Am I understanding this right, a felon that was previously arrested for a gun violation killed these officers?...why was he out? Who okayed his release?

So they shot the initial gunman and then shots continued from the house where there was a 15 year old and a female inside! So they continued the shooting. This is sick

Have you ever seen cops ambushed even at traffic interventions? I do! I am a retired cop from a Tactical Unit, having to deal with drug dealers every single day, and also with riots when they broke up! Must people never get it, because they don't even know how is to wear that uniform.

there was a woman and a 17 year old boy in the house after the fugitive was killed. They had a high-powered rifle. That will go through a bullet resistant vest like a hot knife on butter.

Obviously the husband/father was the suspect and the whole family was home on a Monday afternoon, is that difficult to discern? Doesn’t mean the wife and kid had anything to do with it, but the cops aren’t just gonna say “oh, go ahead, you’re free to go”… they want answers

Most armor,unlike in the movies,won't defeat rifle ammo. I'm sure the story will unfold that the suspect was "well known to law enforcement". I'm also starting to believe that allowing violent criminals and even repeat drunk drivers is some kind of job security for lawyers and the judicial system.

Most the time they wear vest, but it not some that stops larger round. Like if guy had a high power rifle, or most vest if they get hit multiple times they become useless. But true point blank shots head, leg ,neck, etc. with the time it was taken to be able to get to the officer. They’d bleed out. This is bad day for those officer families

Typical suspect.
In 2014, in my hometown in New Brunswick, Canada we had 5 officers shot, 3 were killed, 2 injured. We are usually a quiet place, but we were locked down until the shooter was caught. He was off his meds, early 20's, played too many violent, video games and only targeted police officers. His family are good people. It was a horrific event. Still gives me chills when I remember it. Helicopters, SWAT, police, medics. Even the hospitals were locked down.
My heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of these officers. May you feel God's arms holding you through this horrific event❤.

There isn’t a higher level of expertise than US Marshal Fugitive Task Force…this is basically what they do…only other thing that could have been done was calling SEAL TEAM 6 or Delta Force
