamara took it as if Jeannie was talking about her kids specifically, that’s where the whole neck rolling and and tongue poppin got started. Ms holier than thou have several seats.
I have friends who have better concepts of parenting and understanding of kids than some of my friends with kids so I would never dismiss any opinion that has good intentions.
But we were once all kids!! Also, most of us are apart of kids lives if they are ours or not. We can easily speak on a experience we have all had like we have all been kids, maybe except for you. Maybe you were born grown.
There's definitely something brewing in the background... this season, they're cutting and disrespecting each other every chance they get. I hope they sort their issues out soon before it costs them their following or worse, their jobs. Take a lesson from music groups; when people start feeling successful, and better than the next person, they think they're bringing more to the table than their peers, forgetting the collective effort that put them there in the first place.
The craziest thing is that Jeannie was absolutely right. So many kids don’t have ideas of all forms of healthy relationships because it’s always trying to be hidden from them. The fact that Sesame Street made a statement going against what the creator said, does give off the interpretation that being gay is not okay. Kids are not stupid, we’ve got to stop treating them like they don’t understand anything.
I called BS on Jeanie! She knows good and got damn well that's not what Bert and Ernie represent. We as kids back in the day...did not think they were anything more than friends!!!
@@@javiruiz4405 ... Well I dont quite know if you asking if I agree wirh Tamara's opinion or not. I will say if that is tge question yes. They are puppets and having young children focusing on gay/lesbian is not acceptable in my opinion. They were there to teach numbers and colors and shapes and how to be kind to everyone. That is what needs to be encouraged and instilled in young children. Love everyone.....
I personally dont think it was something people would expect her to do. She gets attitudes sometimes just like anyone else yk (I'm not butthurt either just voicing my opinion 💀)
April Jackson she tired of Jeanie being fake and acting so deep when topics are not that deep we all know children watching Sesame Street not worrying about if they gay or straight
Honestly as a kid it never crossed my mind, if they were gay. Why does it matter now after all these years anyway. Just leave it be. Bert n Erin have a loving caring relationship. Children see that, and that's what is important. So I guess I agree with Tamera. As far as the attitude, I dont know what's going on behind the scenes. She might be going through something.🤷♀️
I think that's the point. Them being gay should not change anything about how you have come to view them. A gay relationship would typically look like Bert and Ernie the same way a straight relationship would look like Kermit and Ms. Piggy. I don't see anything wrong with a child having that perspective. If they can have a muppet with HIV then I don't see the big deal about a gay one.
Both of them is confused. Kids don't need to be watching cartoons or puppet shows that might be inappropriate. Even if the shows didn't seem like they were gay if a person comes out saying the show was supposed to mean that I wouldn't let my child watch it. Be careful what goes into your children's eyes even if it seems innocent at first.
Why do People feel the need to make every little disagreement between women into a full blown feud...so unnecessary like you can't have a difference of opinions and get in your feelings where you might have a moment of attitude with your friend. Personally I have and you know what were better friends for it, there's no one better to check you than your girl when she knows you tripping and I'm sure backstage Jeannie let Tam know how she felt and they squashed it. Let's stop creating hype to build fake feuds!!!
no kids need to learn about that as well. kids need to know that that is okay so that when a gay kids realizes they're gay, they know that's alright and become comfortable with their own sexuality. there is nothing wrong with kids being aware of that.
Btw. Puppets aren't people, they're not even portraying, I whole heartedly agree with Tamera. Tamera saw that Jeannie was being extra and Jeannie and some other's may not have kids, and understand that seeing stuff like this, and having stuff like this in the media is confusing, why can't they just be puppets who are friends.... why can't it just remain a children's show, why does everything have to be so damn politically correct, like it's annoying. It's a children's show not even a toddler show, like a 3 year old 4 year old show!
Bert and Ernie being a couple doesn't make it any less a children's show. Kermit and Miss Piggy were a couple and they were puppets on a children's show.
Exposing children to a gay lifestyle in a clandestine way is NOT acceptable. People think everyone has to accept and watch that lifestyle whether they agree with it or not. Not everybody wants to teach that to their children, and it's not a NECESSARY life lesson.
Tamera is right why do children need to learn about sexuality at such a young age.. people can raise there children the way they want to but to publicly reinforce these views, ri- damn -diculous! lol
They see straight couples everyday...so what's wrong with seeing gay couples? I don't understand where the message of "sex" came from since that's what everyone is stuck on.
I personally don't want my child seeing all that... I don't care who comes for me! society can raise their child the way they want to and I will do just fine raising mine.. Each to their own..
But...what's "all that"!? They're not having anal on tv...they are just simply in a relationship. In the same way heterosexual cartoon couples are just couples. Why can't homosexual couples just be...couples!?
But how are they going to show that they are in relationship? be affectionate like Kermit and miss piggy? Its not that serious its a childrens programme..
The Tiny Therapist because it’s forced and if something is forced it usually doesn’t last. They just went to push the gay agenda even further and no child is thinking about sexuality period. What child needs to see two puppet men doing what ? Sexual things ? How disgusting even with heterosexual anytime on tv that does that is representing sex disgusting! Every parent has the right not the fuckin writers and creators of the show they need to understand that in 2018 people are still not getting it and you can’t force them to. Some people pretend to be all for it because they know if they disagree that they are going to get backlash. If we say something oh we are offending gay people we are horribly to do that etc hell no ! Everybody is entitled to their own opinion vice versa
Kids don't need to learn about homosexuality until puberty, come on! Tamara is passive, she's probably having a hard time asserting her opinion without snapping.
Y’all aren’t understanding that the issue was the fact that the producers needed to clarify at all. It’s not about puppets - it’s about Sesame Street insinuating that gay is not okay by contradicting the creator.
And being gay shouldn’t make somebody’s mind immediately go to genitalia and sexual activity. Your sexuality is not defined by action, rather feelings/attraction. Would Tamera have said the same about the MANY cartoons with male/female couples
What do puppets being gay have to do with children mimicking? If kids are gay then they’re going to be gay regardless of what they see on TV or in media.
I think they treat Jeannie different because of her intelligence. If you just actually sit back & listen to Jeannie when she speaks she is an very intelligent woman. I love Jeannie & I have noticed lately Tamera attitude is kinda rude. If you are friends you don't treat each other like that while on tv. Have your differences on commercial or when the show is over. So many females are shaddy toward each other yet claiming they have respect for one another. Tamera always throwing her kids up but her marriage ain't what it's cracked up to be. Anyone can pretend to be happy.
I definitely agree with tamara!!! When I was younger and watched Sesame Street I wasn't wondering about if the puppets was gay or not I watched it to learn different stuff! But Tamara is speaking from experience bc she does have children! Jeannie doesnt have no darn children! And I wish people would leave Tamara husband ALONE!
When I was younger and watched Sesame Street, I always thought Bert and Ernie were a couple just like Kermit and Miss Piggy. Not having children doesn't mean that Jeannie's perspective about a show she watched as a kid is less valid. She has experience with the show as well.
I don't think that Tamera is being too sensitive. However, I do think that she's probably just on the defense Bc of her husband's situation. I do think that she has an opinion and has a right to voice that opinion and not back down.
@Annelise Olivares exactly!! I really like Tamera but was shocked that she acted this way. hope it doesn't continue. All Jeannie politely and quietly said was "can I finish" and Tamar got offended.

He's just a writer -- there have been writers throughout the decade -- but this one comes in with his own personal agenda projecting himself into the character while the creator himself said:
they were not gay
From what I heard today, the creators of Ernie and Bert were Jim Henson and his best friend (sorry I don't remember the best friend's name). The characters were not created to be lovers, but best friends. The writer, who wrote for Sesame Street, was gay and said he felt as if he was writing about himself and his own gay lover when he was writing for Ernie and Bert. I think that is where the confusion is. The creator and the writer were coming from different perspectives.

Tamera is 100% correct, there's a time and place to talk to your children, and if you don't have any she don't know the struggle.
I love tam and I agree with what she said but her reaction was most definitely uncalled for
2:58 jeannie mai .....just because Sesame Street says they're not gay doesn't mean Sesame Street is homophobic
Right!
Tamera was rolling her eyes and clapping her hands. I have never seen her do that. Maybe there is something going on with her.
Haha.
@T Y maybe but the character contracted HIV from a blood transfusion as an infant.
Tamera can get her point across without all that attitude
Tamera just salty
Benjamin Cameron she is just a trump supporter
Why do People feel the need to make every little disagreement between women into a full blown feud...so unnecessary like you can't have a difference of opinions and get in your feelings where you might have a moment of attitude with your friend. Personally I have and you know what were better friends for it, there's no one better to check you than your girl when she knows you tripping and I'm sure backstage Jeannie let Tam know how she felt and they squashed it. Let's stop creating hype to build fake feuds!!!
Tamara has been on edge a lot recently. Ima pray for her 🙏🏼
I love how she said let me finish LMAO.
Tamera was right
@@ronnierose3061 ok
See watching this episode drove me crazy! Just bc the creators said they weren’t gay doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing just that they weren’t🤷🏽♀️😂
Jenie needs to take a chill pill kids don’t need to learn about this when they extremely young they need to learn about kindness
no kids need to learn about that as well. kids need to know that that is okay so that when a gay kids realizes they're gay, they know that's alright and become comfortable with their own sexuality. there is nothing wrong with kids being aware of that.
I agree with Tamera, as a child all I cared about was learning and nothing else. I do respect how respectful Jeanie is
Exposing children to a gay lifestyle in a clandestine way is NOT acceptable. People think everyone has to accept and watch that lifestyle whether they agree with it or not. Not everybody wants to teach that to their children, and it's not a NECESSARY life lesson.
Jeannie S. street didnt say it was a problem for them to be gay theh said they wasnt gay.. Why did she take that so deep...
Some people pretend to be all
for it because they know if they disagree that they are going to get backlash. If we say something oh we are offending gay people we are horribly to do that etc hell no ! Everybody is entitled to their own opinion vice versa
Thank you ! Kids aren’t worried about what sex the puppets are, only adults! Just enjoy it is what it is
I liked Tamera's cattyness here though lol she's usually sweet and classy but she aint gonna let someone walk all over her
No one was trying to walk all over her? She was just sensitive
Putting labels particularly sexual labels is inappropriate for children Period!
Tamera is 100% correct
Damn Tamera facial expressions is something I can see tia making😂 I understand and agree with both ladies even tho I'm not gay and I don't have kids.
Kids don't need to learn about homosexuality until puberty, come on! Tamara is passive, she's probably having a hard time asserting her opinion without snapping.
That cartoon is still one of my faves👌🏽 I never thought about gay it really taught me to not need a roommate if anything📚 💼 💰 💴
@@cr3413 it's does to children because they mimic what they see most of the time
do you have kids ?
@@cr3413 The CREATOR is never contradicting
They got her looking real Asian today since the Julie Chen scandal
IKR 😹🤦🏽♀️
😂😂😂
What ? 😂😭😂😭😂😭😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmaoooo what 😭😭😭
stooopppidd . I CAN NOT !!!! lmaoo
I agree with Tamera
Me too!
tamera really tried it jeanie handled that very classy but it couldn’t have been me
LET KIDS BE KIDS!! OMG!! THEY CAN DECIDE WHEN THEY GET OLDER!! LET THEM LEARN TO COUNT AND PLAY IN THE DIRT.... I AGREE WITH TAMERA
