She must have really trusted this interviewer, she is the most open and down to earth that I have ever seen. He asks interesting questions and lets her answer fully (so many interviewers interrupt her) No banal or annoying questions. I think she is in her parents kitchen, which probably helps. She comes across as an intelligent, spiritual and sensitive person, wise beyond her young years. So un-pop star then and now, thank you for posting this rather wonderful video for us to enjoy.
Definitely one of the best interviews I've seen of her like you said she looked alot more comfortable and he didn't act stupid or have any silly one liners and let her speak, extremely enjoyable!
Wow, her perception of happiness made me think about how I am and it's so right. Man I love kate, how could everything about her is perfect. She's probably the most precious artist the past 50 years
The part where she spoke about missing people in her life that had passed away, but how they’re probably having a great time wherever they are... made me think of a dream I had the night after my grandma died. I was very distraught because I was really close to her, and I cried myself to sleep. I dreamed I saw her in heaven but heaven looked like her favorite mountain cabin and her husband was there(my grandpa who died before I was born), and they were both younger, like 30’s. I just remember she hugged him and said “I wish I’d have come here a long time ago!”. I’m rambling, but Kate talking about that made that memory come to me. Kate’s much more intuitive than the average pop star/songwriter/musician. To me it’s what makes her music so much better than most’s.
One of the (myriad) incredible things about her is how she naturally "peaked" from a wisdom standpoint very early on. She has a set of deep running, however not rigid, moral principles, as she sees them as her own and has no need of pushing her agenda on anyone else, as she realizes there is in fact none. She realizes the joy of life is in the "small" things and the interaction with your inner artistic self and other like-minded people. I think this is in part due to her upbringing, which never seemed to stunt her character development from what I've gathered. Then in '77 to '79, when she went through "the thick of it", being catapulted to stardom, being picked apart by media like it was a crows' feast, struggling for creative authority, she managed to stay grounded and true to herself in the midst of that, not unscathed yet steadfast, which to me is a true testament to her character strength. Facing hardships and instead of jamming up and becoming callous, using newfound resilience to inspire others and herself with tenderness. A true artist, icon and mayhaps most importantly, human.
Lazarush - how can you say this lady is non intellectual?!! She is by far one of the most talented and intelligent women in popular music and has been from a child!! Love her music from this period!
Damn, this is more of a conversation than an interview. I've never seen her so natural In an interview before. I mean she's always comes across very down to earth but this particularly shows off that side of her.
4:32 How do you define happiness? Me: Kate Bush No seriously Kate Bush makes me happy, she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She has the most perfect personality that any guy should have in a gal you know? Watching her sing, dance and speak clearly makes me think of how women should be treated and be like. Bush is an independent lady who is strong and can do it on her two feet and I appreciate it. She’s such a sweet thing, whom is happy, caring and shy. What more can you say when you define Kate Bush and my happiness. Rock on Kate! 1:32 And that is the reason your still here Kate, with a heart of shyness and beauty like that. Your autograph will be recieved. You can’t lie that she is what you call a perfect human being, got all the qualities in my book, beautiful, kind, caring, trustworthy, understanding etc. Like she is a living breathing Disney princess
5:16 laughed off like a true introvert. Great interview, one of the best i've seen with her. Very candid, interesting questions, and very open answers.
The more I listen to her the more I like her. Here her young, playful nature shines through at various points, but listening to her latest interviews (2011-2012) it's clear that she has lost none of her humor and easy-going personality.
I've never watched this interview on youtube before, but part 1 though. I like this one better, it looks warmer and sounds warmer probably. I was in an Op Shop/Charity Shop recently, rifling through their collection of old records, when I found a nice surprise: an original copy of "The Kick Inside" album, with the famous cover all yellowed and warn but still complete. I smiled. I always wanted a vinyl version of one of her early albums (to see how different it sounds from today's digital), but what's even better is that now I've got an original record of her original album bought by someone when it first came out in the late 70s; If the record was printed in Britain instead of Australia it would of been even better. But that's asking for too much.I've yet to listen to it though, as there are some other old records I've bought earlier from Op Shops that I still have to finish listening to first (I tend to do things in order now days). But be assured, when I get to The Kick Inside album, I will be the happiest man in the world.
+Daxkalak Just to clarify, the other albums I mentioned are by and of other artists and genres, not Kate Bush. And after checking up a dictionary, my use of the word "rifling" was not a good choice, lol. Why would I burgle a Charity store just to steal stuff I could get for a few dollars or cents? ha. But to think of it, I like my use of the word rifling in this instance, it sounds better than if I wrote: "flipping through their collection of old records" or "perusing (ick!) through their collection of old records".
Intelligent, creative, imaginative, superbly talented, and as if all that's not enough there's that beauty which seems so unearthly were she not so cute and down to earth.
Without the slightest bit of hanky panky, it would be so delightfully refreshing to cuddle her. I suppose Kate must still be adorable; she's ever so admirable too.
@lazarush1980 "Non intellectual"? No, Kate is widely seen (now days) as a very intelligent person. There was an unfair perception of her as a ditz by some people back in the day, but most interviewers who did their homework usually noted her getting 10 "O levels". We don't know what they were, but I'm sure at least one of them was for mathematics.

Maybe, she thought he was cute too? Lol
My thoughts too. Very open for Kate
I could listen to her all day, she's so calm and spiritual.

I am hypnotized by her intelligence and her beauty. I feel lucky for having gotten to know her music. Kate is the best
Just when I thought I couldn't love her any more than I already did! She's so mesmerising
I love hearing how humble she is at the beginning of this interview. Hollywood types and pro athletes should take note of it.

Such natural beauty and expressiveness. She is a genuine, creative, once in a generation talent.
Loved that interview, she's just so amazing everything she says is so clever and kate seems so down to earth, I just love her
Talented, beautiful, humble.
She was so well balanced in her life view! No wonder her songs are so deep and meaningful. Clever girl!

She is Amazing. amazing attitude.

Her husband is a very lucky man I think.
Dios, cada vez que la escucho la amo mas🤣😍😍😍 Amé lo que dijo sobre ser feliz...nunca lo había visto desde ése punto de vista
She is so special.
Thank you. Never enough Kate. Thank youthankyouthankyou !
I've been pondering that for years...
Fantastic. Thanks for posting.
I couldn’t possibly rank my AllTimeTop5 favorite artists (of which Kate is most definitely included) but there is no other I’d rather listen to talk

Kate Bush interview on Canadian City-TV "Profiles in Rock" on December 1980 - Part 2/2
"Are you happy?" Bloody hell. With that face, hair, figure and talent she'd better be....
oh
I LOVE YOU KATE!
I love this video, shes so cool!
thanks uploader
Kate Bush is everything...
The interviewer is so indifferent. How can someone watch this without falling in love with her?
6:22 Aww He's melting here
@@WantonMyth Haha, true. I'd really need to make an effort not just to stare at her and stutter! She's enchanting.
La amoooooo
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
thanks..
there's never too much kate bush to watch!.....
Artist shouldn't be made famous, They are as important as a doctor or a priest. That's a very good point
Kate saw herself as an artist vs a celebrity . I don’t blame her for reacting against the culture
She's not stupid, she must have known something about pi.
I KNOW SOMEONE WHO SAT ON A TRAIN WITH HER BUT HE WAS TOO SHY TO TALK
MARK BROCK
mmm mmm
Yes~! mncvie\
Who would think she was in the illuminati
She starts lying at about 5:12.
Lying?
