once, I found a horde with 4 zangoose, and 1 shiny seviper. Then, the zangoose all used quick attack on the seviper and KO'ed it. And also, once I found a shiny croagunk in the safari zone, only to have it run away.
Henry Zhou Those Zangoose/Seviper hordes are the worse. You have to be extremely lucky to manage to kill all of them before they can gang up and kill that one Zangoose/Seviper.

The most annoying thing for me is event pokemon. Events where you can get one happen about once in a million years and I usually miss them. The only one I was able to get was Celebi. I don't care if they make it horribly difficult to catch a legendary, just as long as I'm able to catch them.

I like happiness based evolutions. it's one of very few ways that you actually have to work for. with most level based evolutions, you just stick them in the back of the party with an experience share and poof it's done, and trade and item based ones require no real effort except finding the item and having 2 systems

I really hated those caves that forced you to keep all the HM techniques ready, especially in first gen where those were permanent. I never used things like flash or strength in battle, so those felt like wasted attack slots 99% of the time.
Just imagine how pissed gym leaders and E4 members must be when you spam Full Restores in hope that they will use different move or just stall their PP.

John Love After the first time you don't need it though. Unless you have a terrible memory anyway. It's not like the cave layout or trainer positions are hard to remember. I haven't played the originals in maybe 9 years and I could go back and do it right now because the map for all games is always in my head. Even open sanbox types games with no official map like MineCraft. Every MineCraft world I've ever started or been part of on a multiplayer server has it's own map in my head, including all the caves etc. that I went into. There really shouldn't be any' such thing as getting lost in a game. They're confined worlds. Limited possibilities. Even still though, you can move around checking for walls and stairs until you get out. Flash is NOT needed even in Gen 1.

It's not like evasion tactics are a common thing. Even official tournaments are more about power than stalling or evasion. It's the noobs who complain about it. Not newbs as in new players but noobs - annoying players who are unwilling to be as good as they need to be to find ways around parts of a game, or just push through the losses and look for the FUN of the game. Which is not directly or solely tied to winning. Good players know that challenge is the main feature of fun for any game. Win or lose. Winning 100 battles in a row against less knowledgeable players (you know, just for the sake of winning, throwing challenge out the window) could never be more fun than losing 100 well fought back and forth battles in a row.

I, in particular, have a team in Pokémon Showdown that was built to combat almost anything(it can be beat, but it's rather difficult to predict), as my first two Pokémon are Kamikazes. Their whole goal is to Destiny Bond the other team's ace. After that, it becomes a battle of Virizion, Latias(I feel bad for putting two legends, but Latias is my favorite Pokémon, and no, it is not Mega), M-Kangashkan with the elemental punches and earthquake, and a sacrificial Blissey(Healing Wish).

In order to hit those annoying people who use Double Team to raise their evasiveness to the max, you need a move that can never miss like Feint Attack or Aerial Ace.
Number 5: Event Pokemon Number 4: Only ONE Master Ball Number 3: Roaming Legends Number 2: Evasion Number 1: Trade Evolving (because I have no friends...)
Here's something: Poison, Poison in general. When your pokemon is poisoned, when you're in a field, each time you step the screen shakes and its all fuzzy, it's literally annoying.
Evasiveness isnt a problem for me because i ALWAYS have a pkmn with roar to simply screw over trainers/players that keep stacking stat boostes but for the other 4 im totally with ya brother

When you finally find a Pokémon that you want them kill the other one but it’s faster uses struggle and kills itself forcing your Pokémon to attack the Pokémon you want and ending up killing it... I spent over an hour on that goomy in ultra sun :(
beating the last gym in emerald where juans kingdra just kept stacking evade and then just used rest and then full restore when i for some reason didnt have a dragon move on any of my pokemons the only way i won was by just making it run out of pp on all of its abilities
A good answer to the Legendary Dog trio using Roar (if that were ever to happen in the future games) would be an ability called Dig In (or something like that) Which is an ability that prevents moves like Roar or Whirlwind to do any effect since the Pokemon would have their paws/feet/hooves/whatever to be dug into the ground and have being prevented from going anywhere, but also have negative affects, like if a Pokemon wanted to use Fly or something, it'd take off a turn so that it could get its feet out of the ground.

I haven't played the originals in maybe 9 years and I could go back and do it right now because the map for all games is always in my head. Even open sanbox types games with no official map like MineCraft. Every MineCraft world I've ever started or been part of on a multiplayer server has it's own map in my head, including all the caves etc. that I went into.
There really shouldn't be any' such thing as getting lost in a game. They're confined worlds. Limited possibilities.
Even still though, you can move around checking for walls and stairs until you get out. Flash is NOT needed even in Gen 1.
In the New Games like pokemon X/Y alpha saphire/ Omega Ruby Flash is completely unnessecary because you can see Even without the light bubble surrounding you

It's a part of the game. Don't find that strategy to your taste? Don't use it. I damn sure haven't and I've never even thought to complain about it.
It's not like evasion tactics are a common thing. Even official tournaments are more about power than stalling or evasion.
It's the noobs who complain about it. Not newbs as in new players but noobs - annoying players who are unwilling to be as good as they need to be to find ways around parts of a game, or just push through the losses and look for the FUN of the game. Which is not directly or solely tied to winning. Good players know that challenge is the main feature of fun for any game. Win or lose.
Winning 100 battles in a row against less knowledgeable players (you know, just for the sake of winning, throwing challenge out the window) could never be more fun than losing 100 well fought back and forth battles in a row.

I, in particular, have a team in Pokémon Showdown that was built to combat almost anything(it can be beat, but it's rather difficult to predict), as my first two Pokémon are Kamikazes. Their whole goal is to Destiny Bond the other team's ace. After that, it becomes a battle of Virizion, Latias(I feel bad for putting two legends, but Latias is my favorite Pokémon, and no, it is not Mega), M-Kangashkan with the elemental punches and earthquake, and a sacrificial Blissey(Healing Wish).

Popcorn11235 That is not what I meant. In Red, Blue, and Yellow, If you throw Poke Balls, Great Balls, or Ultra Balls at the Legendries , sometimes you won't be able to even have them in the ball. Check out PIMPNITE's video of him trying to catch Articuno in Pokémon Red to fully understand what I mean.

A good answer to the Legendary Dog trio using Roar (if that were ever to happen in the future games) would be an ability called Dig In (or something like that) Which is an ability that prevents moves like Roar or Whirlwind to do any effect since the Pokemon would have their paws/feet/hooves/whatever to be dug into the ground and have being prevented from going anywhere, but also have negative affects, like if a Pokemon wanted to use Fly or something, it'd take off a turn so that it could get its feet out of the ground.
only shiny, legendary, strong or rare pokemon should stop you from escaping.
