Always nice to see more of these! I agree with you that beautiful foliage is actually more important than beautiful flowers because realistically, that's what you see over 90% of the time
I started in the hobby as a houseplant grower, yet since I came from Indonesia, many orchids came from there and I thought I should look into it, after learning from hybrids, I got into orchid species, as much as flowers are nice , I’m still very into weird leaves ! The Paraphalaenopsis in part 1 was one of my favorite orchid due to how different it was as well, I really liked how different the Dendrobium senile looks too ! Just after watching this, my local orchid store shared pictures of Dendrobium senile for sale 😂 But there’s so few informations about them here in Indonesia, and will it adapt to my climate, so I’ll research about that first 🥲 But this has been a joy to look at ! Love all those Orchids foliage too, I purchased the Coconut orchid / Maxilaria tenuifolia for the same reason, “if it can’t bloom, I can still have a nice plant” 😂, same reason why I raise a stuartiana that, unfortunately, will never bloom in my climate 😅
i was under the impression that Indonesia would have amazing climate for orchids, do you mean they might not bloom because of the lack of low temperatures? a lot of orchids dont really need cold, just for the the temperatures to lower a bit for a few weeks. Although i know very little about the climate, other than it seems absolutely beautiful there! But i agree, Orchids can make such lovely houseplants! we have ours all in one room for convenience, but i need to remember to take the prettier ones around the house even when they are not in bloom. thank you so much for your nice comment!
@@PetalsSepalsandSpines Indonesia honestly is such a huge and diverse place, hence generalizing it can be very hard, I come from the extreme lowland (just 3-37,5 meter above sealevel). Here, the heat are intense, although yes, we are blessed year round with great humidity, but the heat also means things dries up quickly in the intense heat of the sun, and the temperature often is too high for them to be okay with. The average temperature here is 36 celsius - 26 celsius, (some night even reaches 32 celsius when the with heat season arrives). At the rainy season it can reach around 32 - 24, most of us here grows the orchid in the hot - warm zone, the temperatures means intermediate orchid will just refuse to grow/bloom in our climate. Phalaenopsis schilleriana is a famous example among Indonesians where every time it spiked, if grown on low lands, will never produce flowers, just keikis. (Sorry, I confused it with Stuartiana) But, In other more mountainous regions of Indonesia, people do grow very amazing orchids ! Yet, where I come from, the heat is too intense, occasionally and often, I had to adapt the orchid to such intense heat around my town 😅 I usually avoid orchids above 800+ meters above sealevel, but often I too cannot resist temptation to try to adapt them 😅 For many lowland growers of Indonesia, we call ourself “The lowland rebels” where we try to adapt higher land orchids into our space 😂🤣; there’s even one doctor who tried to tissue culture orchids so she can raide local orchids of Indonesia to adapt them into the lowlands, but her work still is only her own experimentation until she finds any further success. Likewise, I really like the channel ! 🙏
I really enjoy this series. Great selections. The lockhartia is really cool looking. Your part one enticed me to buy a dendrobium uncatum this year lol.🫣🙂
so cool! i really like our uncatum, if you figure out how to succesfully bloom it let us know, ours makes flowers but they wilt before opening. i think i might need to water it more diligently cause it's mounted.
I absolutely enjoyed this playlist! Had to sub due to your extensive knowledge and unique orchids of course
Very glad you made a part 2, I love how different they all are!
yes, we just got the lockhartia, and that made it a very varied group! we might have to get a few more to make part three... :P

Now if only i would display them more around the house...
Amazing video ❤❤❤
Thank you!!
I love seeing more of your collection. I just wish we had more available in the UK 🙄
yes, now it must be much harder to order from the nurseries in the rest of Europe... it's such a pitty.
