- How I serviced the Powershift transmission on my 2012 Ford Mondeo TDCi.
Vehicle must be level when performing the service.
Information came from the Ford factory service information available to purchase on www.etis.ford.com/ as well as from the Volvo service information and good old Google.
This is how I serviced the transmission. No warranties expressed or implied, use this information at your own risk. This video is for entertainment purposes only.
I used the Morris transmission fluid:

Thanks mate, made the job easy!
My mondeo is a 6 speed manual. I feel like I should have gone for auto because in the manual I feel like I am constantly having to change gears. Especially on the roads where I live they are quite narrow and I have to slow down and speed up a lot. Oh well.
+Mr.Mister I'd love to have the 6 speed manual. The Powershift works fine with super quick changes but I still prefer manuals
I have only owned manuals in the past but the mondeo is not that nice to drive imo lol
+Mr.Mister I've only ever driven one manual one so can't really judge. I know my Focus is great as a manual, nice and flexible

Thanks!
Thanks for the great video. I have a question. When doing shiftings for 20 seconds each, should I press footbreak for 20 seconds or pull back my foot from the break pedal ?
It doesn't matter. It's all about the gear position cycling.
Hi anyone can help me I have a Ford Galaxy PowerShift 2012 it does shake little bit only when I take off but if I'm up the hill taking off it shake too much like DDDD thank you
Where did you purchase the filter?. Thanks
I got it from a Ford dealer on eBay
hi, can I ask a question regarding the retarded way ford expects you to jump through hoops when refilling the gearbox.
If you have 2 bottle which simulate the 2 chambers one is empty and one is full and you put a pipe on each to suck up the oil and pass it through a filter simulating the oil going to the filter which ford has one filter for both chambers and once it passes through the filter it must return to each chamber like on the gearbox so you put 2 pipes on from a filter back to the 2 bottles.
Well if you start by filling one bottle and leaving the other bottle empty once you pump the oil from the full bottle to the filter the clean oil will divide and refill both bottles simulating both chambers. So why on earth do we need to go through this stupid exercise.
Ive changed oil on my gearbox.
I've drained the gearbox both chambers (6 litres)
removed the filter and replaced it filled it refitted it.
Poured 6 litres into the gearbox.
Put the rest of the airbag on and refitted the covers below and above.
And Ive drove the car perfect without any issues what so ever!
Good and informative video. But back in the 70's I happened to accidentally pass by an adult movie theater and heard that same music. 😂😂
+txsviking accidentally of course. They always put those places next to the welding supply stores 🤣
Hi man ! Thanks for your time! My 2014 ford diesel 2.0 duratorq tdci has some leak on the transmission! And the service oil message come on the dashboard! So what should I do now
Take it to your mechanic sounds like a good start. Or fix the leak and find out the fault codes
From a source in Ford Australia, they recommend and use Penrite DCT fluid. Bought some on special from repco. Cost me about $70 aud for 7 litres and yes it meets ford specs. Good video by the way, cheers.
The Penrite stuff looks decent. I would use that quite happily. Cheers
www.nulon.com.au/products/automatic-transmission-fluids/full-synthetic-multi-vehicle-dsg-dct-transmission-fluid
I use this. Comes in handy pack's and 20L buckets.
Wish I could find it at that price! I've only found it in 4 litre packs at $100 each.
Hi where did buy your Penrite DCT for $70
Cheers
I bought the oil kit with filter from Meyle .
Great Video. Carried out ATF change following your video for second time 40,000 miles after previous change at 88,00 miles. (First time I had it done by Ford dealer for £276 when under warranty!)No problems either time.Recommend 8mm Hex key 3/8 drive with long extension bar to reach the fill plug and level plug. Thanks for great explanations. N.B Filter cost from UK Ford Dealer £39.31 ATF Fluid Triple QX DSG Fluid meets Ford Spec. £10 per Litre. Used this fluid last time as well. No issues. Mondeo has done 128,000 miles.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing 😊
Avoid this gearbox. Pure junk regardless of ATF change done at the recommended time. Cheap internal components
Thanks for the vid bro, much appreciated. Followed to the tee, and my 2013 Mondeo Wagon is changing now like a dream. Cheers
Awesome, that's great to hear. Thanks!
After carefully getting the level in the front chamber, what happens when you brake hard or take a sharp corner? Surely the fluid in the rear chamber is going to slosh into the front?
I will be doing my third transmission oil change using this upload. I have kept this in my favourites for years now. So I usually change the trans fluid every 40k or less. Given how sensitive these dual clutch transmissions are, it's best to do it often, within reason. Definitely been working for me. 👍
Just curious did you warm up the gearbox first , and approximately how long did it take to get to temp ,I don't have a infrared thermometer cheers for your help.
@@chrislloyd2496 hey, sorry for the late reply. No I did it whithout the temp check. But I definitely take it for a 15 minute drive and make sure it's all up to temp before changing the oil. No problems so far. I have just under 250k kms. Hope it helps.
@@chrislloyd2496 if you get an OBD2 connector and Forscan software there's a transmission oil temp indicator.
A question I put 6 literas of oil, in the level plug ir drain aprox 1 liter of oil, Is correct to put 250cc to refill???
Hello Today my mechanicer change the gear box oil and put in 7 litres ? Is Normal 7 l ??? Thanks
Today was the second time I've referred this video, it's a great resource!
I tried to use two different scan tools (Kinchrome and some generic Bluetooth one that you use with a phone app), there doesn't seem to be an output for transmission temp. Maybe you need a professional level one (eg, Genuine Ford or Snap-On). Luckily I still had my temperature gun from 2 years ago!
Awesome. That's great to hear!
Can you show me which transmission fluid you used .
Morris DCT was it?
Tnx for the video it helps me to change the trans fluid of ford fucos tdci 2.0L.im from Philippines. I used mag 1 dct fluid
Do you believe there is any truth to the poor earthing setup they have on these Ford Mondeo's? I have this exact car, it's not throwing any codes, but it is jerky (kinda normal), but at temperature, after a decent amount of driving, there is shuddering/juddering under light load, and engine speed surging (it's all tranny related). I have a feeling it is temperature related, but it could also just be related to the clutches themselves. I'm at 163000 kilometers. To my understanding, Ford (only after a lot of pressure from outside forces) decided to warranty these boxes for 7 years/160k kilometers.
Hi Badger, I have a 2009 Mondeo 2.0TDCI Powershift and the gearbox is smooth and changes nicely and accelerates well and drives like new. I do about 2,500miles per year and every 6 months or so the car goes into limp mode and I get a message come up saying 'Transmission Service Required' and 'Hill start unavailable'. I pull over and stop the engine and ignition off, Restart the engine and all is fine again and messages gone and no fault codes are stored on OBD2 Scanner. Then 6 months later it will do it again. I want to change the oil but am fearful. How does the car know that the Trans requires service? Is there a sensor that detects dirty oil?
I am more than capable of changing this myself and I am competent DIY mechanic looking after my Ford Capri 2.8i and rebuiding the engine myself.
I asked Ford (Rang Main Ford Tech help) and they informed me that NO Gearbox Oil change is required on my car and it is not in the Ford Schedule for my car.
Yet on an issue with my Focus ST gear cable I got to speak to a Local Ford Master Tech and I mentioned the Powershift Limp mode and message scenario and he looked on ETIS and informed me that my car was an earlier model and does NOT have the external Filter on it!
Also, on a Forum someone mentons that this 'occasional fault' I have is something to do with an EGR glitch and not related to the gearbox...?
I havnt as yet jacked the car up and taken the wheel liner out to ascertain wether it does have a filter or not. The car has done 116k Miles (186K Km) and has never had the oil changed yet. Have you heard of earlier model differences like mine and IF I have 3 drain Bungs where is the other bung (middle?) and WHY 3?
Should I change the oil or leave it well alone?
What are your thoughts please?
I have recently been informed that if I DON'T have an external filter on the side of my Gearbox then it is NOT a Powershift. If so it will be an Aisin Warner box but does this box still have the 'S' Mode on the side of the shifter with the '+' and '-' sections?
Hi, Thanks for the good video. I would like to ask you which oil you offer 1. Castrol Transmax Dual or 2. Fuchs Titan DCTF. For Me 2014. Ford Galaxy 2.0 tdci Powersift 163 ps. auto there. Thank you.
Whatever meets Ford's requirement for this transmission and is cheapest. Logical
Save $250 just by watching this vid. 👍👍 Buddy at Ford says the duel auto clutch has had the warranty extended and multiple new free updates for it. Standard transmission is the way to go. 👍👍
+STEVE ROB you know me, the ultimate penny pincher. I think the warranty extensions apply to the dry clutch version not the wet clutch version
Badgertronix not sure if its wet or dry it's mostly on the escorts but it is a duel clutch auto box. They have so many redesigns and updated and they still have problems.
+STEVE ROB that's definitely the other box. This one appears to have a better reputation. Time will tell and if I find Mongolians in the system I'll make a video about it.
The wet type MPS6 installed in T4 volvo is now also under extended warranty by volvo in my country Egypt.
It would be nice if they put a plug in the converter (written before watching all the video) so that you can get all the fluid out instead of half of it. In the US that don't put drain plugs in the pans. If you want to change fluid you have to drop the pan. When changed the fluid in my wife's Chrysler T&C I replaced the pan with one with a plug in it. Drained the fluid recently before taking a trip to Chicago (800 miles) so much nicer with a plug and a lot faster to change. That is a crazy procedure for changing the fluid. How much new fluid are you wasting to do that? Good job. Good vid.
Oh BTW my wife wants to know who the ol lady is? Your mother? She says you should call her mom.
+MostlymoparIH total fluid capacity is 7 litres so you're getting most of it out. It's tough watching $10 of fluid leak out just to get the level right. Haha the ol lady would be Mrs Badger, she really appreciates the name 😂😂🤣🤣. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Mrs. Mostly does not like that term. I could not use the pronoun she when talking about my mom. My grandma would say who's she the cat's mother. My trans holds about 7 quarts of trans fluid and you only get 4 out when you drain it.
Bottoms up. What do they drink down under over?
+MostlymoparIH I definitely wouldn't refer to my mum as she. These automatic manuals are a strange contraption. Speight's beer would be the choice of the nation
Speight's Up.
Thank you! I did almost step by step as you and know I feel the change: it
shifts smoothly!
That's awesome! Glad I could help out
Hi, how many times your poured increments of 250 ml ? Because i pull out 4 liters from main chamber and 1.5 liters from mechatronics. There should be something of 3.. liters. Final liters ? After 6 ?
Great video, thank you
got a volvo v50 2009 in now , never change oil/ filter 205000 km , low oilpressure
in mps6 gearbox , shifts like shit, intressant service next week
🇫🇷hello from France
Merci
Your draw makes me understand why there are two drain plug and fill on top and level plug on side
Hello, is this tutorial also good for a Ford S-MAX TDCI 2.0 (2008) ? Only that my automatic gearbox (DURASHIFT) doesn't have an oil filter, is it possible? Thank you...Greetings from Italy 🙂
I’ve just changed mine today 4 years after watching your video & putting it off 🙈 great video & relatively easy job to do ! Cheers
Hello from uk. First of all very good detailed video and very easy to understand all the process. I have a 1.6 volvo s80 automatic power-shift gearbox which is a same gearbox made by ford/get-rag. Now my question is that I have seen service kits but all of them are 7 ltrs and i have noticed you have only used 6 ltr of it. Do i need to buy
6ltr or 7 ltr. My local volvo dealer seems to know nothing about it and the only thing they are saying that bring it to us and we will do it for you and cost you fortune. Have you heard about company called westway oils they are on ebay. Any help would be great 👍
+Babar Gull thanks for watching! I would say definitely have 7 litres available as getting the level right can be a bit tricky and can use a bit of oil. Best not to get stranded! Never heard of Westway oils, I will check them out. Cheers
Thank you so much for your great video! I've watched all of your Mondeo videos and this one was by far the one I watched the most and procrastinated in giving it a go. After watching your video a few dozen times I gave it a crack over the weekend. It went exactly as you outlined. I hit exactly 60k since the last service and the car wasn't changing smoothly when shifting down gears to a complete stop. Now there's no evidence of that and it's smooth as! Many thanks again from across the ditch, Philip Island - Melbourne!
That's fantastic. It's always great hearing when people have had success and saved themselves plenty of cash. Mine is still running great 2 years later and I'm about to change the fluid again. Philip Island is a nice place, I saw the penguins walking up the beach a few years ago! Cheers
A hello from the Netherlands. I appreciate your video very much. Now I'm more confident to change the ATF on
my Mondeo myself. Clear explanation of the steps to do and even so a clear and good video. Keep up the good job.A hello from the Netherlands. I appriciate

Very helpful video, thanks. My Kuga with Powershift came to me with the transmission being serviced. I'd like to check the oil level though. Presumably I can just follow the last part, i.e. run to correct temperature, select the gears for 20 seconds each, then with the car level, top up in 250ml increments?
The Kuga is based on the Focus not the Mondeo and the Focus uses a dry clutch powershift. I have no idea how similar it would be to the wet clutch Mondeo version
Kuga 2l Diesel has the 6DCT450 wet clutch Powershift and it's the same procedure as this helpfull video.
Hi mate I’ve got the ford galaxy with the same box and I’m getting a message with transmission limited function is this down to the filter and oil viscosity do you think?
Everything is beautifully described and explained in a semi-pathetic manner. Thank you very much

Thanks badge ,
I’ve done my titanium Mondeo now , to easy with your info , hardest thing getting it jacked up all level !
Used Penrite dct fluid ,got it on special for 70 aud for 4 Ltrs filter was 33 aud genuine Ford . My car has only
80 k on the clock but going on seven years old now ,Ford did the last change at 44k because it was shuddering at speed, got in early this time but it has been three years now , no need for expensive dealer services .
Thanks for making this vid blog 👍👍
Cheers Gmc
Awesome, glad you got it sorted for a reasonable price. Always great to hear when I've saved someone some of their hard earned cash! Cheers
S/V Happyplace 2 Greg how have you found the penrite oil Any issues?
No dramas Josh ,everything functioning as before no shudder or issue to report 👍👍
That's what she said! Very similar to the VW DSG... we use the Fuchs or VW fluid. You can't beat the shifting speed of these though... since the next gear is already engaged, but you are right... manual is the way to go!
+Thomas EXOVCDS haha yep! For an auto they don't suck to drive that is true.
Outstanding! Your information and tutorial was on point. Thank you good sir.
Hi. Just the video I needed. Do you know if my Mondeo 4.5 (from 2011 but 2012 model) is exactly the same as this video?
should be similar. Some of the early models had 3 drain plugs not 2
Very nice outline of what oils you can use and filters Badger. And good follow-up showing the procedure of what Ford recommends. For checking the fluid in the tranny, it looked like you had the car on four jack stands. So, the car being level is probably a good step to follow. Very nice work!
+stuzman52 thanks Terry. Hopefully the information is useful for someone. True, the vehicle needs to be level, I meant to add that into the description. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers!
59 osób nie ma pojęcia jak to zrobić, czyli chłopaki z serwisu Forda I Volvo.
hello from TAIWAN , may I ask your opinion about Castrol DUAL transmax fluid using on 2011 FOCUS TDCi (same powershift 6DCT450) ? , cuz I replaced to Castrol oil and got on road soon the "transmission limited function" showed up , if I start up the engine and holding STILL(not moving) , changing to each gears for 20 secs , no faults appear , I guess the viscosity being higher than the BO-DC for 10% might be key point?
Never used it but castrol make quality products
Hi I've got a Ford Focus 2008 mk2 2.0tdci with Powershift 6DCT450-MPS6 (as ford website shows me from my reg number) gearbox. Is procedure for servicing it gonna be the same? Thank you.
This is the 6DCT450 too so should be the same
Hi, thanks for the video. I've got a 2010 facelift Mondeo with the same Powershift auto. Would the behaviour of the gearbox change in any way so signal that the oil was due for a change? If not, how would i know? Also, how long did it take you from start to finish to do the job?
You should really stick to the recommended service interval of 3 years or 60,000km. If you do the kind of driving that's hard on a transmission, then do it even sooner. Once I got my car lifted it took me about 1.5 hours including all the cleanup etc. But I have an S-max which is even harder to work on than the Mondeo.
Hi where abouts on the car do I find the filter and the 2 drain plugs?? Cheers
Thank you for the very useful easy to follow video. I am about to do the same but noticed oil leak from the transmission cooler pipe, I bough new one but not sure how I can disconnect the old one. Not sure if I should pull or push on the connector. It suppose to be no tools needed job. Any help appreciated.
The stock cooler is a bit of a joke, get a radiator mounted one instead and jig it up. As per the general rule for transmission oil temps...you can never really 'over-cool' them.
Just did mine for the second time, thanks badger
Awesome!
Great video. My 2013 Ford Mondeo was getting the "limited transmission function" error when cold but fine once warmed up. The local garage was going to charge me over $500 NZD to do this job. It was an easy job to do in a few hours and now the car is working fine again. This shows you how important the fluid changes are in these gearboxes. I used Penrite Full Syntetic ATF FS oil.
Fantastic, great to hear. Definitely important maintenance on these transmissions
Alex, hello from Mexico, can I ask you if the procedure that you made was the same that Badgetronix? I have an focus 13 gasoline engine and I want know all as possible before doing anything, thanks in advance!!!
Wrong oil but okay.
Penrite do make a DCT fluid for wet clutch DCT including the Getrag 6dct450.
So after your transmission fluid service did the limited function go away?
Thank you great video and great work
Nice video thanks
right on man, if only it was that easy to change all auto trans fluid. Gotta unbolt the exhaust and drop the pan on my 99 Yukon to change the fluid lol
+Ghostma cheers! This turned out straightforward once I found the right info. Dropping an exhaust to change the fluid sounds crazy
What size Hex allen key socket is required for the sump & refill plugs?
Hi, when you shift gears for 20 seconds each, do you hold your foot on brake the whole time???
I'm not sure if the front wheels need to spin during this process. Thanks
No, it doesn't matter, its about sitting in each gear position for 20 seconds at a time before returning to P.
You do solid work Badger. There were quiet a few steps to follow. I think your wife is right too. I think my cars run better when I wash them, mush less service them. (ha ha)
+wyattoneable thanks Wyatt. Certainly feel better about it after seeing what junk got drained out. Cheers!
Great job, all details mentioned 👍 Couple of questions I have, why not use exactly 5.6L instead of level checking? Also, in case that mileage won't go to 60,000 after 3 or 4 years should we replace it anyway?!!
Yes, do not wait past 3 years if you have a lot of city driving. If you drive very little and mostly highway you could wait longer.
I just replaced the ATF of my focus mk3 tdci, I noticed the color of the old filter turned to black, my question is can I only replace the filter around 20000km? more over, will the AFT drain heavily when it removed from the transmission box?
I'm sure you can but why would you? The filter will be designed to last as long as the fluid. For mine I have just shortened the service interval to 2 years or 40,000kms to provide additional protection. Cheers!
Thank you, really helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, I saw the list of oils, my question is whether Meyle ATF DCG oil is good.(I have a 2013 Ford Galaxy )
I couldn't tell you, never used it. Meyle make decent products though
The genuine filter for 80usd look the same like chinnese one from ali for 10usd..The quality difference is critical?
Unless you can look at it and feel it, wouldn't bother. Use genuine or a filter made by a reputable company.
Done this job yesterday on wife's C-Max after watching this video so cheers for this. All done and dusted inside an hour. Oil certainly not cheap but at least saved a lot of money doing it myself.
+James R great stuff, glad I could be of help. A year on mine is still running great. Cheers!
Mate. I followed your video instructions. I stuffed it up and now my car is stuffed. Can you send me your postal address. I need to post you a subpoena for civil court. Cheers
This is how I serviced the transmission. No warranties expressed or implied, use this information at your own risk. This video is for entertainment purposes only.
Off topic a little but I have just been offered a 2012 Mondeo with powershift, it's covered 108k miles will it be needing new clutches anytime soon?
I've not heard of any boxes needing new clutches so probably not for a while to come. Depends on how it has been used and serviced I suppose.
Thanks!
Super robota! 🇵🇱
Do you uave to have the car off all 4 wheels
Did you use the Ford/Volvo oil or an alternative ? i know the Volvo stuff is expensive in the UK , i can get Fuchs & Morris DTC oil quite a bit cheaper , all the info says it matches the Manufacturers spec , just curious as to what you used 👍
I used the Morris DCT with great results
Cool , thats what i’ve just used for my engine oil change , obviously not the dct stuff , the local motor factors up the road is a Morris lubricants stockist , i’ll order 7 litres from there & get it done 👍 whats the worst that can happen eh 😀👍
Problem now is that new cars with manual trans are about to be obsolete, at least in my country Egypt
You can't buy a manual Mondeo here
what size Allen Hex Key Bit fits the gear box plugs on Mondeo 2016 diesal
Not too sure on the 2016 sorry. Never seen one
The fluid that came out looked a bit dark and sparkly (Gothic Disco?) for only two years of operation. Probably a good thing you got in there to change it out! Seems like a simple enough procedure once you know what's required. :D
+rhkips haha Gothic disco! The Ford fluid starts off dark green so hard to say how much darker than when it started. The sparkles were pretty but not really a welcome sight. Cheers!
Badgertronix
Little sparkles are okay; it's the big ones you have to watch out for! Always tough to tell on camera what's a bubble and what's a piece of bushing material...
+rhkips it is hard to tell, even with the pan in front of your face. I think it's in good shape though!
Thanks for this video. Followed it to the letter and saved myself over £200. Thanks again.
+Bob Paterson great to hear! Thanks for watching
Hello. I have a question. what does holding the gear leavel for 20 second do. Would you beleive fords have quoted me £305 pounds to do this on my Mondeo 2016 model when it needs doing.
+Advent Cliff hi, I think it just ensures the fluid is adequately circulated so you get a more accurate level. Wow that's not cheap but if the cars under warranty when it needs doing it might be easier to stick with Ford just in case it breaks down the line.
Thank you for info. I will stick with fords to do gear box service. As i'm not doing many miles I will leave it for 3 years. By then I will have done about 30 thousand miles. Still a lot to pay for less than a hours work.
The main problem is leaking DCT fluid with contaminated the clutch.
Btw do you think Lucas stop leak will help?
It's a wet clutch transmission... I'd be more concerned if the clutches were dry 🤣
Badgertronix WTF! haha my bad lol! My Powershift is almost like a manual with its dry clutch design...
Anyway do you think I will benefit from Lucas Transmission stop leak? Like 20% added to my DCTF? Just to make sure there’s no leak
My tranny is DPS6
Hi Badge, can i ask what size allan key or hex it is to fit the plugs, good videos as always
They are all 8mm
Excellent video. On which tyre arch do you access the levelling plug?
Left side when you are sat in the car
Hi do you think could solve a limping problem on a 2010 s max
Probably not unless the car was here
Hi, you call it a powershift transmission (dual clutch) is that so?
Yes
Excellent video.
I've been mulling over a Titanium X Poweshift....But horror stories over problems, same as VAG's DSG box make me hesitant.
I know the manuals are robust...But even Clutch/DMF on these are expensive when they fail. The internet is great...But also a nightmare because you find problems with everything if you look!!!!!
Btw
Not bad that the car has done Well over 100k and box is running fine.... Maintenance is key, like you said.
+Graham Evans thank you!
These wet clutch Powershift transmissions don't have a bad reputation unlike the dry clutch ones on the fiesta and focus. The DSG problems seem to be finally going away with the latest generation of boxes too.
6 months on from the service and the car still runs great.
I've been impressed with the Mondeo in the year we've had it, it's a massive car and plenty of power from the TDI. Cheers
I was all Fords when I was younger....Fiesta XR2's, Capri's etc....all classics now.
The Mk 4 Mondeo has a good reputation....my mates had a Manual Titanium Diesel for 6 years...it's been faultless...and he bought it with 70k on the clock.
I just fancy a high spec version.....but with autobox.
Would love a Jag S-Type 2.7 Diesel..but again my boring sensible side says...MONEY...if...when...it goes wrong!!!!!
btw....
Been to NZ twice....tried to relocate to New Plymouth...sadly didn't work out.
Keep up the good work ace.....
+Graham Evans we grew up with Fords from cortinas to cosworths and everything in between. They were always good to us (except the Granada's 😂). The Mondeo is turning out to be a fantastic car and so much room. My mum had an S Type once, it spent a lot of time at the dealership.
That's the thing....Jag prices......and very complicated.
I test drove Titanium X Diesel Powershift and was impressed.
I'm not a badge snob...so I think that's my target now.
thanks for sharing the vid clip, I am trying to change the ATF of my Focus mk3 TDCI 163P in one of theses days, I found the torque value of the filter in another vid clip ua-cam.com/video/Fy0TVRWjFfg/v-deo.html is 45Nm, it is 3 times difference from your torque value, but I think yours is much reliable, I used to question them about the "45Nm", but they removed my message, it is weird, I just left the same question again, see what will they do.
+Aeon Denn thanks for watching! Any torque figures I started came directly from the Ford factory service manual so I'm happy they are correct. I wouldn't get too concerned about the exact figure though, just snug it up like you would an engine oil filter. Cheers!
Hello from Russia, Thanks for great review.
It's regular filter change, how about second filter change? Is it possible or it requires to take off gearbox?
+Alex V. Nadervel hello back from New Zealand. Thanks for watching!
I haven't looked into the internal filter yet, the Ford service schedule only details the external filter change. I believe the internal filter is similar to normal automatic transmissions and you just drop the oil pan off, but I haven't done any research yet.
Thanks!
You have to strip transmission apart to change it. You can remove valve body and back flush it to help with issues sometimes.
good job looks like you worked up a sweat lol
Great video. 5star😊
I have Dodge Journey 2009 2.0crd same transmission and planning self change transmission fluid and filter.
Can tell me somebody are have experience with MEYLE fluid and filter?
Sell it off ASAP.
@@DoubtingThomas333 tomorrow second change transmission fluid 😃
Hello from Argentina, Valvoline Mercon V is Ok for this gear box? thanks
Absolutely not. It needs a DCT fluid
@@Badgertronix thank you
Hi , Great Vid, could you send me a link to the UK Ford dealer to get the cheaper parts , please
Thanks. I just got them off eBay and that was a couple of years ago so not sure on a current source
@@Badgertronix cheers
The engine must running when You chech oil level...
well, that's only if you want to include the total including channel volume... if you just want to base it on the sump volume, that's what I'd go by, after it's been sitting overnight.
Very well illustrated video Badger and excellent camera vision.
+James Ferguson thanks for the comments and thanks for watching!
I got rid of my focus with the power shift gearbox after it started to judder and make stage noises, l would never buy a ford auto again.
The Focus Powershift is totally different to the larger Mondeo version. I try to never buy an auto from any manufacturer, they all end in expensive tears.
The reason for the existence of the dithering and dimming in the gear automatic system
Ford focus 2012
No idea. This isn't the same gearbox as the Focus
How to solve the problem
Did you try replacing the fluid with Jaffa Cakes? They're delicious but are they a biscuit or a cake?
@@Badgertronix
They're a cake. They go hard when the go off.
