- People love to make up tons and tons of Pokemon theories and rumors, but not all of them are exactly great or believable. So, lets take a look at some of the worst Pokemon theories and rumors I could find and see exactly whats so bad about them!

A Pikachu, shouldn't be able to take out an Onix, or fully evolved Pokémon, then lose to a petty 1st stage. Levels or not, it just doesn't make any sense.
When I was in 3rd grade I fell for a rumor that you can catch Piplup in the pond in Twinleaf Town, Turrtwig in the patch of grass in the lake with Mesprit, and Chimchar on route 201. All in Diamond and Pearl. I had Diamond. Good times.
Why would you want to go to a place to get a bunch of Charmanders, Squitles, and Bulbasaurs, if you need Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur to get there? LOL

Assuming for a second that Red and Ash really are brothers and part of the same universe.
So, if Red really was Ash's older brother and sent back his Pikachu to protect and help Ash, then how did he know Ash would even get it? Ash wasn't supposed to get Pikachu. He was supposed to get a regular starter Pokemon, but overslept and arrived too late. You telling me Red knew Ash was gonna oversleep on that fateful day and end up with Pikachu?
I guess red left pikachu with oak and after ash missed his starter oak decided to give ash his brother's Pokemon? I dunno

KINGD353 Yep, 'tis real. Inkay only evolves if you turn the console upside down after Level 30.
Not exactly sure when you're supposed to turn it upside down or how long because I haven't been able to get it to work consistently but that's how it's done.
Unlike the past consoles the 3DS has a gyroscope, so it actually knows when the console moves and in what direction (which isn't too precise, thus the issues).
The AR functionality - as seen in games like Pokémon Dream Radar and Bravely Default - uses it to orient the clouds and cutscenes displayed using it in those games.
But Inkay only evolves into Malamar by turning the console upside down because the 3DS has a gyroscope. The gameboy color did not.
at first i thought inkay was going to evolve into a dragon knowing it had an evolution but not what it was until i got to lvl 83 and i found that i had to turn it upside down and i was like fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

He hangs out with Pokemon and understands them, at most it's genetics. ( Yes, referring to Pokefelia. Come and hate me ) I still refuse to believe, however, N is a Zoroark. It's way too bogus.

Obviously he returned it to it's pokeball or it ran off somewhere else. And he had one on his team in Black/White originally, he couldn't have used himself in battle, lol. He's able to understand them (supposedly) cause Ghetsis locked him up with them for years and so eventually he could tell what they wanted. And don't even get me started on the fact that people back up this stupid theory with the fact that the hair ponytail is the same/similar -_-

I hate that theory too! The main pieces of evidence people use to “back up” that theory are “he can talk to Pokémon” and “they have the same hair”. The first one is better explained by the fact that he grew up surrounded by Pokémon and they were his only friends, and the second one is just dumb.
that deoxys theorie might actually be plausible. Sounds like a fun event to catch deoxys (even though it's not true).
I like the Red is ash's brother theory, I know it can't be cannon but if it wasn't for the different universes it'd be a pretty cool theory

It's almost satirical. Back in the day, no one cared how they trained their pokemon, they just wanted to get them to level 100. Now, it's always IVs and EVs and Natures, and all that shit.

Yeah, that theory is pretty awesome. Personally, I'm more curious about the theory that Ash and Red are the same person, but from different dimensions.
***** Yeah, and if that was true, then Brock would still be the leader of the Pewter Gym, there wouldn't be a Team Rocket existing in the anime, and Ash would be facing an older version of Blue in the Viridian Gym instead of Jessie and James. Same thing goes with the Fuchsia Gym and Koga. He would instead be battling Janine. And considering that the events of Generation 1 and 3 happen at nearly the same time, there also wouldn't be a Team Magma or Aqua around when Ash travels to Hoenn and May wouldn't be younger than him.

What about the Coma theory? Where Ash was in a coma and the entire anime was just a dream? I find that the worst because it makes watching 18 seasons a big waste of time and if that theory comes true, it would be a deus ex machina that retconned the entire show. And how can Ash be in a coma for seventeen years? A coma that long without waking up to eat would kill a person. So, I think that's the worst theory.

This number one theory in this video is actually true now in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. It is not the exact same as the original "go to the moon" thing, but it is almost close enough because u go to outer space. No spoilers since not everybody has played the game and it's arguably the best part of the R/S remakes.
I think the developers did that on purpose for that same reason.

Since you had an image of that theory that claims Psyduck and Golduck's names are the wrong way round, I felt it necessary to say this, especially since they were clustered with the theories I assume you said are believable.
Pokemon came from Japan. So basically, if you can say the same about their Japanese names, it should be true. Golduck's Japanese name is Gorudakku, which is pretty much the same thing. However, Psyduck's name is Kodakku, which basically means small/young duck, and that is exactly what Psyduck is.
In other words, Psyduck and Golduck's names weren't switched round by accident. It was all intentional.
He pretty much knows that, but other probably don't... to continue the elaboration on this as to why Golduck... the blue duck is called well... Golduck it's because in japan Gold is usually associated with Psychic abilities, hence why in Japan the Mash Badge is actually called the Gold Badge, and some psychic related items have gold in their name or are colored gold.

What's really funny about the second one, the one with the Electabuzz and the three starters. It sounds so obscure to be true and is clearly fake. However, it reminds me of how one is supposed to catch the three Regi-monsters in Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. You need to have two RANDOM set Pokémon, with absolutely no hints in game, in the front of your party and the back of your party, and be able to read braille...
The two pokemon are ALWAYS Relicanth and Wailord. You don't need to be able to read it, just Google it.
When I meant random 'set', I mean there is absolutely no way to figure it out in game. I know it's always Wailord and Relicanth, but I mean, there is no way to discover that in game without Googling it. Hence, random pokemon, set choices. That's the only flaw I had with Emerald.
It tells you in the Sealed Chamber that you need Relicanth first and Wailord last. I managed to figure that out using a dictionary I have with braille listed in it.

Well actually, in the manga, which is based on the games, red captures a Pikachu.
Also, why do people get mad when Pokemon look similar to other Pokemon anyway, calling them "unoriginal" "ripoffs" and such? I mean, when you go to say, Africa you would see certain kinds of birds but if you went to Asia you would see different birds. I can't see why it wouldn't be the same in the Pokemon world IMHO, considering a lot of Pokemon are based on animals. Purrloin isn't unoriginal, it's Unova's version of cat like Meowth to Kanto.
Well, the Voltorb Theory is quite interesting if you know another fact.
In Kanto, The Power Plant (where Voltorb was "created") and Lavender Town (Where lots of ghost pokemon are, so Haunter) are reasonably close.
So if you know this fact, it does get a little different.
Thank-fucking-GOD someone put the Red and Ash theory in the dumping ground! Even if we want to ignore the separate canons rule, the universes just don't add up. Giovanni is defeated by Red, but that wouldn't fit in with Ash's following adventures where Giovanni is still at large and repeating many of the same schemes he did when Red was around, unless you want to disregard HG/SS canon about the Rocket grunts trying to revive a dead Team Rocket and bring Giovanni back to their side… Oh, and also, the whole thing was written to say "Ash is so retarded. Red was the REAL hero." We can talk about whether this is true or not all day, but when a whole theory is written around it, it just becomes immature.

Someone mentioned a theory that Pikachu in the anime was abandoned by a previous trainer, which would explain why he's more powerful and iffy about Ash in the beginning.

The weird part is that that's how I caught my Deoxys... I went to the moon in sapphire and there he was. I only waited a week though.. When I saw that rumor it brought back memories of me finally having my Deoxys and then he was like its not true, and i just sat here like then how did i get em'? The rumor about Bill's house I heard growing up was if you bring him a Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon all level 100. You can catch Mew behind his house. I never heard about the Vermilion Truck hiding the mew rumor until a few years ago. I didn't know about the Yoshi thing until today. That's a very good troll by Nintendo.
I actually have that issue of Xpert gamer magazine because it had a special on the first Mario party and walkthroughs for 3 dfferent RPGs. I'm glad you brought that Yoshi theory up dude.

Well... If you beat Pokemon ORAS, the Delta Episode will unlock, when you get Rayquaza and battle Zinnia, afterwards, you will go to space and face Deoxys... This might be a reference to the last Theory you have spoken of...
Zubats live in caves, right? You see, they come in swarms. What else comes in swarms? TENTACOOLS! They eventually learn some poison related attack. They have similar colors. COINCIDENCE?
Zubats are actually Tentacools with wings and bat-like appearance because CAVES.

More like Ash is Red's counterpart in the anime since Pokemon started as a game.
Counterpart =/= same person. It just means they serve the same purpose, or fill the same role.

Wait wait wait. There IS a way to get into bills secret garden, and it's NOT a gameshark. All you need to do is use safari zone glitch stuff to walk through walls. (Google "Let's glitch pokemon yellow", missingnoxpert has some pretty cool stuff)

I remember hearing about the glitch ages ago but I didn't pull it of and I was mad becuase I couldn't get in there. Years later I found out that the garden wasn't actually much of a garden and there weren't even any wild Pokémon there. Useless. lol

I think red might be ash's father... It'd explain why ash's mum potentially hooked up with professor oak (lol), why they look similar, why ash loves pokemon and also, if your not convinced, ash's mum said it took ash's father the same amount of days it took red to get to the first location. (my mind had a blank, sorry. :P)
Also... I don't think some of these theories are that bad. Like the haunter voltorb one makes sense as haunter could easily have posessed a pokéball. Its better then thinking that voltorbs a design on its own anyway -_-''
If red was ash's father I don't think ash would be the crappy trainer he is, either that or red is a terrible dad. also the voltorb theory makes no sense, just because one artist drew two pokemon's eyes in a similar way? and what happens when the voltorb evolves into electrode? what does that haunter do then, if it's nothing but a possessed poke ball how does it grow?
Jess Kidd I'm just saying voltorbs design SUCKS, so I prefer to believe that haunter posessed it so I don't cry at the stupidity of its design. And about the first point you know, who knows? Red didn't have to teach ash anything. He could have died before ash was old enough anyway.

Well, it's clear that Ash's Pikachu and Red's Pikachu are 2 different ones. In the anime where Red is the main character, the leader of team Rocket shut down team Rocket, but in the anime where Ash is the main character, he still has to deal with team Rocket. So Red's anime came after Ash's.
