On the Vector 16HX A14X the metal cover on the memory slots is no longer glued. There are metal clips on the motherboard, 2 at each side, and you can unclip it by gently lifting the cover with a plastic tool.
Thanks man :) this helped a lot as I thought the clips were soldered onto the board
I recommend if your doing this, when your putting it back together make sure you snap the audio jack side of the case on first.
Otherwise you will end up like me having to redo the whole unclipping the case thing because it looks bent and not snug if you don’t do that side first.
Just did this to upgrade to 64gb ram
Could you please also make a video of GP68 hx??? I am very confused with the upgrade options as I watched this. GP68 and GP78 is basically a same lineup with only different in size but it seems like they offer different upgrade options? At Msi website it specifies that the GP68 ram is limited to 4800mhz and the ssd slot is consisted of 1 slot of gen 5 + 1 slot of gen 3. But it seems like the GP78 has 5800mhz and 1 gen 5 + 1 gen 4 ssd slots.
My gp68 has a 5600 ram 16gb but i have the i913thgen it also depends on your processer and motherboard but since we have the same model you should keep in Mind which CPU u have
Check your CPU specs for what speed memory it supports
I didnt catch the latter part of your video. We can upgrade Memory RAM, SSD and what was the other thing?. Thanks for the clarification.
@Laptopmedia
Hello this is great. Can you tell me how to do a keyboard replacement on this model or maybe make a video for it too ? Thank you very much
@laptopmedia Three of the metal parts around the ram cover were broken. One of them fell on its motherboard, but no matter what I did, I couldn't find it. Will I have any problems?
What was the function of the metal parts?
Does this system have liquid metal inside?
Not have
that one dislike is from msi engineer who designed this
Спасибо. Действовал по вашему сценарию. Очень помогло.
Thanks!
gracias
Yeah well i’ve been at this for a long time
So you don't make the same mistake as me and break stuff: Do NOT push a plastic piece into the sides, or at the front. You will break off the small plastic hooks. Only use it in the back of the laptop.
Which ssd slot is Gen5?
The empty one
@@VeGoVeVO Thank you, Sir.
