Nice accomplishment - congratulations on checking off your list! I did nearly the same course a few years ago, but hiked instead of run. Running that is a very nice effort! Beautiful images as well!
WOW!!😮 What a awesome magical beautiful scenic trail! ! It's otherworldly! You're in top athletic shape to pull this off! Please make videos of your adventures!! 😅
You got game girl! Thanks for the show. A golf buddy's daughter entered the Arizona self supported south to north border MTB race 800+ miles and carried her gear and a 26 pound bike on her back through the Grand Canyon NP as they are not legal. Thanks for lighting a fire!
I would have definitely gotten my shoes wet…..haha. Great Vid…..I love your channel cause it gives me a chance to have a peek into your adventures which fills my mom heart❤
When I was 18, I ran a marathon in Fairbanks; 26 miles 385 yards as I recall. I had not trained for it and wore regular tennis shoes and jeans. About mile 24, something popped in my left foot arch and I limped for over 6 months after the race! I think I was 75th out of 1200 runners and I was humbled by young women leaving me in the dust toward the end of the race. Of course, I now realize women are much stronger than men in many ways. Best of luck Court!
Does it take you a day or 2 to recover? I imagine tomorrow you just burst out of bed with insane energy like a magical fairy! Even at the end you seem pretty spritely!! Ive set some difficult goals myself and its not easy to change habits, but im slowly inching closer day by day.. Baby steps! Love your spirit and motivation!
Great video, I need to GTFO of Tucson, I miss No AZ, Flag and Oregon. I want to wander, travel and trail run again which I will! I need to get my lower back healthier which is almost there. I have one goal run another trail 50k and get back to No AZ. ✌️
@@johnnynitro7523 well ya never know! one of my favorite quotes is “you don’t stop running because you get old, you get old because you stop running”. just a perspective, i bet you could hike it🤙🏼
I think to a large degree, limitations are in our mind. I didn't run for nearly 3 yrs due to injury (cartilage in both knees, and then plantar Fasciitis) - I genuinely thought that I wouldn't be able to run again. Little by little, after my recovery, I strengthened, increased mobility, and started running again from scratch and here I am, at 60, probably as fit as I was at 30 (no BS). Yeah, it takes time to recover from injury .... Where recovery is possible of course, but if you are prepared to work hard, you can achieve great things. I hiked the North to South Rim about 18 yrs ago and met a 75 yr old guy who was doing it for the 5th time, so Court is right, if you are alive and fit enough, why not hike it in your 70's? On a side note, I'm surprised that the Altras lasted 27 miles ha ha ... I have had four pairs of Altras and I think they are the least durable trail shoes that I have ever owned! Maybe they just export the crap ones to us guys across the pond!
It’s all about the choices you make along the way to 70. I stopped running after my 4th child for more than 15 years. I got so sick of doing nothing during the draconian lockdowns that I laced up a pair of On Clouds and have been running for 5 years now without missing a day…..I’m almost 60.
@ wow thank you for sharing that!!! thats amazing good for you for not giving up on yourself. and altras are definitely the least durable out there😹 but comfiest in my opinion!
