  • What are the key qualities of a skilled psychedelic facilitator?
    In this video, Eric and Denise provide an in-depth exploration of 6 key qualities all facilitators should possess and embody when navigating the #psychedelic space. This is an incredibly important topic, particularly as #Psilocybin and other plant medicines gain broader recognition for their powerful healing properties.
    It is a tremendous responsibility to shepherd others through their psilocybin experiences, when they are often in a highly sensitive and vulnerable state. Psilocybin facilitation thus demands extremely high levels of competence, integrity, and self-awareness.
    The key qualities, or competencies of a facilitator include:
    1) Calm, grounded, empathetic presence (1:35)
    2) Trustworthiness (5:04)
    3) Knowledge of physical and psychological effects of psilocybin (8:45)
    4) Spiritual and metaphysical intelligence (11:02)
    5) Self-awareness and ethical integrity (14:04)
    6) Knowledge of complementary techniques (19:58)
    Thanks for watching, and mush love from the whole #MycoMeditations family!

    I think this path is already the beginning of the future of psychoterapy!

      It most definitely is! Within a decade I feel like it will be hard to imagine many therapists/psychologists believing they don't need to learn about and experience psychoactive compounds.

    So grateful for this video. I didn't know about Psilocybe Cubensis until recently and was stunned to learn everything I have from the data coming out of Johns Hopkins (woop woop home team!!).
    This is CRIMINALLY under discussed. I know there's been an explosion of interest and information in the last few years or so, but this needs to be shouted from the rooftops. So my current path of Paramedic may be getting swept aside to focus more heavily on Psychology and facilitation. Now I still have a ways to go, lots of personal inner work to handle, but recently I had a profound, life-changing experience, where for the first time in my 15 years of learning and practicing eastern philosophy, a very mild strength of organic material allowed me to find Stillness for the first time ever. There is nowhere to go and nothing to do. Resting back, falling backward, resting AS awareness, everything and nothing. Words get in the way. Just be here, now.
    This all sounds lofty and bullshitty, but I promise you, whoever you are reading this, it's real. It's real and very beautiful. And very Still. And Silent. From that Stillness, I have found my anger and ego to be less of a driving force in my words, actions and behaviors, and I can simply be the space for others to heal. That's a gift I can not possibly describe the gravity of, and I am so grateful and astounded.
    Thank you for posting this MycoMeditations. I've found my dream job, and will be diving in head first, no pun intended :P

    Yes, some very key points that apply to therapeutic work of all kinds. Entrainment is a word that comes to mind, holding an image of the client in your mind, as whole, healed, and connected to the web of life in a perfect way. The importance of “Being” is summed up very well in Osho’s “Book of secrets vol. 4” in the chapter “How to Be”. I have also found much value in the practice of “The four agreements” as put forth by Don Miguel Ruiz, in his books, as this video points out, the need to be impeccable with the spoken word can not be understated. Thank you, keep up the good work!

    How do you guys feel about the Andrew Feldmar/R D Laing practice of tripping (usually with a lower dose) with their client?

    • @MycoMeditations
      @MycoMeditations  4 роки тому +5

      Usually one or two of our facilitators do actually dose at the same time as our guests, while others remain sober. We find that once a facilitator can find their optimal "working" dose, where they know they won't be taken into their own experience but remain completely focused on all the guests, it greatly enhances their ability to sense and understand where a guest is in their experience and to provide very connected support.

    great video... thanks! what are your views on cannabis use surrounding psilocybin sessions? I have not found any advice regarding this online and would love to hear from you. in peace x

    • @MycoMeditations
      @MycoMeditations  4 роки тому

      We've occasionally done that for some guests who've had trouble "launching" with the mushrooms. Cannabis can help get the process started. With that being said, the person who would be supplementing the mushrooms with cannabis needs to be fully on board with that decision and well prepared, because that can change the experience drastically, very quickly.

    Do facilities dose? Is there a suggested or common dose for facilitating? Also, is there a common dose range for participants?

    Apparently plenty of psychotherapists who are working with mushroom have never ever tried any of the psychedelics. This is completely crazy really

    A psilocybin facilitater is a stupid idea.its a recipe for a bad trip. I had a bad trip just watching 1 minute of this nonsense.
