It is good that you included the Chinese Characters flashing in the screen along with the pronunciation. I am trying to learn the Chinese Characters that goes with the word or sentence, too. Mandarin is the official language to consolidate communication barriers even between Chinese whose native language may be Fookien, etc.

Thank you! thank you!thank you! for making this video! I hear all of these phrases all of the time. I live in China and I’m trying desperately to learn Chinese. One aspect that is difficult is the absolute speed at which Chinese people speak! The other problem I often have developing an ear for this language is regional accents that slightly alter the word. I live in Jiangsu province and find that people in Wuxi say some things slightly different than in Nanjing.
I think I’ve found an energetic teacher who makes me hang on to every word she says. Thanks a lot !

Katrina, in English a common way to say “nothing” when asked “what are you doing?” We say “nada.” Saying “nothing” would sound awkward and a little defensive.
Also you can say “nothing much”. That would be a more respectful way to say it.
This was probably my favorite, most helpful lesson I’ve seen. Thank you very much😀
I think "nada" is pretty region specific. Not a common response in Australia at the very least.
"Nothing" can sound defensive especially with the right tone of voice but I guess situational.
"nothin" pronounced in a casual way can be fine or yea "nothing much" or "not much"
Nada is actually an Spanish word meaning nothing in English 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
