I can confirm this, becuase i had a conversation a long time ago who literally one said this: "Because it's 2020, not 1960, they're not going to make a game full of songs that only 40-year-olds know and who aren't going to buy the game." And not only that, they also criticize other genres that are not pop, kpop or reggaeton.

After Just Dance 2022 I stopped getting every version. This is because of the lack of male dances. In Just dance 2021 almost every extreme was a male dancer. I love dancing to them. But now I think I’m just going to either get bored of the only male dances in this version or feel silly having to do girl moves. I hope the Just Dance team acknowledges this and tries to make more male dances next year.
I wish they just made it into one game and then released song packs/individual songs for you to buy as add-ons. Because then you could pick which ones you actually like and want to purchase instead of having to buy a full priced game every year just to only play the few you like Another upside of doing this is that all the songs you have in your library from over the years are all in one place, instead of having to keep searching for which year had a certain song you want to play and then changing the disk/game cartridge multiple times
As a fan of Just Dance and AC - sad to see the Ubisoft's situation; even though they took loyal, real gamers for granted. I recently made a John Wick style action montage using SC Blacklist stylish takedowns. Looks badass with music I chose. If only we got a JW game from Ubi. They had all the right tools already from SC and Watch Dogs. Too late now...
