- In this episode, we install some early model euro bumpers onto the drift car!
Yes, it is a drift car and I don't necessarily NEED euro bumpers and yes, it is a relatively expensive part to have in the US but the car needed something more stylish than the messed up US spec bumpers that were already on it so I figured I may as well up the style points and install these bad boyz! Not to mention, these bumpers CAME with the purchase of this car as apart of the deal so how could I not install them!?
The install process was fairly straight forward and the outcome was very well worth it and, in my opinion, very well worth the price of the parts.

My son just got a E30 from my wife's coworker as a gift. He is so excited. Just got some coil overs and took out the interior. I replaced hes old radio for one with bluetooth yesterday. He is trying to look for rims and tires. We perched a timing kit with the water pump and points but the send the wrong kind 😕. I have a 67 Chevy c10 that I'm working on but I tell you I'm having more fun on this little car because it doesn't fight you on anything you do on it. Thanks for the video he is ordering a bumper kit as well so this is really going to help.

Dang looks sweet. Wish my bumpers shined like yours. I think early models with euro bumpers look better then late models.
J Rod it was pretty rough when I first opened them but I polished them out a bit and they turned out nice! And I agree, I love me an early model with euro bumpers 😍

I love my face lift shocks they came in handy when some bastard hit me 😒 luckily the shocks took most of the impact & it only gave me a small crack on my front bumper

Could you use those mounts and do this with late model plastic bumpers
These mounts only work for early model cars with euro bumpers i believe. If you wanted to put plastic bumpers on an early model, you would need to get the stock late model bumper shocks and install those to mount them 😁👍
damn bro when you were mounting the rear bumper you started with the sun out and we come back when its night time lol. Slow and steady wins the race I guess. Also at 8:29 when you stop laughing at how you gotta do it by yourself theres someone in the background laughing at what you said lol.

What year is your car? Will this make an m1 body kit on my 1987 32ie? It's pre facelift I believe with the vertical lights
This car is a 1986 and your car should be able to fit an mtech 1 body kit as long as you have the euro bumpers installed as well.

I gotchuuu 👍 I'll piece together a list in the description and I'll comment again once its uploaded. Used euro bumpers are kinda tough to get your hands on though depending where you are. In the US, you can typically find it on the forums, facebook pages, Craigslist or even some instagram pages like @e30projects who I think should have a few sets coming in from Europe soon.

I just got an 86’ 325e and I’m trying to get rid of the diving board bumpers. Do you have to do a euro conversion in order to install a body kit like mtech? Are there vendors that have kits for the diving board bumpers?
Congrats on the new car man! And I haven't personally installed an mtech kit on an E30 but I believe you do need a front euro bumper when installing an mtech1 front valence. I did have an early model zender front valence and had it mocked up with the euro front bumper and it looked alright; might work with US bumpers but wont look as good. As for vendors, I would check out classiceuroparts.com 😁👍

steve michaelides they came with the car as apart of the deal when I bought it but I believe my buddy bought the bumpers for $550ish and the brackets were around $150 I believe for front and rear.

Lol tell me about it. Im not much knowledgeable on e30s. Im planning to get one soon. from where my budget is at, im looking to get the early models coz its cheaper. Planning on drifting it too. how are these cars in terms of making them slide?
@@MistermookS haha i feel it and theyre dope cars to slide but not as straight forward to get to drift-spec than e36s imo. E36's are simpler and better out the box thanks to the better suspension design (i.e. different rear trailing arm setup), stronger/generally better motor, cheaper & more plentiful parts, etc. Im no drift expert though but this is also info I've gathered from others with experience. E30s get you style points tho haha

derkm okk sick, i’m looking into an 87 right now only thing is the back. i like the look but i’m trying to see if maybe there’s a valance i could use to “hide” just a bit more of what’s underneath (tire and exhaust)
@@ADAMSVEND ahh I know exactly what you mean man. They make aftermarket rear aprons like the zender ones or you can even cut off the rear apron from a late model and make a way to mount them on an early model. That's what one of my buddy's did. I personally dont mind the look with euro bumpers tho 😊
derkm yea yea that makes sense, question do you have instagram, can i actually get your opinion on the e30 i’m looking into. i’ve only got a couple of buddies who own bmw’s (e36’s) and it’d be cool to get an opinion from someone who basically owns the same model (sedan tho)

Its alot shorter and is better looking (in most people's opinion) than the US spec diving board bumpers 😁
