Great sounding books as always. Thanks for including the shots of your bookshelves. That is the room of a proper booklover! Also, the view of your yard with flowers gives me hope for spring. My ground here in Western Canada is still snow covered.😟
Thanks Bing! Ooh it sounds like you’ll be a while longer waiting for spring but it’s always nice when it eventually comes round. Hard to imagine the seasons are so different in other parts of the world 😊
I love your bookshelves! I've just finished Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan, what a skilled writer she is. It's the first book by her I've read and I'll definitely be looking out for more.
Hahaha!! Very important note about the fact that you were only reading at halftime! Just bought The New Policeman yesterday thanks to your recommendation. Fingers crossed I enjoy it. Also, lovely to see Galway cathedral, one of my favourite more modern churches. I’m from Cork myself but did my master’s in Galway so I spent a year living quite near that area. I’m living in Spain now so I’m always happy to watch your videos which remind me of home.
Thanks Eavan I’m glad you enjoyed! I was afraid someone might be offended, I get enough strange looks for reading even at half time 😁 It is such a lovely part of the city, and I appreciate it more now that I’m in the city centre less, working from home and in an industrial estate.
Terrific vlog! I enjoyed hearing your developing thoughts about the John Banville book. I’ve yet to try Paul Lynch, though I guess I feel like I should.
Thanks Pat 😊 I wasn’t aware of him until Prophet Song last year to be honest but if you’re okay with a bit of an unusual writing style he has covered unusual topics in the 2 books I’ve read!
. Hi Lisa, thank you for introducingy me to John Banville. and your channel. I love Irish literature. I’m originally from New York City, so I’ve been introduced to Irish literature from a young age. Love to hear you speak. Aloha from hawaii.
I need to read more John Banville. I read Doctor Copernicus a few years ago and it wasn't my favourite. Loved this vlog Lisa, and loved all your thoughts on The Rachel Incident! I will prob get to it next week in the nick of time before the readathon finishes up haha. Also Lisa, slightly concerned if those books fall in the middle of the night, you may suffer death by books hahaha
Thanks Margaret! I have got a bit distracted playing with the sewing machine this weekend when I had a bit more time -- too many hobbies and too little time!
Has to be done! I just fantasise about being able to see all of my books at once, though when I have more space I'll probably just fill that as well...
CDs are wonderful! Never have any shame about keeping CDs. Great Irish readathon.
It is handy to have a few for the car at the very least anyways! Thanks Bob 😊
So delighted you joined us this year 💚 it was our best Readathon yet!

I absolutely loved The Rachel incident.. I’m really enjoying my books for the Readathon 😊
Brilliant that’s great to hear Emily 😊 The Rachel Incident definitely had a lot in it!
I'm enjoying it too! Quite interesting and funny.

Love the sewing class update, the bridge shots at night, and the darning mushroom 😍

I call that BRILLIANT use of airspace getting all those books in!!

Oh, brava for reading the Constitution--extra credit for sure!
Haha at least its not too long :-P
Looks like the kitty's getting some reading done as well (of the newspaper!) 😛
He actually loves sitting on paper, we do turn the page for him every so often and ask him if there's anything interesting in it!
