The large black assembly box you can see him trying to get out around 3:04 actually splits into two pieces... a bottom and upper half. The small screws you see about halfway up the entire blower assembly are the ones you can take out to split it into two and that makes it a lot easier to get out. One screw is hidden very well behind the assembly though. If you do this you won't have to hammer on it at 3:38. What you can do to help you with this though is to take out the actual fan. It is held on by only 3 screws on the bottom of the black box he takes out and you can see it for a split second at 4:27 inside of the entire assembly. That's how I got it out anyway. Everything is the same.

Thanks for the video! It saved me a lot of money having a shop take apart the entire dash.

Joshi, you are a genius!!! This method works on a 2016 Maxima too. All the other videos I’ve seen tell you to tear out the whole dash removing every last piece to remove the evaporator box. Then they tell you to remove the coil from the evaporator box. Thanks to your video I did not do that. Your way of doing this is FAR better! Thank you!!!

My cars a/c works fine..I need to get the cover off the evaporator so I can clean all the jusnk out with my small vacuum cleaner..it has that filthy smeel when I use it and the overall venting system...I have tried getting rid of the smeel several other ways and it just doesn't last...this video looks like the one I need...you did a great job here.

Will this work on 2018 2.5 vs SSL etc Altima. The video on the 2013 vs what it looks on the 2018 is hard to tell. The 2018 looks more like the 2019-and beyond.

I confirm this will work on a 2018 Altima 2.5L Tell the dealership and whoever else they are wrong if they say you have you to remove the dashboard. Thanks for this video. Very unfortunate we can’t have honest people charge appropriately to fix an issue

Figured I would update. Yes this procedure will work. You do not have to pull the dash. Takes 2 hours max
