I am from Paraguay and live in Canada. I purchased a lot in 2019 40 km from Asuncion for a very reasonable price it's like cottage now. My family helped me to plant many trees, fruits trees and flowers etc. My plan is to live there after my son graduate from high school. Paraguay is very hot but if you find a way to insulate your house and live away from the city it would be great.

    Beautiful country
    Amazing people
    Non woke
    'Great' food
    Really on the way up
However, and I'm sorry to say this..
I was exstahuted by customs officials in Ascension who tried to claim we smuggled our precious metals, it was horrific and they stole my gold which was completely legal with recipients from the UK and in the form of minted currancy. This makes it very difficult for me to move savings into Paraguay.

I would like to make it clear, Paraguay is a good option and I would love to invest there, but this experience of corruption makes it difficult for me personally to make this decision.
