      I was wondering about the 2 watches as well? The creek side campsite really looks like something now,, great job! Love that stove so many different features plus add on’s like the water tank, leg and chimney extensions. Thanks for sharing , really have loved the setting up the creek camp site .

    A layer of fire brick underneath could raise it up a bit and help retain heat in the tent

    being 6' 4" myself this is a huge deal for me. it's ashame how much we Tall Kings have to hunch over any convenience to make things taller is a big win 👌

      6' - 6" here (Dutch) Installed my kitchen countertop about 1" higher than advised by kitchen guy. He said it would be too high, but he was wrong.

    Camped in Minnesota during mid Feb heart of winter. Temps hit -27 at least at night and it kept me plenty warm with two stoking through the night. Now I use almost daily tailgating at ski resorts and living @ gold camp near Twin Lake,CO. Absolutely love this stove, many wholesome fires to come with yours👉

    A little higher stove height will help disperse the heat a little better as well....creek side camp site is coming along nicely.

      Heat rises, you want the hot object as low as possible to heat the cold air first before it rises above it.

    That's a great little fireplace! It would be great for cooking over on those cold nights.
    Maybe get yourself some cast iron cookware to keep in the tent

    a chimney has to be 3' above the roof on the short side and 2' above any structure within 10' according to my home inspection course. best of luck. been watching for years and although I might not agree with 100% of everything you say I love the direction you have been going with the videos! keep it up!

    A couple comments:
    1) “All that soot” comes from burning softwood. Hardwood (like east coast oak) burns a lot cleaner, not to mention longer.
    2). The rule of thumb I learned about chimneys is three feet higher than anything within ten feet. Looks like you need another section or two to clear your ridge.

    For a simi permanent structure like that and plans to spend a great deal of time there I would just opt for a good cast iron stove. Much more efficient, retains and radiates more heat.

    I too would have wanted it higher for the same reasons.
    Being thrifty myself, I probably would have built a table or box
    for it to sit on but your way is more portable I suppose.

      @wranglerstar no, look at the border of the domincan republic and Haiti. One uses word to cook with one user's natural gas.
      One still has trees, the other is completely denuded.
      Europe's forest cover is the highest its been in centuries for a reason.

    Bayraktar Semaver Stainless Steel Chrome Turkish Tea Kettle Samovar Camping Heater Boiler, is an excellent cheap choice and adds humidity to the area. Not to mention hot water for coff/tea

    I like this guy, but every time he says willwood instead of winnerwell it bothers me. I am a huge fan of WINNERWELL products. Their quality is top notch, innovation is 2nd to none. If you really like their products please show them enough respect to get their name right. Keep up the tent vids im loving it.

    I think they might make them low to warm feet? I will be buying one, God willing, without the extra side window, as everyone says it's so hard to keep clean. I want the small one as all my projects are unambitious, but people say too much soot can build and flashover ignite inside the smaller pipes.

    After having had that stove in place for awhile would you consider placing it(with regular legs) on some kind of waist high stand? Tree round section maybe? Just bought my first piece of land, and Im taking inspiration from your canvas cabin build while I get started over here in NH. Thank you! God bless

    Jack up a 30" x 24" x 2" patio slab with brick support to your desired height under your stove to hold kindling and wood.

    Would you recommend this as a replacement for a propane patio heater? I’m sure it’s more effective in an tent than an open patio. I’m just curious if the warmth rivals one of those funny looking Chinese patio heaters. If so it’d be on my shortlist.

    I'm not saying it won't work just fine as is; but is the outside part of the leg attachment "supposed" to go the other way around so that the leg is less able to slide up when the nut loosens a bit?

    You could put brick or concrete pavers under it. Protect the wood floor from embers and raise it 2 more inches.

    How about a outter cover around the stovepipe like a welders blanket from HF. Stop from burning holes in the canvas and help spread the heat.

    Seems like it might need some sort of spark arrestor cap on it if you can find one flush with the pipe so you could pull it back through cleaning every so often

      Simple, roll up some screen, fold the top and slip it in.

      The top section is exactly that. It is the same diameter as the flue so it can be pulled through the canvas.

    Look at any photo of any home built before 1900 with a chimney. They are always taller than the peak of the roof. Design by people who lived with a fire every day of the year, and did not want to breathe smoke.

      Made in china , kinda crappy. Look into cub mini or mini grizzly made in Canada. Black and brass finished classy looking.

    I must admit..... I AM A PACKAGE OPENER.... I open everything. In the car while driving i found myself opening ENGINE PARTS... For my race car.... V8 rods... pistons. I KNOW WHATS IN THERE... I BUILD MY OWN MOTORS.. Yet i cant help myself..
