The Other Boleyn Girl Trailer - Directed by Justin Chadwick and starring Serena Tona-Wade, Ana Torrent, Eddie Redmayne, Tom Cox, Michael Smiley. A sumptuous and sensual tale of intrigue, romance and betrayal set against the backdrop of a defining moment in European history: two beautiful sisters, Anne and Mary Boleyn, driven by their family's blind ambition, compete for the love of the handsome and passionate King Henry VIII.
Universal - 2008
Anne: “We’re sisters..and therefore born to be rivals.”
Mary: “She’s my sister, and therefore one half of me.
So Ironic and Sad.
Anne infuriated tf out of me and it was so satisfying to watch her suffer towards the end 😂😂
@@nene1964 I hope you know this movie is incredibily historicaly inaccurate, Anne was nothing like depicted in the movie or book
@@nene1964 well.. to be fair it's understandable! after all he was her "boyfriend" FIRST..
@@nene1964 same i thought i was the only one who thought so
My geography teacher was an extra in this!
HarleyDoodles really
Hermione Granger how...??
good for him/her ✊
No way!!! That's so cool!
Awesome lol
Literally Scarlett being an awesome actress in every movie she’s ever been in
Literally?
This movie is so underrated one of the best movies I’ve watched in my life
Lol i dunno bout all that … I means it’s good but
One of worst,if You ask ME. Historical NONSENS !!! I THINK,that it was the father of THREE Boleyn Children, who handed to the King ALL of Them, whole Family,One after Another... !!! First his own Wife, then, many Years later Mary, and then Anne...AND Their Brother as Cherry on the Top. And (finaly) only Mary ALIVET this HIS (the FATHER'S) too big Ambition... !!!
Damn, golddiggers back then were classy.
You mean their father's. The women had very little choice.
Hahaha great one!
🤣🤣 Anne Boleyn was anything but classy. She did have many great qualities but she had a brutally vicious side which played by the same rules that cost her her own head.
Sure.. Damn classy
She was manipulative, seductive and cunning.
One sister followed the rules...and kept her head.
Okay so , Natasha Romanoff and Jane Foster fight for Hulk . And Natasha is married with Doctor Strange .
Don't forget Spiderman was in this film too
@@thelastking5072 and also Theon Greyjoy (Game Of Thrones), The Governor (The Walking Dead) and Newt Scamander (Fantastic Beasts)
@@NobleBoss Those aren't superheroes.
I laughed way too hard at this
Where do you start? To begin with, Mary was the elder not the younger sister. None of her children were the king's. If he was happy enough to acknowledge one bastard son, why not the others, if they were his? Mary never returned to court to defend her sister. Once she was banished, she never returned, never saw Anne again. She died in obscurity with her husband around middle-age.
Eric Bana way too handsome for the part of Henry VIII who was a disgusting, capricious, religious nut job.I disliked the film intensely.
Although this movie looks great on it's own..... It's really changing some crucial details of what is already a fascinating story of the rise and fall of Ann and this family.
@@rohansrider Henry VIII is said to have been tall, athletic and very handsome in his early life. He was still in his 30's when he met Anne Boleyn and only became fat after he injured his leg in 1536. It's absolutely idiotic to be so judgmental on him. This was centuries ago. He was the king. We will never fully understand the context he lived in, the ideas that were planted into his head from his early childhood on and the values that shaped his character. He was a complex human being, no cartoon figure. Just read his letters or listen to his compositions. No beast there. The problem I have with Eric Bana is his hair and eye colour and the fact that the screenplay (like the book) make Henry appear incredibly boring and one-dimensional.
@@stefanie3831 You are free to have your opinion. He may well have been adept at courtly love and composing ditties for his lady friends but he murdered his wife; sent his best-friend St Thomas More to the block and also his finest statesman Thomas Cromwell was sentenced to death for heresy He had his last wife Katherine Parr also condemned to die with the sly connivance of the odious Bishop Gardiner.; and she only saved herself by her wits. He was easily influenced and he was not a good person to have as a friend, far too fickle. I see him as a monster. My sources range from Hilary Mantel, Alison Wier. Dr. David Starkey and several others.
On a lighter note, "Anne of the Thousand Days" has an excellent portrayal of Henry - Richard Burton. Not at all 2 dimensional or plain. When he hits Genieve Bujold across the face because she says as Anne, that all the babies born to her will be bastards, that flash of real temper was palpable- my favorite on the big screen,
Actually It was an open 'secret' (ie: everyone at his court knew about it. But no one said anything publicly. Because it would make the King 'look bad' & that would piss him off.)
That two of Mary's children (a boy & a girl) were known as being Fathered by the King. Though being illegitimate (in as far as he wasn't married to their Mother at the time of their births) they weren't allowed to be in the line of succession.
& both Mary I & Elizabeth I even acknowledged this. & called them (in private) the Kings (Henry VIII) illegitimate children. Elizabeth even gave them both minor positions at her court. Publicly though she didn't say anything because it would have been a scandal. & it could have also been a threat to her being Queen.
Elizabeth herself had once been declared illegitimate, & had been restored to the line of succession. But if there was a rival male claimant to the throne. He might have been made instead despite being considered to be 'illegitimate.'
I think the main reason why they showed most of the plot is because it is already history. Of course not 100% accurate, Hollywood movie and all. Several should know of this story of the Boleyn Girls with King Henry. I am somewhat glad that there was no point in revealing bit by bit instead of showing most of it since it is history. Anyway, my thoughts on the trailer. I love their choice in the music for this trailer, some of my favorites. Thanks for uploading. ❤️❤️❤️
The moral of this story is Eddie Redmayne in his freckled, chivalrous glory is always endgame.
One of the very best movies ever with a amazing cast
Am I the only one who would say that I cried after seeing this movie? I didn't see the trailer at first. I just saw this in Netflix and watched it.
you're not alone
Thanks for revealing almost e v e r y major event from the plot in the "trailer". Im just dying to see this movie now, but with longer dialogs I suppose..
I KNOW !!!!! i mean why . Now i shouldnt watch it , because it told it all.
Everyone knows what happened to the Boleyn girls
Obviously you're not from west? Everyone knows the story. It's in the book
It's about Henry 'Tudor' VIII and Anne Boleyn (the mother of Queen Elizabeth I) ...it's history, hardly a secret plot... everyone that studies history knows this...
@@bellablow4287 actually this film isnt accurate whatsoever sooo
I watched the trailer because of "Eddie Redmayne" on the title. Where is he?!
SAME lmao
I think he either played Mary’s first husband or her second. Either way, his role is small.
“One sister followed the rules”...and kept her head.
I've watched this movie and still don't know where he is 😂😂
he is mary's second husband
This movie is amazing!! The acting is so good and the cast is so good
They told the entire story in one trailer waaaahhhhh but Scarlett's accent was really good in this movie, i think
This is a history, well everybody knows it
I thought so too, surprised me, she was very convincing. Portman was great too but Scarlett should get more recognition for her acting in this. I'm not often blown away by performances in movies, but hers had me out loud reacting. I'm thoroughly moved by her character and performance.
"We're sisters and therefore born to be rivals." What a dare/ challenge!
Portman was great - the book itself has many historical inaccuracies, unfortunately. Great book, great film... just inaccurate. Well, not necessarily inaccurate... let's just say a LOT of artistic license :)
That's why it's a historical fiction.
I totally agree... But they want to embelish certain facts. A very good film was an old one, "Ann of A Thousands Days" .
@@ΜικαέλαΤουλιατου This film erroneously depicted Anne Boleyn almost as a villain.
_Anne of the Thousand Days_ indeed offered a more accurate portrayal of Anne's character,
though it also took some degree of artistic license.
Nice to see a fellow Greek commenting on historical films. Take care!
@@AntonesPap Thanks for your comment ! I 've studied English Literature (Athens University) but the quality of the studies concerning History was really poor. I tried to study further, and I don't know why, but I am fascinated by the Yorks and the Tudors. Do you have any recommendation on relevant research/books ?
@@ΜικαέλαΤουλιατου My mother also studied English Literature at Athens University.
_The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn_ by the late Professor Eric Ives
is widely considered to be the best biography of Anne Boleyn
and provides a great insight into the early Tudor period.
Philippa Gregory's _The Other Boleyn Girl_ , on which this film was based,
is cheap sensationalism that greatly distorts history, so I wouldn't recommend it.
A great motion picture, one of my faves.
A masterpiece.
This movie has the best ensemble cast ever: Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbitch, Eddie Redmayne, Eric BANAna, Theon Greyjoy and so on damnn
did u just wrote CumberBITCH
Eric Banana lol

All the British dudes- lame
Epic fail
(Ooh) I wanna dance and sing~
Politics, not my thing
I've been thinking about writing a book that features a Boleyn relative that is actually descended from a brother of Thomas Boleyn where the Boleyn family name has survived through a male bloodline.
I think Eric Bana did a fantastic job as Henry VIII. He was calm, eloquent, and not some rude fat guy like the other versions I saw.
I didn’t like this movie when I seen it at 18 in theaters but now that I see the trailer again in my 30’s, it looks good 😮🤔
The costumes are outstanding
This is a beautifully made film absolute classic. It grabs you from the beginning to end, the British were brutal.
THE FACT THAT THIS REALLY HAPPENED BAFFLES ME TO THIS DAY
Yes, when he was young he was one of the handsomest men acording to their standars
What is a standar, I`m guessing a sycophant?
Black Widow, Jane Foster, Dr. Strange, 2003 Hulk and Newt Scamander!?!?! Holy!!
One minute she's Queen Amidala and the next thing you know she's Queen Anne Boleyn!
I like the cast of this movie, perfect : frightening king, all actors are very good in this movie.
I loved this movie when i was younger it was my favorite i found it on netflix and i was like yay!
WELL, pretty good movie and the costumes also were amazing and really stood out. It really grabbed you and kept you in their world for two hours.I used my boxxy software with great dubbing!
Yeah, the movie is actually better than this trailer
Just watched this movie for the 4th time and its still good.
Whoever made this trailer could sell Rome to the Romans. Epic.
Some of those fabrics and colors look quite modern...
What Marvel fans see : The Amazing Spider-Man, Black Widow, Jane Foster, Dr Strange and Hulk 😆
They need to remake the movie it will look even more stunning with todays technology
Very good movie with 3 important actors. To unknown, to underrated.
so weird to here queen amidala say ''you're my only hope'' at 2:07 like mother like daughter lol
Eddie Redmanye not even mentioned in the trailer of his own movie.
Andrew Garfield, Benedict Cucumberbatch and Alfie Allen aldo
When people were criticizing Natalie Portman's British accent in V for Vendetta, she proved them wrong in The Other Boleyn Girl.
I loved it even though I didnt like the historical innacuracies, the movie is GREAT
I don't actually know what was the real story. Could you explain which parts were inaccurate in the movie? And what actually happened??
The movie is a masterpiece
Damn Eric Bana is so fine. How did he not become a bigger star? I guess because he didn't want it.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST EDIT OF A TRAILR
One of my faaaavourites. How good is Eric Bana at playing an historical King?!
I never knew this movie existed. Stella cast.
Bruce Banner, Jane Porter, Black Widow, Dr Strange and Newt Scamander in the same movie.
And Spiderman from Amazing Spiderman 2
Where is Eddie Redmayne ?!!
he is in the movie, but not in the trailer. he is william stafford😁😁
How do I find music?
wow this are amazing actings from Scarlett and Natalie
The most beautiful sight...are the fields in the beginning....
Sounds weird but looking at this really looks like one of the biggest crossover of stars from different franchisees or series even though some of em didn't had large roles
MCU:Scarlett Johansson,Benedict Cumberbatch and Natalie Portman
Sony's Spider-Man:Andrew Garfield
Fantastic Beasts:Eddie Redmayne
The Walking Dead:David Morrissey
The OG Hulk:Eric Bana
You forget that their father is the lead Game designer in Ready Player One lol
And Alfie Allen is in this too! The guy that plays Theon Greyjoy in Game of Thrones
you've got to be kidding me. i felt sorry for her in the book as well.
Where's Eddie?!?!?
If you knew the truth.. If you really knew the truth, you'd never want to be her executioner
So random to title this Eddie Redmayne movie. He is in the film, but his role is very small. It would make sense if he was the only actor in the film to make a name for himself, but with Natalie and Scarlett in the leading roles why wouldn’t you label it with one of them!?
This is a great movie! Loves it!
You first knew ScarJo from the MCU, I first knew her from this. We are not the same.
I first knew her from Home Alone 3. We are not the same.
I have an Anne Boleyn, and yes, I became half of her.
saw it loved it love her books.....
Jane Foster vs Black Widow for Hulk's affections... and where is Newt Scamander?
Still tryna find Eddie Redmayne in this
Well, Anne wasn't spared
1:36 song name? My fav movie
Masterpiece
One of my all time favourite movies
Im just obsessed with Scarlets eyebrows and color palette in this movie. Never seen her so stunning
amazing movie, amazing actresses and actors!
Black widow, jane foster and hulk together
I loved this movie so much
The title is the Other Boleyn girl yet the movie is all about Anne!
So black widow and the hulk were a thing even before the avengers
jane foster and black widow fight over hulk
Grief is the price we pay for love, especially in the case of mary and henry
Anne would've been the "other Boleyn girl". Mary was King Henry's mistress long before Anne caught his eye.
Bruce Banner, Black Widow, Jane Foster...
And Dr. Strange
And Padme
Who else is here because of Six?
Meeee
one of my all time favorites...classic.
The acting all good and great movie and good story
Love you eddie😘
the only reason I love this movie is for the 10minutes of screen time Benedict Cumberbatch has in this periodtt
This looks so good I might watch it 😌
They told the entire story!
Well the trailer show all
I just know that Andrew Garfield is in this movie as well XD
To be mistress!? I’ll be like “I don’t wanna be nobodies mistress”
Man that’s sad being a mistress was a good thing....I wouldn’t have been able to that.
if you didn’t you and your family would be banished or jailed
Stef with an F like I said I wouldn’t. 🙄
Stef with an F You know, it just amazes me how being a mistress was considered a high position in some cases but also a low position in others. People would, talk about you, scoff at you...on other the hand, it just wouldn’t be right to me to sleep with another woman’s king🤴🏽aka husband. (And I am sure morals existed back than) 😊and I would have been one with those morals.
@@theeelevatedsongstress no you wouldn't lol if the king want you he gets you, if you be happy with it or not, thats how it works back then. It was even worse if you are a peasant, so you are very lucky if the king wants you.
Eddie redmayne indeed
Its good to be the king.
"Fand One" Love that part
Just watched this movie . Henry VIII was so characterless, cruel, bad human being. After watching this movie I just hate him.
My sentiments exactly!
and history makes you loath Henry...
For a good reason wtf
About my 14 GreatGrandmother and her sister
what is the song in the middle called? in 1:36
The trailer music is doing a lot
0:07 - Close you eyes and just imagine he could be have talking about Camila Parker Bowles back in 80's not Mary Boleyn from the 1500's
I really liked this movie but now that I know more of Anne Boleyn, I hate it because this is soooo incorrect.
What do u mean?
Close to the end of the book this was based on, he was. They completely forewent that when they adapted it into a movie though. I'm not sure about the actual King Henry; you'd have to look that up.
I still can't get over how not only how inaccurate this movie is , but how the dress and french hood is completely not how they were . I know it's based off a book and not the actual real story but man
I watch this in 2010 going 2011
So memorable and cliche
