The music video was shot in the Blast Furnace Museum in the Foundry Park of Monterrey, Mexico. The extras were members of The Warning Army. The live performance is at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City (CDMX = Ciudad de Mexico). The venue holds 3000+. The song warns about getting caught up in false ideologies on social media. It takes both sides of a conversation. One side excoriates the listener for believing what they see on social media. The other side (the believer/disciple) wants to tear down society to make their new ideology the norm. These girls are usually best live.
This song and the music video mean a lot to me. I was going through a dark period and was thinking of ending it all. I watched the music video when it was released at midnight and I posted a long, tearful message to DPA on UA-cam in the middle of the night thanking them for pulling me back from the brink. This is why I have made The Warning part of every day since. They literally give me a reason to stay alive.
These girls are pure fire. Paulina practices singing while running on the treadmill. They have been incredibly hard working perfectionists since they were very young. It shows in their natural performing abilities, they completely own the stage and the audience. Thanks for coming back, you will not be disappointed digging deeper. Three down to earth, scandal free sisters that love to rock.
Its already been mentioned that Pau practices vocals while on a treadmill, but one more amazing fact about the live show is that is was in Mexico City (CDMX = City of Mexico) which sits at about 7350' above sea level where there is about 25% less oxygen than at sea level.
Funny thing, Kiss was the first rock concert that The Warning ladies went to as kids. We welcome your jump from the Kiss Army to The Warning Army. FYI, CDMX is the tetragraph designator for Cuidad de Mexico (what we English speakers call Mexico City), similar to how we in the US use NYC, MIA, or PHX or in the UK LON might be used. They do great recordings, but live is where they are best seen. Yeah, HUGE live. Amazing how much only three of them can put out. One of The Warning Army, GMan, has called them a studio-quality live band. I could not have come up with a better descriptor for them. They are fantastic. Many of us have been waiting 25+ years to find a new rock sound, and have found it here with The Warning. They are a force for the future.
By the way Ale the bassist is sometimes referred to as little gene because her stage performance and presents is reminiscent of a young Gene Simmons albet shes a much better bassist.
The Warning Army is made up of us old farts, middle farts, young cats, and teens and tinies, it's a whole family affair. When have you seen an entire family in love with an artist at the same time? From hard rock, to metal, to punk, to prog, to shoe gaze, to pop rock, to alt rock, you name it they can do it. As I mentioned to you my friend, you've been Warned!!!
I've listened to a lot of bands and liked a few of their songs but not all. The Warning is the first band I ever actually followed fully and they are the only band that for me have 100% of their songs that are worth listening to on repeat constantly. Seriously they do not have a single bad song, I love listening to them all, sure there are some I like more than others, but I gladly listen to all of them. Over the years I have purchased over a thousand albums, and most only have two to five songs on them I like, this is not the case with The Warning, at least for me that is. The are respectful of others, humble, funny as well as being open and honest with their fans. They are smart, intelligent and have a great support group around them that shield them from the nastier side of the music industry. They work hard and have earned everything they have achieved and they did it themselves they were not pushed into being rock stars by anyone other than themselves.
Thanks for that. That reminds me of something I wanted to do. My "perfect" albums. Albums where every song is good with no filler or crap. I'll work on that. 5 pop to mind and 3 of them are from the same band. AC/DC: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheep, Highway to Hell and Back in Black. Judas Priest British Steel and the Scorpions Blackout. What other albums can you all think of that have no bad songs or ones you skip?
These ladies were born to play on stage. It doesn't matter if the audience is 5 people or 50000, they put the same energy into their performance. Plenty of room in TWA for new recruits - bring your friends along with you!
It has become a bit overwhelming. I went from having 2 or 3 comments to reply to, to suddenly 4 days in, having scrolling pages of them. 99% from the TWA.
One of their "secret weapons" is something they term "Sister Magic". They just glance at each other occasionally during a performance, and instantly and almost telepathically coordinate what to do or where to go on stage (well, most of the time, at least - sometimes confusion reigns, but not often). You can see an example of this during this live performance of _Disciple_ , when Dany is doing some "crowd engagement" and starts just strumming the riff while dancing about. She spins around and glances at Ale then Pau, and they all mutually understand *now* is the moment to break back into the final chorus. I always though this video was a great capture of that dynamic.
That's cool. One of the reasons I like to mix blind reactions with "i've seen this many times before" reactions is that with the former I tend to be in fanboy mode, whereas in the latter I can be far more analytical.
CDMX is the abbreviation of Ciudad de Mexico which means City of Mexico or as the official English name is Mexico City. Welcome to the The Warning rabbit hole. You want More? You're in luck, they released that last month 😉. (Their latest song is titled More 😂)
Great idea to watch both a music video and a live performance. For me, The Warning scores high for both. I have seen them live 3 times in the past 13 months and look forward to my next opportunity. One of my favorite videos is this one of their song "Dust to Dust" ua-cam.com/video/TeIbG8nkOiU/v-deo.html
I've mentioned KISS a few times. They were always a better live band than studio. In fact, I'm going to do a video about that topic. If you've ever heard the studio version of Firehouse and then heard the live, you would not think they are the same song.
Buena reacción 🤘🇲🇽🤘🇲🇽🤘🇲🇽 Definitivamente the Warning es un trío de rock fuera de serie. qué bueno que estás revisando actuaciones en vivo vs videos. Viva The Warning!!
Disciple is such a banger! That was a great idea to do the studio and live versions at the same time. As others have said, TW is even better live. They have actually said that they struggle to capture their live energy in their studio recordings, whereas for the vast majority of bands it's the opposite. As for what to react to next, you could literally pick any of their song and it would be great. The legendary David Bendeth, who produced their latest album Error (from which this song is from) asked them if they even knew how to write a bad song. Anyway, I would suggest either the ES triple-pack as well with their first cover from 2014, their OMV for their own version with Alessia Cara and then the live from this same show. However, I'll give you a few more suggestions on top: Evolve, Dust To Dust, and Narcisista. Evolve is probably their heaviest song. It has a killer 7/8 time signature riff, and just insane amounts of energy. They close out their live shows with this song, and it's a surefire way to leave the audience wanting more. ua-cam.com/video/3_RB0tRI624/v-deo.html Dust To Dust is the prologue song to their Queen of the Murder Scene Concept album and Pau sings lead on that one. It's a great showcase of just how badass they all are. I highly recommend the live version at Lunario CDMX for this song. ua-cam.com/video/TeIbG8nkOiU/v-deo.html Narcisista was their first song in Spanish, another one where Pau sings lead, written as a giant middle-finger to local critics accusing them of being "malinchista", or cultural traitors, since up to that point they had only sang in English. So they did this one in Spanish to make sure they all could perfectly understand that you definitely do not want to piss off Pau, or any of them. They debuted the song live at Foro DiDi in 2019 and it's got really good audio. You can see some good examples of Pau's infamous death stare in this video 🤣ua-cam.com/video/O7IAEhN4RMM/v-deo.html Cheers and welcome to TWA!
Great reaction.. I know this was your second time with the girls from Mexico. So, hey Welcome to your new favorite band🤞. Really these young ladies are so special in so many ways. #1 They're just wonderful humans. #2-100 they're excellent musicians, next level vocals/harmonies .. I'm not sure they're from this planet. They might be "BORG" you know, from the STAR TREK movies.. If so, we're all being A-Simulated into their collective.. and "resistance is futile" we're helpless ..( yeah I'm a Star Trek nerd) as you can see, a Live show is where they shine the brightest.. Yeah, Kiss Alive was one of those albums that caused a fork in the space time continuum. There is life BEFORE Kiss Alive! and life after was never the same.
