    I'm really interested in this vehicle, but I'll probably wait until a new version with the Blade 2 battery. It's a heavy vehicle ~2300kg, so this will impact the energy consumption. The Blade V2 battery has a 210 Wh/kg rating while the current blade battery is rated at 150Wh/kg (from what I've read). If the same battery capacity is kept, this would mean that the V2 battery would be ~30% lighter; this would translate to an appreciable reduction in weight, which would impact consumption and range. Handling will probably be improved as well.

    • @adamplays6830
      @adamplays6830 День тому

      Hmmm, I thought SL7 has already got V2, hasn't it? I know Sealion 6 (called SEAL U here in EU) got V1 and improved technology of blade batteries was supposed to be a huge advantage of SL7 in comparison to SEAL U. Do you want to say they still share exactly same battery version? what a pity ;(

    • @UgglemannenFTW
      @UgglemannenFTW День тому +1

      The blade V2 will be used in thier high end cars first like the Yangwang and Denza. So might be a while before the other BYD cars recieve it.
      Regarding handling Björn didn't use the ITAC aka the torque vectoring control....

      Exactly what I thought. BYD have already produced V2 battery which themselves said is the best battery but still they didn’t use it and they came with many new models in which none of them have the new battery. I think it is smart to wait buying any BYD car until they start to use their new battery.

    Love the way at 19min mark you blasted past the 60km/h sign at 114...and just stayed there!! Also RHD countries use left lane unless overtaking!! I think these cars are optimised for 100km/hr speed limits and get good energy consumption at these speeds. I know in Australia you would have lost your license within the first hour, especially Gold Coast to Brisbane. Enjoy the videos and the variety of cars.

    The BYD Sea Lion is an average Chinese EV capable of average Chinese EV charging speeds, and is in no way "charging WAY faster than most Chinese cars". I know you don't get a chance to test Chinese EVs in China, but you should realize that the fastest charging EVs are in fact ONLY found in China.
    The Li Mega can charge at over 300 kW ... at 80% SOC, and peaks at nearly 550 kW. Never mind the cars, there are not even chargers capable of such speeds outside of China. Not even the latest Taycan can reach anywhere near those speeds, let alone most Teslas stuck on 400V architecture.
    Geely's new 2.0 Golden Battery peaks at over 380 kW, despite the fact that it is LFP and not having huge capacity at 75 kWh. BYD's Blade 1.0 batteries on ePlatform 3.0 such as on the Atto 3 do not charge particularly fast, that's true, but their ePlatform 3.0 Evo already charges significantly faster, as you see with this Sea Lion 07, and when Blade 2.0 launches in the coming months, charging speed will presumably increase even more.

    I have been driving the excellent version for a few days in Norway last week, and i had it on like 2.4 with heatpump running.
    And we did play a bit with the car even spending a bit more than normal usage. I have my self been driving bmw x5 for like 11 years now. And i kind of liked the sealion 7 and ordered one in Indigo grey. The car for me feels like a good car to drive for normal weekely driving. And it gives a premium feeling inside it. I would expect a number of software updates on the car making it slowly better and better.
    And it seems to have some nice features in the adas nothing i learned on my own with the borrow car, but if you look at this youtube clip of someone driving the car pretty hard it seems to even use braking on the inside weels when pushed hard in corners to help the car around the corners and to make it beeing able to do it in higher speeds.
    ua-cam.com/video/K4Ii52iq9Io/v-deo.html&ab_channel=YSKhongDriving
    So at least i am looking forward to get my first EV car in start of februar.
