This is partly what inspired me to take the North Road and up to Long Point. Had so much fun, I visited Wemindje and returned by way of the North Road.
    Thank you

Great stuff Jeff. I have yet to make it in to Wemindje. Next time perhaps. Glad you had an enjoyable and safe trip.

Bravissimo. Pioniere. Uomo. Moto, tutta meccanica e pilota. Non per donnicciole. Ho anch'io una del 1973.

Nick the authentic way you have of making us participate in your traveling days, spreads, inspires, entertains. You're to blame for making me buy an adorable 17-year-old Guzzi and be in love with her like I'm 17 too.

Magic stuff Nick. your metalled roads look more confidence than our pea gravelled roads.

Thanks Paul. Yes, they're not too bad. Just have to watch the corners where the vehicles push it up into deep piles.

This shows you do not need a big 'sophisticated' bikes (like those BMW Gs's) to go long distances.

Hi Nick, Great video, I like your style. A regular man on his travels, takes a few minutes here and there to capture what it really is to be out there. No staging. hope you are safe and still riding. Last summer I did a similar ride (Waskaganish, Wemindji and the gravel route to Chibougameau) ... I even remember where you set up your tent & got gas where you did at 5min17. I like your bike too. I bet you've had it awhile. Thanks for the video.

Thanks Dr. Burnout. I've been in to Chisasibi, Radisson and Longue Point, but not to Waskaganish or Wemindji. One of these days. It's a great area, and fine people.

Nick, I appreciate all trips you do, and if you ever went north shore of St-Laurence river up to the Mingan Islands, you would pay yourself quite a treat, something to think about. if you ever do, take a night camping at Paradis Marin, in Grandes Bergeronnes, you will have quite a show with the whales, just sitting on the rocky shores. Cheers.

I passed that area on the way to Natashquan a few years ago and have regretted not stopping ever since. Ooops - I missed the second part of your message on my phone. My wife and I (by car) were there this summer, although just for the day. Minke whales everywhere, coming up right next to the kayaks. And, as you say, a perfect view just from the rocks on the shore. Wonderful.

Wow very cool, I really want to do a similar trip on moto (I have a CRF250L), thing is... I'm afraid of doing this alone in solo places. The very few ppl that I know don't ride nor care for long travel. I have driven from Chicago to Montreal, taken 138 all the way to Quebec City and wow beautiful, Chicago to Bloomington on Route 66 and amazing from town to town (both travels in car). Point is I love long distance travel but I'm afraid of solo moto adventures, any tips of how to combat this fear? And greeting from Chicago.

Hello Wasqah213. I haven't got any tips except to say you are always riding alone, even when you are with someone else. What is it you fear? Loneliness? Either you are happy with the little voices in your head or you aren't. Breaking down? Having a friend along helps - for sure - but someone will always be along to help sooner or later, even in areas where there's no cell phone coverage. Take basic shelter, food etc. and wait. Highway 138 gets better and better after Quebec City ua-cam.com/video/uZL1ZZ8bvPo/v-deo.html

Nick Adams Yes, that is my fear having no one around and the bike breaking down... heck I just know how ride one but not fix one. But I see what you're saying. Hopefully I can do this soon. And nice video of highway 138, I wanted to go more out there but I just had limited time.

Start with all-day rides; then do a few overnights to get the gear sorted. Finally, pick a destination with 'interesting' roads - not "slab".
I've been from Seattle to Maine and back 3-4 times, both thru Canada and thru the states. I prefer CANADA by far. People are just friendlier (or were back in the day!)
My trip to Switzerland (sp) on a borrowed bike was the pinnacle.

Can you cruise 90 km/h on a falcone?

    • @nick949eldo
      @nick949eldo  5 років тому +3

The NF will cruise all day at 90kph without complaint. It will slow down on hills but keep chugging along.
