This Hohem V3 popped up on my UA-cam home page so I watched a few video reviews and was really interested in it. 3 videos reviews later and also asking on google I could not get an answer on whether it had a 1/4 inch 20 screw hole at the bottom to mount to a more bigger and solid tripod until I watched your video. Excellent review and I should’ve checked out your channel first had I give it some thought. Your video has confirmed my purchase on it. Thank you 🙏🏼
The AI tracking attachment and detachable controller is what makes this the best. It solves 80% of the problem that others still struggle with. Using Android device it limits what you can capture with their software, while the main camera app let's you have access to all the lenses you're smartphone has. So to have AI tracking while recording in the main camera app is amazing.
Hey Matthew, I've just been looking at this gimbal after being sorely disappointed with the Insta360 flow and the Pro version does not really entice me either. This seems to tick all the boxes, love the idea of the remote control to give real freedom and the fact I can use any app is great. I just realised too they have a customized composition gesture which has sold it for me and with your discount this thing is a bargin!! Buying it now!! Thanks for the video! 🙂
what was it that you didn't like about the insta 350 flow? just wondering as i was leaning towards grabbing one of those but haven't made my mind up yet,
@@dieselbaby hi. It was a simple thing. I go hiking and take videos of the trip. I love to do a shot where the camera pans from A to B and I end up in the shot at the end. There is no way to get into Insta360 to do a simple automated A-B pan. I mailed them first a year to add the functionality but just ignored. I’m selling it now that I have the Hohem!
Wow! Greatly appreciate this detailed review on the three gimbals. The stabilization footage of the three look pretty similar to me, but I know you're just trying to be more thorough. I have a dji om6 and use it for filming my hiking adventures, and I'm pretty happy with its stabilization, especially considering I move up and down a lot when hiking. Anyways, great job on the review, and looking forward to more contents from you!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! The DJI OM6 is a fantastic gimbal. When comparing these gimbals, you have to start nitpicking to find any major differences!
I see that you have made a lot of videos on gimballs. Which would be your top 2 picks and your best pick overall for someone on the budget and has as many features as possible for an android phone. This Hohem iSteady V3 looks pretty good.
Would be even better if it supported star tracking for very long exposures - I placed a order for model, as I currently got the XE version and really need that external ai tracking feature.
How to shoot the effect of flying a quadcopter on this stabilizer - for example - wiring low to the ground with a smooth rise of the phone on the stabilizer and an extended selfie stick and movement straight and up Thank you
Another lovely and complete review. Thanks! My question is...how does it tolerate a telephoto or wide angle lens on a 15 pro? have you tried to "overweight" so the 300g is just for safety, or its the edge of it really? Another thing would be interesting if the AI mojo had microphone, so it could set if you are having a conversation at a table it would turns to the one actually speaking. I know its a hint for the manufacturer... maybe in the next release :)
Good question. So, I have purposely added too much weight, and what happens is the gimbal's motors just turn off, and the phone will no longer be stabilized. Love the microphone idea!
A great review It looks like the one to buy. I use the Blackmagic Camera App so will all the AI connects work together with the iPhone 15 and BCA. Thanks
How is the range of motion for dynamic shots like simulating crane shots or drone shots? (The DJI suffers from limited motion and one of the reasons I returned it.)
Good day! Can i still use the joystick to move the phone while in lock mode or just one or two modes not the POV mode? and will it detroy the motors if used in this way? Thank you and God bless.
Hi Matthew, love your stuff, but honestly, miss the old “Drone Creative.” Ya know, the one who like your title, focused on being “Creative” with “Drones.” Not gimbals, power stations, etc. It’s been three months since your last drone video. I miss that.😢 (Just curious…how are your analytics since branching out to other content? I know it’s a business).
Hey! I literally just posted a new drone video, and it's the first of many I've been working on. I am really excited to get back into posting regular drone content. I took a little break from drone videos for two reasons. Firstly, I was a bit burnt out and struggling to think of new topics to teach about drones. Secondly, I noticed that interest in drone videos had dropped off quite a bit, so I decided to branch out to bring new eyes to the channel. This has really helped analytically. It was also refreshing and has helped me learn new production techniques. Capturing b-roll for gimbals, for example, is quite different from drones, and this has helped me level up my production. With all that said, I now feel ready and re-energized to make new drone tutorials, and I have a bunch on the way!
@@TheDroneCreative thanks Matthew. I don’t mean to sound critical. I totally understand, how it’s easy to get burnt out. You do an awesome job, and I live your content, your style, and methods. Keep it up!

Happy to help! I will admit to also loving the remote control. Being able to remotely adjust the camera angle is very, very useful!

Very clear video, fantastic gimbal.
Thank you!
Tried these gimbals at NAB - the AI tracker is so impressive!
I really like that the tracking is done in the tracker module, allowing you to use any camera app you want!
Good review I definitely buy this gimbal after see this review finished .Great small gimbal for 2024
As a pixel user, sold.
9:40 you mention the Hohem Joy app for zooming. Are you saying I have to use the joy app installed while I use the native camera app?
Great video! Thanks! Since Hohem sponsored this, any chance of a review of the M6 and comparison with the V3?
Thank you! I will see what I can do!
Thanks for the review! the promotional code for UK amazon doesn't work
What is the best gimbal when comparing insta 360flow pro and Isteady v3?

use Hohem M6😊
13:11 can you tell me the max distance where the AI tracker can follow you? Can it still follow you at more ten 10 meters?
A great review It looks like the one to buy. I use the Blackmagic Camera App so will all the AI connects work together with the iPhone 15 and BCA. Thanks
The ai works independently of the app so you can use it however you want

Hey! Just like the DJI Osmo Mobile 6, the tilt range of motion is fairly limited. I believe it's -60° to 60°.
🙂❤👍Thank You Mattheww 🙂❤👍
Thanks for watching!
mit großen Vorsatzlinsen den M6 nehmen 😊
Thanks for sharing😊
Thanks for watching!
Love the vid going to get one myself. Do you know if it can hold a gopro hero 12?
Would you be able to mount a dji action 5 pro to this system?
Good day! Can i still use the joystick to move the phone while in lock mode or just one or two modes not the POV mode? and will it detroy the motors if used in this way? Thank you and God bless.
Is this the best gimble or Insta 360 ace flow ?
Can I use this v3 gimbal for action camera like dji action 5 or insta360 ace pro 2?
It is like the gimbal could correct you hands movement up and down when you are walking, but it can not correct if you walking clumsy
Can I capture with v3 360 Shot ?
no ,
2 days ago I bought the dji osama 6.🤦 how does this compare? Also is the app as good as dji as im considering returning it for this Hohem
I def think HOHEM ove Dji it’s just better with the tracker in my opinion as well as the detachable control
@kidthatneverleep3236 I actually returned the dji yesterday and my hohem arrived. I agree it's much better and I love the remote
The price is pretty amazing for all the features that it have❤
Wow got the hohem mt2 for 210£
