朝の水 Morning Water - Shakuhachi Meditation

Thank you to the “Shakuhachi Makers Hanko - SHARING” Facebook group for helping me identify this Shougetsu 松月 kinko style Shakuhachi. The Hanko roughly translates to “moon seen through the pines”. Despite being in fantastic condition, this root-end bamboo flute is roughly 100 years old - made during the first half of the 20th century, in the Kansai region of Japan. I still can’t believe I found this beautiful instrument for just 200 pesos (about $4 USD), for sale on a sidewalk surplus store!
