Nicely done! The design and build quality of the homes are wonderful. It is refreshing to see such passion for modest size homes, quality construction details, unique design solutions, and the attention to finish details including furniture and art. Your homes have a soul and personality missing from most new home construction. I’m inspired by your bravery and boldness! Wish you all the best! Robert Lipka, Architect ps, nearly forgot to mention the videos are well done too! Looking forward to what you do next.
Oh my goodness!!! Your comment means so much to me! And it came at such a pivotal moment for me....I have been struggling with my videos recently as I've had a crash of confidence in my ability to film and edit videos. I started with a construction vlog and moved into home tours of my past builds. My construction vlog has been on hold as we had to completely redesign the front stairs (due to a mistake by the architect unfortunately 😢) and I've been mourning the loss of the original design. I just haven't been able to bring myself to finish editing the video where I talk about exactly what happened with the front stairs. But, your comment has honestly inspired me to keep moving forward with my videos! I feel a burst of creativity and for that I am so appreciative! And to circle back to the first part of your comment.... Again, Thank you!!! Doing things differently than the norm can sometimes be very lonely and when someone acknowledges and appreciates the passion, love and work I put into these houses it just validates what I do in a way that only comments like yours can. Especially since you are an architect and really have an eye for these things. Thank you so much Mr. Lipka. Your comment is so very very appreciated and I can't express how much it means to me. ♥
Both homes are absolutely perfect. These homes should be code permissible everywhere. As an empty nester, I would be happy to live in something 900 sq.ft or less
Hi! Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful comment! And yes, I believe this floor plan meets all codes. I'm almost an empty nester and this place is just perfect for me. I can see myself living in this home for a very long time. ❤
HI!!!! I'm so honored that you DID leave a comment! And such a kind one! Thank you so much for not only taking the time to watch my video all the way through but also to leave such an amazing comment❤ It really means so much!
I love both of the tiny houses, but especially love yours! The colors, the art, the sweet dog and cat, oh my... you have made such a beautiful home. Thank you for sharing.
Hi! Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving such an amazing comment :) I LOVE my pets! And my art! Thank you again...I really do appreciate your comment so much! ♥
Hi! Thank you so much! I love both for different reasons :) I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and leave such a thoughtful comment! It really means a lot ♥
Your tiny home is beautiful, the entry way is a plus. I love the entire set up and the warm colors. I was suprised to see 2 bathrooms in your tiny home, but the more bathrooms the better.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! And yes, an entryway is such a luxury! I sacrificed closet space for that extra bathroom....but sharing a bathroom with a teenage boy isn't ideal hahaha. Anyway, thanks again!!!!🥰
Both styles are gorgeous! I’m a big fan of wood tones, but I also love the vibrant colors in the first home. Love all the drawers and organization in the first kitchen, and love the retro appliances in the second. The floor to ceiling windows in the living room are great too.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! I love both houses too :) Thank you so much for the very detailed comment! I agree with you....I also love wood tones and vibrant colors. The antique doors in the second home are so amazing. I kinda wish I had chosen to go with a retro fridge in my house. I realize I just don't need a huge fridge. I'm a huge fan of windows! the more glazing the better! Thank you again for not only watching my video but taking the time to leave such a detailed comment. It really does mean a lot :)♥
Yes! That floor tiling is 🔥 I was so excited when I found it! And those retro fridges are amazing. Thank you so much.for not only taking the time to watch my video but also to leave such a nice comment ♥
Hi! Thank you!!! I really took all the suggestions to heart! Thank you for giving me another chance and taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment ♥
Hi! The second home is so calming and zen! I think I'd love to spend time in the second one sometimes! Life can get to crazy and chaotic that having a nice peaceful place to come home too is so nice. I also love the additional amenities of the first home. It's a very different situation between the two houses...one is for living in and the other will be an airbnb. Thank you so much for not only watching the video but also taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment. 🥰
I like your house best, it’s something about the darker colors that make it cozy. Well done video, love the background music and the narration over the video is more effective than trying to talk while your filming. Including the plan also helps! Love it!
I love the antique doors, cement tile, and beams in the second design, but I adore your home. The bold colors (yes!), art, and your personality make me want to linger. I think the reason your house works so well is that is is designed for you and your son. And I think the trick to thriving in a small space is that the house works for you and how you live. I would need art, books, a piano, a record player, and appropriate storage, and that would be the key. That being said, thank you for sharing your art, and now i will go down a rabbit hole of your designs (hopefully).
Hi! Oh my goodness, thank you so much for such a kind and thoughtful comment! I am so passionate about what I do and it feels great to have all the work validated 🥰 I am actually planning to do more home tours of other homes I've built and designed. I love the chance to share my work on this platform. Thank you so much for the support! It really means the world to me ♥
Both of these houses are adorable! It's nice that they're not too tiny. If i was having one built, i would omit the bathroom off the bedroom, to have more storage. It always seems unnecessary to me to have 2 bathrooms in a small house. This is the most original plan i have seen, for a tiny home. I like that there is no loft. Now i am going to watch the video again. Congratulations on your skills and talents ❤
Hi! Thank you so much for watching and leaving such a thoughtful comment! And yes, totally agree about the extra bathroom! If I didn't live with a teenage boy....hahaha....then I could get away with just one bathroom for sure! Thank you again!!! ♥
Thank you!!! The colorful one is the one I live in, so I would agree with you! Thank you for leaving a comment and watching my video! It really means so much ♥
Hi! Thank you! Me too! I love them both for different reasons. It would be great to own both....and when I needed a break from one, I could to the other :) Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving a comment! I truly appreciate it!♥
Thank you! There is a definite difference between the first (that is lived in) and the second, which is brand new. I really appreciate your comment and kind words!
Hi! Thank you so much! The second one is so calming and zen. I definitely understand the choice! I appreciate you watching my video and taking the time to leave such a kind comment ♥
Wow! First of all, I enjoyed seeing something other than the rectangular, 14ft high tiny home. Although the box-shaped tiny homes feel like they have more space, given the hight of the ceiling, your in your design makes for a more cozy feeling. You didn't say anything about it, but I'm assuming that raising the house creates storage underneath, hidden by the skirting. And your interior decor is stunning! The use of tiles as a design statement really impressed me, and, of course, the art work, although that's a personal touch rather than a design feature. If tiny houses have proven anything it's that you don't need a lot of space to have a fully equipped and very functional kitchen, and yours is no exception. Although, two people working in the kitchen together would be a challenge for all but the most in-synch couple in the universe. lol The one thing that you didn't directly show was the storage/closet part of the master bath, although we saw a glimpse of it via the mirror, and in the second house as well. And I didn't see a work station for yourself. Perhaps your office is in a separate building, along with your business. However it might be something that would be missed for another family or individual. One small detail that I liked, and that softened the feel of the house, was the curtains under the sinks rather than doors. It made it feel very homey and added a softened slpash of colour when compared to the walls. One choice that I would make would be to have, wherever possible, pocket doors to maximize space. So - a long comment, but it's because I was so impressed with your design! Now I have to see where I could incorporate some of your ideas into my fantasy tiny home. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi! Thank you so much for the VERY thoughtful and kind comment! First, you are so amazing to leave such a detailed comment! Cozy is exactly the word my son and I use to describe our home ♥ And you are correct, there is storage below. Very important because as a builder I have so many tools and building materials under the house. In my very first video on this channel I film the intro under my house :) I'm so glad you recognized the artwork. I LOVE art. I mean....I would buy so much more if I had the space! haha. In fact, I have amazing art pieces currently in storage and it breaks my heart! And regarding my kitchen.....I cook alone haha. I agree...one more person in there would be tough. I didn't really show my closet cuz it's messy lol. There's not a lot of storage, but I don't have many clothes or shoes. I actually am planning to build myself a 180 sq foot studio on the same property....maybe next year.... currently I work at the gate leg table in the living room....not ideal. I do have a small office in Galveston, but when I work at home I use my table in the living room. So dinner time, I have to clear everything away so we can sit at the table to eat. Definitely NOT ideal. But I make it work until I can have a studio on property. I wish I had added MORE pocket doors, but unfortunately there were some spots where I just couldn't add one. Anyway! I am filming 3 other tiny homes I built on the island and hope to upload those videos soon. They are quite different. One is my tiniest home built at only 392 sq feet. Thank you again for your comment! It really means the world to me when people engage in the comments on my videos :)
Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my video! I didn't show the clothes storage in the first house, but it is minimal. I have a ton of art, but I don't have very many clothes or shoes. So a lot of clothes storage just wasn't necessary. And regarding toiletries, the first bathroom has an antique medicine cabinet with lots of storage. I don't have much in the way of bathroom toiletries either....toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap and lotion. That's about it haha. Oh and toilet paper. :) I don't wear makeup or have hair products....I also don't have a hair dryer or curling iron. I'm pretty much a minimalist in this area hahaha
I love how the first house looked so much older due to both the trim & cabinet choices, along with the paint colors. And aside from not being a fan of keeping bedroom closets in a bathroom space, I think the layout of these houses are really nice as well.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment. The first house is only 3.5 years old :) and I was for sure designing it in a way that made it look "vintage" so I really appreciate that you noticed! Thank you for taking the time to comment, it means so much to a new/small creator 🥰
I liked the floor plan of the but liked the color scheme and tiles on the 2nd house better. I wasn't a fan of all the different colors in the 1st one but I understand that color choices are very personal. Thanks for the tour and congrats on the build.
Both are really nice, but I love all the cabinets in the 1st, I can see me in the 2nd but would definitely be painting some of the walls because I love color like you.. great job…😊
Hi! Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I NEED color in my life! I really appreciate the support. Not just watching my video but also taking the time to leave such a nice comment♥
Hi! Thank you so much for the kind words! Design is my passion and it's amazing to be able to share it on this platform :) Thank you for not only taking the time to watch my video but also to leave such a nice comment ❤ It means the world to a new/small creator!
I love both for different reasons, the first is cozy and feels like home..love anything Farrow & Ball too; the second is calming and refreshing..a great place to totally relax And I love the idea of connecting the porches...
Thank you so much! I'm partial to the first one too :) I really appreciate you not only taking the time to watch my video but also to leave such a kind comment. It means the world to a small/new content creator 🥰
Thank you! I really appreciate you giving me a second chance! I took all the feedback and did my best to make a better video. Thank you for letting me know! 🥰
My house was built in 1900. It is 690 ft.² and that is good enough for me. Out of these two on the video, I like the second one more. It’s just brighter and more airy and feels more spacious. I like color but not dark dark colors.
Hi! I love old home so much! How lucky to live in a home from the 1900's! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and leave a thoughtful comment 🥰
This video is much better than the first one you did of your tiny house. Thank you. ♥ As for which home I prefer...I'm leaning more towards yours because of the colour and the fact that you don't have a stove. Stoves take up so much room and I'm not a cook, so a toaster oven/air fryer and a hotplate suits me fine. The other house had good points as well. I like the window in the bedroom better, although I would prefer the window on the back wall rather than behind the bed. A window behind the bed is not good Feng Shui. 😊I like the fridge better in the second home, but I like the cupboards better in yours. I like the bathrooms in the second house better as well. One thing I don't like is the closet in the bathroom. Thanks for sharing your designs. They are lovely. I could live in a tiny home with a similar design, although I personally don't need two bathrooms or two bedrooms.
Thank you!!! I took all the comments and feedback to heart! I really appreciate that you gave me a second chance and took the time to not only watch but also to leave such a thoughtful and detailed comment. If I was just living alone or with a partner, I would probably only have one bathroom. But there's something about sharing a bathroom with a teenage boy that makes you want your own 🤣 If I had only one bathroom , I would move my closet to the space the second bathroom currently takes up. It's definitely not ideal to have a bathroom/ closet combination. To have my own bathroom though.... it was a sacrifice I was happy to make :)
You have done an amazing job with both houses. I love yours because of the bold colours and amazing artwork. Your kitchen is more pratical storage wise. The layout is amazing. You are so talented!!
Hi! Thank you so much for the kind words! And thank you for commenting and engaging on my video. It means so much to a new and small creator. I really appreciate you!
Both designs are nice. I’m claustrophobic so the airy feeling of the second home appeals to me more. I think even though your home has all the colors, which are lovely, if door and window frames throughout the home were painted the same color it would tie your home together and help with the flow.
Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment. I really really appreciate it! I also love the light and airy feeling of the second home ♥
Pricing is very subjective....the first house was built in 2020 , in Houston (not windstorm) and since it was my personal home, most subs gave me a great deal. I also built it for cost. The second home was built this year and on an island. 1st house was built for $130k and second house was built for $180k. Thanks so much for commenting on my video!
I am a person who need to see light and airy space because saturated colors can sometimes make feel depressed. Therefore, I vote for the openess of tiny house number two.
Absolutely! There is something so calming and peaceful about the second home :) Thank you so much for taking the time to not only watch my video but also to leave such a nice comment! ❤
I love both but for different reasons. I like the lighter colors of the new build but like your kitchen, entry way (the storage bench in particular) and the furniture better. I do love the tiles in the new build. Thanks for the floor plan. One question, the back door out of your bedroom, does that deck connect to the front or is it a separate one?
Hi! Thank you so much for the feedback! The back door leads out to a small porch in back. It does not connect to the front porch, but that would be a great idea!
Like both, lol. The moody blues in ur house. Tiles in second house. Ur master bath. Hall bath of second. Prefer style in ur kitchen but do like lower placement of microwave in second kitchen. Ground level & they're perfect. Great job. P.S. Using the same color for both trim & walls, makes rooms look bigger, love.
@@beverlyharrison7949 Hi! Thank you so much for your positive comments! I have been painting the trim, walls and ceilings of the homes I build since my second ever build! I love it. I think it's also more modern and fresh :) Again, thank you so much for not only taking the time to watch my video but also to comment! It means so much to me as a small/new creator 🥰
I like the lighter model best, the model with white and natural tones. It seems much bigger than the dark model but that’s just my opinion. Love the floor plans though!
Hi! Thank you so much for leaving such a nice comment! Yes, I agree. The second home DOES feel larger. It's also probably because it has much less stuff in it than the first. :) Again, thank you for not only watching my video but taking the time to leave a comment. It really does mean a lot ❤
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that you not only took the time to watch my video but also to comment :) It means the world to a new and small creator 🥰
I like your home best. It's more warm like someone actually lives in it lol! The other house makes me think they are not done adding things especially the kitchen and didn't like their bathroom either, but that's my pick and why.😊
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment on my video! I'm partial to the first house too 🥰 I really appreciate you taking the time to not only watch my video but also to comment :) Means the world to a small/new creator!❤
Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a nice comment! ♥You are correct, having that large closet makes a huge difference. Especially since he needs (wants) such a large desk setup!
Cooking in that second house, is going to be a plain nightmare ! Impossible to see clearly what’s going on in you pans, no room at all above the stove 🙄 ! Who made that choice never cook a day in its life ! Probably feed on ordered pizzas and McDonald’s !
I like the second house, I’m a pretty neutral person lol. My only concern is…. 1. The fact that there are no cabinets in the kitchen and 2. Is there any place you can fit a washer/dryer? Also I would choose your color in the kitchen! I do love that dark green 🥰 and the bedroom that dark blue! And I LOVE your tile on the floor!I would definitely give up a bathroom for a laundry/cat litter/ utility room for sure! Otherwise these are cute, functional, and totally doable tiny homes! Great job!
Hi! First....Thank you so much for your really thoughtful comment! I'm going to do my best to address all your points! First....I do LOVE the second one even though I live with so much color! It's so calming and zen. Yeah...the kitchen was ultimately designed for aesthetics rather than functionality because it was slated to be an airbnb :) But for everyday living....that would be tough! I failed to show in the video, but there is a small closet in the entryway that houses a stackable washer and dryer. Originally my kitchen was white! But I recently changed it to the farrow and ball Green Smoke and I'm so in LOVE. Yes, the color in my bedroom is a color I've used so many times on houses I've built. It has so much depth to it. The Saltillo tile is one of my favorites. It's handmade and you can see little paw prints of animals in the tile! It's just the coolest. If I did not live with my son, I would totally go with just one bathroom for sure! Storage is king! And thank you again for not only taking the time to watch my video but also to leave such a nice comment. I truly do appreciate it! ♥
I love these two houses, but your kitchen is the best, I love the ceiling height cabinets, I don't care for the "cubby holes" in the second house kitchen, I could use a counter top burner and just use a toaster oven.....I love the entrance of these homes, I have wondered just where folks would put their shoes and coats and things, I guess because it is in a hurricane area you are up on stilts, that means you can have a covered underneath living space, at least that's what I would do if I lived there....love this floor plan the best.
Hi! Thank you so much for such thoughtful comment! An entryway is such a luxury and I can't imagine not having one! For my personal home, I use the underneath like a garage. I have a lot tools and building materials that I keep under there. For the second home, the underneath is setup as a hangout space complete with a cowboy pool :) Thank you again for not only taking the time to watch my video but also to leave such a nice comment!♥
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate your positive comment and for taking the time to not only watch my video but also commenting! It means so much to me as a small/new creator 🥰
Being an artist, I love how every wall of your home has all these amazing works of art. I liked your kitchen with shelving more than the 2nd home, but I liked the clean cut feel of the 2nd home. Would love to know the dimensions of your floor plan. Well done.
♥♥♥♥ Artists have my heart! I love living with art from local artists. I love that you appreciate the art! Thank you so much! And I will see if I can edit my video to add dimensions. Thank you again for not only taking the time to watch my video but also to comment, it means so much to a small/new creator ❤
Like first house better as I like color. Maybe not so dark in first bedroom. I like the kitchen but like the gate leg table and vintage appliances of second house.
Hi! Thank you! I didn't show it well....but I have the same exact gate leg table in my home :) And yes, the vintage appliances are stunning and add so much to the kitchen. One thing I would probably do differently in my kitchen is to put in a smaller fridge. I just don't need such a large refrigerator. Thank you for watching and leaving such a thoughtful comment! ♥
I absolutely love the floor plan. I am currently trying to figure out if tiny home living is for me and I think I can do it with this floor plan. My husband likes it also. Our very first house was 800 sqft 2/1 but this 600 sqft home seems much bigger. I am going to keep you in mind when we make a decision.
Hi! Thank you! Yes, I have loved this floor plan since I first designed it years ago! I've actually built it 5 times total now :) Each house is different, but same floor plan. I am planning to put up more videos of the other ones I built :) Thank you for not only watching the video but also leaving such a kind comment! Please keep a look out for the next videos!♥
Hi! I actually do have a washer/dryer. I just failed to show it in the video. Both houses have them in the closet in the entryway. They are full size stackable washer/dryers. Yes, neither house is "open concept" but that is because I just prefer more distinct rooms...even in a tiny house :) Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment! I really do appreciate it. And totally respect and love hearing people's unique opinions. It's why I started this channel ♥
Hi! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment! Yes, that house is so calming and serene. I love both for different reasons ♥ Thank you again for watching and commenting! It really does mean a lot to a new/small content creator :)
Nice! Yes! One of the bathrooms would make a great additional storage space! And thank you so much for your kind words and for commenting on my video! It means so much to me as a new/small creator 🥰
2nd one is so much nicer, just needs cabinets in the kitchen. Cleaner, less cluttered and classy looking. And since they sit up so high, there definitely needs to be storage space underneath them both. That is just wasted space.
Hi! Thank you so much for watching my video and taking the time to comment! I did not show it in the video, but there is definitely storage under the first house! Also, the area under the second house has a cowboy pool, bar and seating area :) Since it's an airbnb, we made the downstairs a hang out space perfect for island living :)
Thank you so much! The first home was built in Houston almost 4 years ago....the cost (minus builder fees) came in around $130k. The second one was built in Galveston just recently and had to meet windstorm. That cost came in just under $200k. (minus builder fees) Thanks again for watching my video and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it! I'm also going to link a video I just made about costs so far on a project I'm building on the island. ua-cam.com/video/cBZ0XD1QVbo/v-deo.html
Hi! Definitely agree about the kitchen! It was designed as an airbnb so more emphasis was put on the design and aesthetics than practicality of everyday use :) Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving a comment. I really do appreciate it!
I think I like the second one because it feels less busy and peaceful. After a while I think the busier the rooms are, they start adding stress to some people. I like the choice of furniture and color palette. Do you know where that gold sofa is from? Thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment. I agree! The second one is so peaceful and zen. A great respite from a chaotic world 🥰 The gold sofa actually came from Wayfair. I not only build the houses, but I choose everything down to the furniture and pics on the wall! And thanks again for not only taking the time to watch my video but also to leave such a thoughtful comment! ❤
Both are very beautiful and i think my choice would be a mix of the 2. Curious what the square footage is? Im designing my own just for me and my dog and it will be around 160 sqft.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! The sq footage is 600. It's a 2/2. I'd love to downsize even further to around 200 sq ft once my son moves out :) Good luck with your tiny home!
Hi! Thank you! As you can see....I just LOVE color :) I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment. It really does mean a lot♥
Question, if one wanted to build a house using your floor plan, but wanted to expand to 700 square feet, (25 per side) and add a climate controlled storage room underneath, (using 1 or 2 mini splits), what would the cost be, approximately? Oh, I should add that I wouldn’t have a shower in the onsuite, just the one in the guest bathroom. Instead I would have a bigger vanity with a trough-like porcelain sink and an incinerator commode. I would have a shower similar to the second house, I like that enclosed glass door-less spillage on the floor, and a flushing toilet with sink like yours with room for a litterbox. I wouldn’t necessarily need hard wood floors if I could have a good quality laminate flooring and then tile in the foyer, kitchen and both bathrooms. I would also want to expand the front and back decks a smidge so that I could sit out there and drink coffee in the morning and beer/wine at night. 😉. Need to see if this is even an option for me when I retire. I live in Virginia and would probably be moving to the Richmond area.
HI! Thanks so much for watching my video and leaving a comment! To answer your question....tough to say! Would likely hit around... $225k ish....but that's a VERY rough estimate! And that does not include builder fees :)
@@PlumBuilds when you say rough estimate, could it be higher or lower? And what if I kept it at 600 square feet with only 1/2 the bottom as climate controlled storage? I also wouldn’t necessarily need all the bells and whistles design wise, maybe a poured/polished concrete or butcher block countertops in the kitchen. I could even do off site storage to keep costs down. Sorry to pepper you with all these questions but this whole idea is very exciting to me. 😊
@@McFlys64 There are definitely ways to keep costs down! And still maintain a great design! I actually love taking modest materials and elevating them with good design! For example, in the second house, the flooring was VERY affordable. I was able to find that solid white oak flooring for less than $2/sq ft! And butcher block countertops are timeless, beautiful and affordable! If you eliminated a bathroom and just did 1, you'd save quite a bit! I rehabbed a million dollar home, and by the time we got to the end of the project, we were running out of money.....I was able to elevate simple (very inexpensive) tile in a way that looked like a million bucks but didn't break the bank. To be honest, I'm much more concerned about spending the money on the structure....getting that 100% right...because I have to feel confident that any home I build will stand the test of time. Oh and I've also put marble in homes that is only $700 for a huge slab! And this marble is gorgeous! It just takes a little extra time to find these bargains :) Thank you so much for the questions! I hope that I helped a little with your questions :)
The first house is missing a dining area. There is room for a table in the living room. I'm puzzled by this ommission. Do you eat off of TV trays? Do you eat on the porch? TV trays are okay occasionally, but are rather cramped, so they aren't practical for daily usage. Outdoor dining isn't practical in bad weather or when the bugs are out in force.
Hi! There is actually a dining area in the living room :) The first house has the same gate leg table as the second home. I just left it down for the tour of the first home. We mostly eat at the table :) Thank you so much for not only taking the time to watch my video but also to leave a comment. It really means a lot to a small/new creator!♥
Hi! These houses are both 600 sq feet :) yes! I have squeezed every inch out each home! hahaha. Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving a comment 🥰
Hi! Thank you so much for the feedback! Yes, I am actually missing all my books so much! I decided to donate my collection before I moved into the house due to space concerns and so I used only e readers. BIG MISTAKE! I miss my books! 😭
@@PlumBuilds I understand :-) You can start a new collection. :-) I like your entrance and your kitchen better, but the lighter colors from the second house would work better for me. Both are lovely though, congrats!
Hi! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment. I will definitely keep this in my mind for my next videos! Thanks again :)
HI! Funny thing is....I've been working on a video of me cooking in my "tiny kitchen" :) I cook daily....if I'm home all day, I cook 3x for me and my son. I have hosted so many parties in my home and I always cook for these parties. I absolutely LOVE cooking in my kitchen 🥰 Thank you so much for taking the time to not only watch my video but also to comment. It honestly means the world to me as a small/new creator. I hope you check back to watch my "cook with me in my tiny kitchen" video when I finally upload it! PS...I do agree that the tiny kitchen in the second house is not very practical haha. It was done more for aesthetics as the home will be used as an airbnb and not a full time residence :)
I've lived in apartments most of my life and you get used to working with what you have. I have had very little counter space and it works fine but it also might depend if you have a large family but then you most likely won't be in a tiny home.
@@Dinainme agreed! It's all about what works for your individual lifestyle. I don't believe tiny or small is for everyone , but for some it can be such a lovely option with many benefits!
Hahaha 😆 You are not wrong! I am definitely a maximalist! Plus I live in the house with my son and at age 50, I have acquired a lot of art. My passion is art! I also have many hobbies and currently no studio....so it's all in my house :) Thank you so much for taking the time to not only watch my video but also to leave a comment!
Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video and give your feedback! It seems there are multiple definitions of "tiny home" out there. But I completely respect your opinion. Thanks again for your comment.
@@PlumBuilds I thought tiny homes were anything under 400 sf? That can be a bit tight so your 600 sf units seem like a great option and maybe eligible for a traditional mortgage? I know that is an issue with the tiny homes under 400 sf built on a trailer. In my mind, small with just what you need is ideal so doesn't matter what you call it. I've been working to downsize to eventually move in to something like this so thanks for showing options. I didn't think about going just a smidge bigger.
@@Dinainme Hi! It's funny....if you google tiny it has such a range! Some say anything under 400 sq feet....others say anything under 1000 sq feet! Anyway! I think the biggest issue with getting mortgages on these homes Is not necessarily about the size (although there are minimum room requirements etc) but more about the foundation. I am currently building two tiny homes on one lot in Galveston TX (I'm actually vlogging the entire process and this is why I started a UA-cam channel) and one of the homes is under 400 sq ft but it's on a foundation and meets all the city requirements. I built and sold a tiny home on the island that was also under 400 sq feet back in 2021 (it went kinda viral and ended up in a publication in Paris France!!! crazy! lol) and it met all the city requirements and did have a mortgage on it. I actually will be uploading another home tour video of that home soon! Thank you so much for your comment! ♥
Robert Lipka, Architect
ps, nearly forgot to mention the videos are well done too!
I rarely comment but this is a BIG exception! Your home design/decorating style knocked my 73 years old socks off…very well done and congratulations.🎉
HI!!!! I'm so honored that you DID leave a comment! And such a kind one! Thank you so much for not only taking the time to watch my video all the way through but also to leave such an amazing comment❤ It really means so much!
You have 73 year old SOCKS? 😳
For me it would be a mix of both decorating styles because I like them both!
Great job on everything, right down to the soothing music as you narrate. Thanks for sharing!
Hi! Thank you so much for watching my video and taking the time to leave such a kind comment! It really means the world to me 🥰
@@PlumBuilds My pleasure. Your voice is also soothing, so keep up the great work & keep being the blessing that you are.
@@mcpheejesus5945 ♥♥♥
Both homes are sooo lovely but I prefer house #2…the floor tiling..the light and airy feeling, the aqua refrigerator, etc.
Yes! That floor tiling is 🔥 I was so excited when I found it! And those retro fridges are amazing. Thank you so much.for not only taking the time to watch my video but also to leave such a nice comment ♥
This is a great updated tour to your place. I love the layout and designs in both homes.
Hi! Thank you!!! I really took all the suggestions to heart! Thank you for giving me another chance and taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment ♥
I like the amenities of the first home with the color scheme of the second.
Love it!
Thank you!!!! I really appreciate your feedback! I'm trying to get better with each video :)
I like your house best also because you built in more storage space going to the ceiling.
@@megb9700 Thank you!!!! Storage in these little houses is sooooooo important for everyday life!
I like them all, especially the colorful one
Thank you!!! The colorful one is the one I live in, so I would agree with you! Thank you for leaving a comment and watching my video! It really means so much ♥
For me it would be the Galveston house. Love, love, love it. ❤
Isn't it special!?!? I love that home too ♥ Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment! I truly do appreciate it!
Love both houses.
Hi! Thank you! Me too! I love them both for different reasons. It would be great to own both....and when I needed a break from one, I could to the other :) Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving a comment! I truly appreciate it!♥
You painted since the last time I was there. I love that green smoke
Yes! I painted the living room (same color as Omar originally) and my kitchen (same as Omar)
Great design. I prefer tours of lived in houses, they always seem more welcoming.
Thank you! There is a definite difference between the first (that is lived in) and the second, which is brand new. I really appreciate your comment and kind words!
Both are gorgeous houses. For me will work the second one.
Other than in the front bedroom, I am not seeing closet or clothes storage space. The front bathroom has no space for any toiletries.
Love the floor plan
Hi! Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving a comment :) I also LOVE this floor plan so much!♥
I love how the first house looked so much older due to both the trim & cabinet choices, along with the paint colors.
They’re both amazing, but I love the first so much❤
Me too :) Thank you!
Not crazy of both kitchens, design of properties great inside colours and fixtures nna don't like.
@@rowenah3723 Hi Thank you so much for taking the time to not only watch my video but also to leave a comment! I really appreciate it!
I liked the floor plan of the but liked the color scheme and tiles on the 2nd house better. I wasn't a fan of all the different colors in the 1st one but I understand that color choices are very personal. Thanks for the tour and congrats on the build.
Hi! Thank you so much! I love your comment and I'm so appreciative of you taking the time to watch my videos and leave a comment. ❤
Both are really nice, but I love all the cabinets in the 1st, I can see me in the 2nd but would definitely be painting some of the walls because I love color like you.. great job…😊

I love both for different reasons, the first is cozy and feels like home..love anything Farrow & Ball too; the second is calming and refreshing..a great place to totally relax
And I love the idea of connecting the porches...

Like your house the best also. Love the dark colors very beautiful! The second video is much more pleasing.
What you do even when it’s all white is so gorgeous .
Thank you!!!! ♥ It's all about choosing the right white and textures :)
This video is much better than the first one you did of your tiny house. Thank you. ♥
As for which home I prefer...I'm leaning more towards yours because of the colour and the fact that you don't have a stove.
@@PlumBuilds Yeah, I totally get that about sharing a bathroom. I am on my own, so only need one. Good luck with your future builds. ♥
Oh and the art in my house is EVERYTHING! I love artists :) Thank you for noticing the art 🥰
I love them both!!! Great job Christine
@@ycannon100 thank you so much!!! And thank you for commenting on my video🥰 It means so much!♥️
What is the total cost after electricity hookup and water , abs and the installation.
I love it. I like the lighter model best, the model with white and natural tones. It seems much bigger than the dark model but that’s just my opinion. Love the floor plans though!

Your son's room has that huge closet that means less furniture in his room. It's lovely.
Probably feed on ordered pizzas and McDonald’s !
hahahaha You are right....if this was your full time home, cooking in that kitchen would be challenging!

Being an artist, I love how every wall of your home has all these amazing works of art.

I love the third.
I would want a washer and dryer, also stove and a small dishwasher. We also prefer an open concept home.
For me, light and airy, so the second home.

#2
Hi! Thank you so much for not only taking the time to watch the video but also to comment! #2 is so zen and calm. I can see why you prefer it :)
@@PlumBuilds That’s cool!
Great layout! I love that they are single level. Can you give an estimate on cost to build?
Thank you so much! The first home was built in Houston almost 4 years ago....the cost (minus builder fees) came in around $130k. The second one was built in Galveston just recently and had to meet windstorm. That cost came in just under $200k. (minus builder fees) Thanks again for watching my video and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it! I'm also going to link a video I just made about costs so far on a project I'm building on the island. ua-cam.com/video/cBZ0XD1QVbo/v-deo.html
I like the light and airy home better but the kitchen could be more practical, like yours
Mr. Tiny make some homes with a entry way please. Thank you
Entryways are EVERYTHING! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment! I really do appreciate it!🥰
Both are very beautiful and i think my choice would be a mix of the 2.
Prefer the second house. for its simplicity. Light, airy with natural wood and ceramic accents.
Both houses seem larger than a "tiny".
Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment! I agree about the second home! ♥
At last a house with some color.
Hi!
How many square feet are these homes? Seems like a hard-working small footprint!
Hi! These houses are both 600 sq feet :) yes! I have squeezed every inch out each home! hahaha. Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving a comment 🥰
Too dark. I like a little cheer in my house. Private yet warm light.
Hi! Thank you so much for commenting! I know my style is definitely not for everyone hahaha 😆
Both are nice but this is not a tiny house. It's normal size for two people. What's missing in both is a decent size bookshelf.
@@agatakjoy Thank you!!! ♥
Please either turn the music way down, or not play it while talking.
Hi! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment. I will definitely keep this in my mind for my next videos! Thanks again :)
i couldn't living in either house!! i love tiny houses but these kitchens are not practical
@@PlumBuildslooking forward to your cooking video!
@@adeleburrows9013 Thank you! I hope to upload one this weekend :)
Toooooo much stuff in such a tiny space. Declutter and remember less is more. Every inch is covered with stuff!!!!
600 sf isn't tiny. Your privilege is showing.
Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video and give your feedback! It seems there are multiple definitions of "tiny home" out there. But I completely respect your opinion. Thanks again for your comment.
I missed the dimensions - what is the length/width of footprint and the dimension of the living room?
