@@toharumi7383 Thank you for your feedback, but to me it's really long..hahahah))))) I almost fell asleep when I recheck the video again and again...hahahah ))))
I love it when you speed up the words and phrases like how a native Chinese speaker would! It really helps me to prepare myself to listen out for those more "slurred" type words. Thank you SOO much!
In fact, I must say that your teaching spirits always engages my attention throughout your lesson. Bravo, keep it up. You are gradually moving me from a zero speaker to a confidential speaker
I’ve watched quite a number of Learning Mandarin videos on UA-cam recently and your content is top notch. Great work! I’m looking forward to continue learning from you.

My daughter in law is from Chongqin. She lives with my son in Holland, the Netherlands, Her son, nearly 5 speaks Chinese. I trie to learn it. I manage to understand and speak a bit and can sing Chinese children's songs. Thanks for your free lesson's! I recognize a lot! I am Dutch and a French teacher and until now I haven't visited China because of my health problems. However I want to say one thing about making small talks in Mandarin. In Holland a coffeeshop is a place where you can buy soft drugs like haschisch and eventually drink a coffee. To drink a coffee you can go to a coffeehouse or tearoom or to a brasserie or even to a bar.
Thanks so much for this lesson,it's really helpful and I'm happy to know that I can still complain about the weather in Mandarin. As a British person, I truly love to complain about the weather 😆
Por first time in my life I have part time to study very hard mandarin with you, keep going on, nice way to teach Mandarin and the same time can enhance my English also
Well Katrina, you are doing a great job. Almost reaching the level of the Pimsleur's method. Great ! I have read most of the comments here under and confirm you are top notch ! Do you know why ? Each specific word is explained on a litteral basis and in the same time you give the contextual meaning. This is very important for beginners, doing so you help them get (and easily keep in mind) the original source of the word and the interpretation in a common conversation. My mother language being French, Chinese is the sixth language I am actually learning. From my modest experience I would like to share this with you : you might want to exercise a "graduated interval recall" of the new words you teach us. This hammers in our memory the freshly new learned words. This method is really effective as it recall the words the words after 5 seconds, 5 minutes, 5 days ... And If I may, i would like to ask you to talk just a little slower when pronouncing the new words or the words explaining the new word. In any case, you are and stay top noth ! Keep on ! And thanks again for the quality of your nature !
For me this are one of the most helpful lessons at the beginning. We can all look up works ourselves in the dictionary but there are always several options (especially in Chinese its very overwhelming..) and as a beginner you have no idea how to use them or which word is the right register in each situation...

maybe for future videos you could make something like this about going in a restaurant with all details like how to say how many persons you are, making a reservation, ordering food, is it coming to give tips... speaking with the waiters, your guests... or just how to order food in a take away restaurant.
"this is exactly what I want to learn..so I can go to the local Chinese restaurant in my town and surprise the owners wife "(Rosie)in her own language..lol..I can imagine her expresion when she sees me (a regular customer).. ordering from her menu in Chinese.. something I've always wanted to do"!!??😁😂🤣🤣😎😆.. they're really good people"!!

Hi Katrina. I am enjoying your Chinese beginner course and Hanzi course. I have a suggestion for a video. Would be nice to show how to make a phone call to make reservation/appointment. Restaurant reservation, Massage appointment, etc. how to do these properly and what reservation operator may ask when you call. Thanks. Harold.
Great suggestion! Thank you very much! You can actually give me all your suggestion and questions under my course video comment section. I can answer you within 48 business hours. Since I don't always check comment section on my UA-cam channel. But I always answer questions and get suggestions from my course students in our course comment section. Just so you know. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

It is exactly like in our local language, we sometimes greet the people by saying " sampun ngajeng?" Which means ' have you eaten?, the answer is always ' sampun ' means ' yes i have ' very similar😃. Our local language is Bali language, in Indonesia. Tks
I wish you can make the video with list of vocabulary and common sentences in each level. I appreciated your video because it has traditional and simply Chinese together. It's useful for me. Thank you so much!

I watch Laoshu 55000 and he speaks but doesn't explain why he says certain words, not saying he's not correct about it but you explain why, I have learned few phrases but now I would like to learn more so I will subscribe to your channel,Xie Xie.
With respect to lao zhi... It's NOT TRUE that we don't care whether a person has eaten or not when we asked "Che pow le ma..?" It's just illogical and senseless to form such a cultural Q and modernly translate/write it off as simply a "hello and how are you, I don't really care " thing. That phrase has its purpose and often can lead to an invitation for the listener to join the speaker for a meal or the listener could reply "hai mei Che, yao ee chi Che ma.? (haven't eaten yet, wanna eat together .?) Keep up the good work...
