In the final video at Snow Shoe Bike Park, Joe and I are both heading back to conquer our perspective sections of trail that have given us the hardest time over the weekend of riding.
For Joe, it's back to the section of black tech trail called "10 gallon" that he crashed on in the very first video and consequently broke his rear triangle and set him a fair bit back confidence wise.
For me, there had been this one drop right in the middle of a really fun fast section of trail, that for whatever reason I just kept going around all weekend. It was really bumming me out because it was right after a super fun jump and berm that you come out of with speed and it sends you right down into an even faster chute of trees and roots. I had to link the two with this drop to really complete what turned out to be our favorite way down the west side.
A TALL ORDER FOR THE FINAL PART OF OUR BIKE PARK WEEKEND
But we were up for the task.
And lucky for us, we also serendipitously ran into two awesome local groms, Aiden and Jack, just in time to go session these features that they were very familiar with.
In the end, you will have to watch the video to see whether or not each of us was able to get our redemption, BUT I just wanna touch on the fact that these two kids were so damn cool.
Both of them were absolute shredders, and both were super humble and didn't judge when me or Tonka were hesitant about something. They didn't hesitate to stop and talk about a feature and always had great advice (pretty amazing insight coming from such young riders - like 14 yo!).
Anyway, the lap with this these two groms turned out to be Tonka and my favorite of the weekend, and I hope you enjoy coming along for the ride.
    LFRHGS!
    Alexander

I'm SO STOKED for the progression made in this video, and especially for Mr. Tonka for going back and getting redemption on the section that he crashed and broke his bike on less than 24 hours ago. That takes some serious determination. CAN WE GET TONKA TO 5K SUBS TODAY?? HE'S SO CLOSE!!! ua-cam.com/channels/DwGPugX6uNIUnxGgtde5hQ.htmlvideos

justin was in buffalo hey Justin don't do it in the rain and watch the switchbacks. You'll enjoy all the free speed if you go when its nice and dry. Have a blast you'll love it. Don't shuttle start on the parking lot near the highway.

The Singletrack Sampler holy shit you’re at stokesville???? YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE SWIM HOLE at the bridge. Trust me, it's a requirement after a ride. Head towards the Stokesville campground and you can't miss it. Dammit, man!! I live about 30 mins away, this makes me so sad😓Make sure you hit up tillman trail on your way down, super flowy and fast. Oh man I'm so bummed I didn't know you were gonna be up here!!!
And wait, you're doing a downhill....you're doing Reddish Knob, aren't you!?! *squeee*

I've made the upgrade from no suspension to 140mm out back and 150mm up front. The old bike will become more commute oriented. The new bike, its so forgiving, full suspension turns faceplant moments into first class smooth sailing. Incredible what all the modern mountain bike tech is capable of, especially when compared to the late 80's/early 90's bike that I have been riding for the past few years.
Super stoked, hopefully the confidence doesn't get the better of me xD.

Good job on that drop! Sometimes, so long as you're sure you've got the skills, it's just a matter of switching your brain off :)
I conquered my fear of a drop near me recently too. It's not as big as this but it drops directly into a rock roll that goes straight into a hard turn to the left.
I always knew i could do it but as you come up to it, it just looks like you're about to ride off a cliff and it always scared me too much!

Excellent riding as always Alex and Tonka. But I gotta say, I think both of you guys are far and away more capable of doing the features you guys redeemed. Reckon that torque could be used as a day to day trail bike or is it a fireroad and down kinda bike?

    • @MrTonka
      @MrTonka 6 років тому

If you're strong, you can pedal it up a lot of stuff. Other wise, i'm thinking fireroad and down.
