    Really appreciate this review, open box of a working man's work horse. Tired of people reviewing 1200 dollar scopes as if everyone has a budget for it as a must have.

    Droptine is the line that scope belongs too. The holdover you speak of is there ballistic Plex reticle or bdc.

    Very nice review. The budget lines from Burris are great and made in the Philippines not China and include their no questions asked NO BS forever warranty unlike Bushnell no wonder they got an F according to the BBB.
    Even the Chinese made Burris Signature HD scopes are fantastic with noticeably much higher quality glass and construction than other popular USA branded Chinese made scopes. Their Chinese Fullfield IVs are nice too. Seems as though you would never guess their Chinese scopes are actually Chinese made based on their actual quality.
    Burris is actually a lot more affordable compared to buying Leupold and Burris has way nicer turrets too.
    It seems as though Burris took over where Nikon left the scope business.

    Droptine is the scope series, not the reticle. They use that reticle in more than one scope series. Philippines is better than China. I wonder if some of the newer scopes they make are China now? They had some price drops, in scope price, and although quality may be same, I dont care for them going China if they did. I've had nothing but good experience with Burris and their customer service. Also, on scope rings, dont go over 22-25 inch pounds even if ring maker says otherwise(DNZ), trust me. Had one get crushed and Burris replaced. If use DNZ rings, use their old torque spec of 22 to 25 in/lbs.

      I sold a Burris scope because the magnification ring was WAY to stiff to turn . Sent it back twice to Burris and they said functioning correctly. I absolutely couldn’t believe it so I sold it and now I only but leupold.

    • @Hill_Billy_Without_A_Hill
      @Hill_Billy_Without_A_Hill 3 роки тому +1

      @@kurtwilhelm3823 I've had good luck with Burris. They even replaced a scope that DNZ rings new torque spec crushed the scope. If you have DNZ rings, only torque to a max of 25 inch pounds, which is the old spec. Over that and your at risk depending on scope tube wall thickness which is usually not advertised, or a max torque the scope can handle. I've never had one with the old torque spec come loose. Id ask the manufacturer what they recommend for max ring torque using their scope. I've liked DNZ rings for years, but the CEO owner I was talking to about all this was a idiot.

    Good review and I have never owned "really" expensive scopes and own many lower-cost scopes. I find the same thing you find, good glass, good durability, and sustain over time. The biggest problem I have had with lower cost scope is the thickness of the reticle; not all but many. Some other good low cost scopes that hold up well Simmons and Leapers. I have a Leupold right now that has to go back to the factory and not a good story as a chance at a nice little first deer/buck for my son could not be had as the scope had completely fogged. "Shoot!" "I can't see dad." Ugh.

    I just got one of these today for my Ruger American Rimfire. The scope ($130), rings (also Burris) and caps came out to about $200 total which is just fine for a .22 plinking rifle. I do have Leupold on my Ruger American Hunter .308 that I put a 3-9x50 VX-Freedom with a red dot in the crosshair that's fantastic for that rifle but the Burris seems ideal for a simple rimfire rifle. Also, that the Burris scope is made in the Philippines didn't bother me too much either. All I asked the salesman for is a scope that is NOT made in China. I know it's impossible in many cases but where possible, I try not to support the CCP when I can.

      And their F rating by the BBB proves their extremely shady warranty practices too google "Bushnell warranty complaints" and "Bushnell customer complaints" and their electronics only have a limited I e year warranty including the Illuminated reticles in their scopes under the guise of a lifetime warranty which isn't even a real lifetime or forever warranty not like Burris.

    What the hell is a budget scope? there is no rule or set price for budget. Everyone has there own concept of budget. Saying budget scopes is just like saying assault rifle. no such thing or every rifle is an assault rifle. A scope can be in a budget range but it cant be a budget.

      I think by budget, it's referring to spending less on the scope than what you spent on the rifle. That's sometimes the unwritten "rule" is that you're supposed to spend as much on your scope/optics as you do on the rifle. That is of course, BS.

    No-Thank-Your -- scope cost me a beautiful hunt in Africa because of their flaws scope would not stay zeroed. Had to take scope off and hunt with iron sights , had to pass on animals over 100 yds as front sight covered up what you are aiming at.
