I am pretty confident that an Austrian tuning company (Superior Automotive) will be able to get it street legal per single car testing at the Austrian TUV in Vienna. But first I need to sell my Suzuki Swift Sport and make an upgrade to the Yaris. I hope this will happen better sooner than later.
That HKS exhaust looks to be the same exact size as the Toyota, but heavier, with so many places it is joined together. The exhausts even have the same exact shape... why would you buy one of these? HKS hasn't even mentioned anything about any extra power benefits.
well, it has a louder sound. So people would probably buy just for that. But this I assume is part of the 350 hp tuning development for the GR Yaris that they’ve announced recently. So I assume it surely has something to do with that, and result in increased performance. In the video, they said that it decreased backpressure by 20% which is good for a Turbo car like this. I’d say 5-15 hp increase.
@@devandrasimanjuntak1646 I agree, sound is kinda important for an exhaust, but you hope to get everything in one package. I didn't se the part about the increased perfomance, thanks.
You won't get a "massive power jump" without ditching the OPF(EU/UK cars) and one or both of the catalytic converters. It's not realistic to expect a decent power bump from a cat back system.
@@jbu89gb so basically a straight pipe all the way through would be the biggest power gain and with a car this size i couldn't imagine a custom exhaust being very expensive.
@@BigSalv yes indeed, for a turbo car a straight pipe is the best and yes would be cheaper than a pipe with cats, a resonator and a muffler. The trade off is noise, it would be obnoxiously ear damagingly loud.

Excellent job HKS! That exhaust note sounds fruity! Can't wait to see what's next from HKS for the Yaris.
Get it EU-legal & I'm happy!

what is weight and dyno difference compared to stock?
Nice video,
Are there any plans for getting parts like the exhaust to be E-compliant for the European market?
Moving countries is easier than modifying a car there.
Gonna be as best you’ll get out the 3 cylinder I think good job
HKS should researching for the electronic exhaust valve control system for all sport exhaust
Will this exhaust be a available in Europe ?

Not enough sound difference between the two exhausts, so unless its a massive power jump i can't see it being worth the $$$..
