Just found your channel David. Thanks for your contribution to the hobby....many of your videos have already given me plenty of tips and tricks. Nice sounding 75 four stroke. I recently just bought a used Magnum 70 four stroke. I can get about 10200 at the top end but can't for the life of me get it to idle under 3500 without cutting out on me. I'll keep tinkering with it. For now it resides on the front of my Hangar 9 .40 size J3 Cub. Love this engine....even more so when I can get it to idle right.

Oftentimes that could be due to the low speed needle being set incorrectly.

So I have heard. I have reset that darn needle multiple times without luck. The carb sits a bit below the fuel tank so I may just be loading it up and it dies out rich.
I turned the carb around 180* yesterday and brought it a bit closer to center line of the fuel tank. Hope this works. I have yet to try an actual four stroke plug on it.

Got one from friend, was needed to adjust valves but still does not get to pick rpm.... Carburetor spiting fuel during operation.....

Thanks for the videos on these engines. Good audio good camera and some runs and takedowns/ disassemblies. I know you're selling some but still these are great videos from someone who doesn't ramble on forever over nothing.

It isnt even broke in yet. What would you put it on? I find 70 size four strokes are hard to find just the right airframe for. I had my 70 Surpass in my 46 size Sukhoi and it was a good fit but it crashed due to a switch failure and I have not replaced the plane yet. If you are worried at all about the bushings on the cam just apply a very light smear of STP to them, same for the cam and followers.

Oh I'm not concerned about the bushing instead of bearings on the timing gear. I just thought it important to point out. Honestly I have so many engines and most will probably never see flight time. I don't fly that much anymore. That is why I sell so many of the engines I have had just so someone will put them in the air. I am trying to keep just the engines I really want now.

I hear ya. I have airframes that have seen no less than 5 different engines just to get some air time on them. I install them till they are good and broke in and I have a good idea how they perform then swap them out, I enjoy the process. I was going to fly today but today is cold and windy, yesterday was excellent but I didnt go. I have very few planes that I install an engine on and leave be, my SIG S,Extra is one, it has an amazing YS45 on it.
