For those that do not have a remote with a pairing button: community.roku.com/t5/Remotes-Accessories/No-Pairing-Button-On-New-Remote/td-p/540157. For those that only have one remote, you can just power up your Roku device and hold down the pairing button for 3-5 seconds and the Roku will attach the remote to the box. This was only one way that this could be done with 2 remotes.
I got the roku with no volume button..and power button..so obviously ..i need a upgraded remote..so I go on Amazon..and all i see is roku remotes that are compatible with only TCL and sharp brand tvs! I have a 10 yr old vizio non smart tv? Thanx for your help
@@edubb2491 The remote can pair with all types of tvs. It will blast the IR light at the tv and pick up the type that is being used. So even if you have a old vizio you should still be good.
I have a Roku TV. No stick comes with them. Lost my remote and I can’t bring up my Home Screen. How do I pair my new one to work my tv?

OMGosh - You saved me ; )) My new Roku TV remote was so light, skinny and with smaller buttons. It was awkward to say the least. I had a nice enhanced remote with voice from my Roku stick and paired it with the new TV and waa laa - it worked! It did take a a few times to get it paired but it could have been user error. Thanks so much.
OMG IM SO EXCITED THIS ACTUALLY WORKED!!!! My Roku tv remote doesn’t have voice recognition or a Sling preprogrammed button but my other Roku in my Sons room does so I found ur video and it went. Didn’t even take more then 15 mins. Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much! I couldn't find the remote to my Roku smart TV but had a remote laying around from my old roku device...and once I hit pair it just automatically found my new TV and synced. I couldn't do anything besides turn the TV on since I didn't have the remote and luckily I didn't have to navigate any menus on the TV like the video instructed...once I hit pair on the remote it still worked.

I got a new remote and was going to follow the steps in this video but all I did was put the batteries in and it did everything itself, I did absolutely nothing. How awesome is that. Thanks for your video anyway and I’ll leave a thumbs up 👍

Yo..where did you get the new remote with the volume buttons..and power buttons..went on amazon and found remotes only compatible with TCL tvs?

a fix for this is to use a hotspot on 1 device and the roku remote on another. youre gonna change the hotspots name and password to the last connection info the roku was connected too. it should mistake it as the connection it had before, and then you connect a device to that same hotspot and use the roku remote app

Steven Sandoval i dont think so. because theres no previous connection that the roku can mistake the hotspot for. youd probably need another remote

I am trying to pair the roku remote to use with regular TV programming if possible.
This remote will only work to turn the tv on and off and the volume. It can not do other tv programming controls.
How do you get it to cast

Thank you for your video however I have a on ONN Roku Smart TV from Walmart and my grandchildren lost the remote so I went on Walmart's website to order another remote The remote that was delivered yesterday was just in a clear little package and I cannot pair it to the television because it does not have the pairing button so I'm going to return it to Walmart. I was just wondering if there's any way to pair a TV to a remote or pair a remote to a TV without the pairing button? I think I may already know the answer to that. This is been a big inconvenience why would Walmart sell a remote that does not have a pairing button I know you don't have the answer to that but I think that is nuts.
This does seem to be something that comes across a lot with the roku tv not having a paring button with the remote. However, if the roku is already setup you might be able to use the roku app on your smart phone to pair the remote without a button to the roku tv. I have a Roku 3900x Roku express, updated software. It refuses to pair with my new Roku Voice remote. Some tv controls work and some don't, but it won't receive audio, the whole point of buying the new remote.

0:50 this is that part I’m stumped on cause I’ve completely lost my old roku remote and I’ve just recently switched internet providers, in order to use the roku app I need to have the tv connected to the same internet as my phone and I can’t do that without a remote, any advice?
Your Roku should have a hard rest button on it. If you use that it will be like getting a new Roku, which also means it will go through the pairing mode again for a remote.
I just got a whole new ROKU system and I can't seem to Pair my remote. When I go to my TV it shows an image of 3. shapes that look like an egg that has an image in the shaped of an egg and the middle image shows a 5. next to it with a circle around the 5. with a finger pointing to the Pairing button on the back of the remote and I don't have a Pairing button on the back of my remote. That is how the remote came out of the box. Nothing is happening and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I hope this helps you help me. Thank You! for sharing this video.
Is this a Roku TV or Roku set top box? Durrning the setup process for a new Roku you should be able to just put the batteries in the remote and point it at the tv if there is not a pairing button on the remote.
this is great thanks , and i have followed, remote is now paired and working, except voice command is not working, nothing happens when i press the microphone button, and the button is missing on the phone remote control app too ? and ideas ?
Depending on the device you're trying to control with it it might not support it which is why it's not showing up.
