The Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel (ARCCI) says it has found evidence of "widespread sexual crimes" that took place across southern Israel when it was attacked by Hamas militants on Oct. 7, 2023.
“Sexual abused was not an isolated incident or sporadic cases but rather a clear operational strategy,” an ARCCI report states.
Global’s Daniele Hamamdjian explains the lengthy and complicated process underway to gather evidence.

I think it wasn't helpful that the Israeli government was so untrustworthy. I, for one, didn't doubt that Hamas was capable of atrocities like rape/mutilation, and was paying attention to all the eyewitnesses, but waited for more trustworthy sources to confirm. Israeli government lies about so much it's difficult to get at the truth sometimes.
