The people of this country, commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his loyal companions by holding various ceremonies and rituals.
This month, which reaches its climax with the event of Ashura and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) on the 10th of Muharram, is a significant opportunity to express sympathy and devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). Across Iran, people engage in mourning ceremonies, recitations of lamentations, chest-beating, and chain-whipping to mourn.
In my city, for many years, people gather together in the city for ten days of mourning and express their sympathy to the family members in different ways. In this video, you will see Tasu'a night, various chain-whipping groups, and flags decorated in memory of Hazrat Abolfazl.
These groups finally meet and mourn in the biggest square of the city.
