  • This week I'm trying out Logic Pro 2 on my 12.9 Inch iPad Pro M2 (couldn't justify an update to the M4 iPad Pro). Trying out some midi controllers to see if they have the same mapping as the Mac Logic Pro, and making a song with some of the new sounds!

    Well done man! Even if the iPad is not perfect for this yet, you are in we creative state and it’s awesome to watch.

    Enjoyed watching your video and liked your beat! Can I ask, were you able to use a sustain pedal with the mk3 and logic on the iPad? I’ve been trying to get mine to work with my komplete kontrol mk2 without much luck at all. Thanks

    I wonder why i and so many others are buying IPads for music production when we know that apple wants us to use the touch surface , I have both desktop Logic on a MacBook Pro and the iPad version on an M2 one TB IPad , and after a year i regret using so much cash on a iPad Pro , I should have bought a new MBP instead , i am very tiered of restrictions that are so heavy , i need midi learn cause i use Logic and MainStage for live use also with a Nord stage 4 , i love the Vintage organ in a band context and it can be setup with nord so i can use the Drawbars on the Nord also on the IPad version , Apple could do a lot more on the iPad version without any problem regarding midi learn and compatibility with controllers , but I guess they just wont and it makes me tired 😅

      I feel this, definitely regret going with the 1 tb m2 as well, could have easily got by with a 256 gig

    “Is the 10th Generation iPad worth it for productivity? I’m from Brazil, and unfortunately, the prices of products here are quite high. The only interesting option, the Air 5, won’t be available in a few months, leaving only the 10th generation. Thank you, great video.”

      I think it would be okay, probably slower in most ways but it’s still a pretty solid device for the cost

    Where would you say its more reliable and easier to practice beginner keyboard skills, iPad or Macbook? I have both but sometimes i feel the iPad its more visual and simple to see the midi notes.
    Also im a beginner, i dont make more than just a beats but im thinking about replace ipad from 32gb to 256gb so i can use the alchemy library without being concerned about storage.

    I got an iPad and launchpad x thinking it would work for Live Loops but nahhh. Even did my research on the web but didn’t really find anything useful. Totally wish I saw this before hand. So how can we suggest updating the compatibility of these units, also who to whom, notation or logic

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  27 днів тому +1

      Honestly I’m not sure. Ideally apple would spend some cash to incentivize companies to support iPad logic properly, but I don’t get the sense that’s how they operate. For other companies, putting the money into supporting logic on iPad may not seem worth the cost for them

    Apparently if you open a Garage Band project in Logic on iPad , the Transport Controls work. 🤯

    Is the ipad any good as a synthesizer? I figured it is cheaper than buying hardware synths. Like an iridium is $2k+, and is basically a well laid out vst with some hardware controls. I figure the ipad having really good touch response is cheaper and I can continue to update it as new synths for it come out, where as with a hardware synth, once it is discontinued, there is no more growing.

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  День тому +1

      The iPad is a fantastic synthesizer as far as pure sound generation goes! There’s a lot of cheap and high quality synthesis apps from small and large manufacturers. That said, a lot of why people like hardware synths is the hands on control and sound design elements. From a pure sound perspective you can find apps and DAWs that will generate or sample basically any sound you could want on iPad, I still gravitate towards hardware as part of my studio because I like the feeling of making music without a computer sometimes. But the iPad is very impressive as a synth

      @@DylanParisMusic do you think the M2 is good? The refurbished M2 12.9 with 500gb version is about $400 cheaper than the new m4 with only 256gb.

    This is why i say just buy the MacBook Air. The iPad is built to work alone and the m1-m3 MacBook air will run anything for cheaper

    Something you should be aware of & I assume u already kno..
    Native Instruments keyboards in general never auto map to anything other than Maschine & Komplete Kontrol
    And in the case of Their Mk3 keyboards those don't even work with Maschine anymore 😂 😂.

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  25 днів тому

      Interestingly they did the work to automap to logic, but apparently it only worked for the desktop logic

      @@DylanParisMusic how is having a bit of software play drums/bass along with your developing song "have a robot make your music for you"?
      Are you intentionally trying to make your followers who might find that useful feel bad about themselves?
