You should retry fury druid but max Dire Wolf and Oak Sage, while getting the 1 point wonders. It makes for a very tanky and safe fury druid (very tanky wolves and grizzly), which offer many more targets for enemies to hit and allow you to attack with impunity.
Fury druid can be solid (assuming you'll get past immunes later), but pretty slow, like any build which relies on direct melee attacks without AoE. You can make tank werewolf druid, with Fury, Oak Sage, Carrion Vine (you need only 7-10 points to get great boost in health return like 8% from every corpse), then you add Feral Rage (some people max it), and optionally 1 point into Hurricane as crowd control. Some people invest in Grizzly instead of Feral Rage, some people invest all in maxed Carrion Vine. Different variations, but still solid except immunes. Crushing Blow and Cannot be Frozen are essential for any melee.
This is my first build I've got to hell difficulty! Currently on Act 2. Managed to make a smoke and also found a Jalals off Nightmare Baal! I used Humongous Giant Axe and then Hone Sundan Yari through Nightmare. Finally found a Fleshrender Barber Club from Hell Andariel and could make a Rhyme to not be frozen anymore. I just run past the physical immunes. I run past way more things than most people. Survivability was fine with feral rage and 2300 life to be honest. You can always go for oak sage but it's not really necessary I'm very lucky I got treachery for sure. I would have farmed meph nm for something otherwise

Awesome video. I am just doing the same HC SSF run ! Am just starting the hell countess run grind… did not have your luck on runes though and my res are trash. No treachery. Only good find has been steel driver which I’ve upped. I do have CBF (ghost armor) but still no CB… So got a lot of work to do! Very impressive you’ve managed. As you say one of the harder ones I’ve done so far - though still can’t manage to finish vengeance paladin.
Good luck! This one took me forever so just keep grinding and you'll get there. A bunch of people have mentioned vengeancedin at this point. I should get one going sometime soon
@@thenuclearrabbit well I’ve just started my 6th attempt to vengeadin, as my wolf ripped doing hell countess looking for a couple of Lem runes (treachery and lawbringer) yesterday. I rolled into pally straight away…
Insight RW is very nice for the fury druid, he is naturally fast with polearms and the damage plus other mods is actually great. Other than getting lucky with a Bonesnap, that is the best progress weapon. Other than that the druid has a lot of potential good weapons, as your video showcases. Two handed weapons have respectable damage, and between uniques, sets and runewords you can easily get something useful. For the CBF the best solution is Death's belt plus gloves. Both are low level items that have a very good chance to drop from Normal Cow king. The combo gives CBF, 15 all res, Life Leech and 30 ias. Now we can upgrade the belt into a demonhide sash to make it actually usable. I go with the oak sage, he will give you up to 5k life. So much stuff in hell is unleechable anyways. Having a big HP pool reduces the amount of hit recovery you get. Ar isn't that big of a problem for the wolf, you got Fury boost plus warewolf boost. If you take a AR-aura merch, you can easily do it. Also also, i too tried doing the solo-wolf route, but found having the bear to tank and scout corridors invaluable. @@Tumasch I just refused to give up on the Fal rune. Sheer principle of the thing at that point. After Baal I did end up taking him further and making an oath for my merc
One tip to get a good weapon early is to gamble a maul. It starts appearing at level 17, it just crushes act 1 and 2. once you get to level 30+, you can cube a Savage Polearm (66-80%ED) with the following recipe: diamond (any) + belt + kris + staff. If you get a partizan or a bill, you're good to go.
Great run. Was always scared, but now eager to try Fury. Hmm... so I guess my style is different, I would used 1x UM rune for Crescent Moon to get some non physical damage (and b/c Static is just generally good). Then the 2nd UM for Duress to get Cold + Crushing. (But Earthshifter & Treachery look good too.)
Duress is probably better. But treachery basically makes you unkillable which is really nice. You can always get cb on other slots but getting fade is not possible otherwise. The earthshifter was a ton of fun, but I wouldn't be surprised if Crescent moon would be stronger. But I'll probably never get a chance to use a ssf thunder maul again so I just went for it
You probably know this at this point, but you can reliably get cannot be frozen by farming the cow king in normal for the death's sash and gloves (1:76) which also gives you +15% res, 30% poison res and 30% attack speed, which is seriously good. I always do this on my melee characters!
Another tip. Patch 2.6 introduced the Hearth Runeword for a three socketed headpiece, with Nightmare Countess runes that grants huge cold res and Cannot be Frozen.
Im currently doing a ssf werewolf/summoning run. I end up with basicly the same werewolf skills as you, but only 10 points in lycan. The rest goes into the summons and oak sage. It works a lot better without good gear than only wolf!
I would try to go for strength - rhyme and max block since blocking shield is viable with new patches. I'm gon try it sometime on a sp switch. Also CB gloves may be a good option. Your vids are awesome
Nice job ! For gloves, you should have crafted the blood ones, you can get up to 10% additional crushing blow, some HP and random affixes. With so much grind you had, its impossible to not get at least a decent pair. Same could have been done for belt. Also, game is not really over :D You still need the Ubers.
Also, I had worse luck... Wanted a Pul rune to upgrade my Softcore SSF WW Barb's Bonesnap to elite. Ran Hell Countess from lvl 72 to Lvl 82. Got two Lem runes dropped, 5 Fals, 2 Mals, 1 Ist and 6 Kos... But never a Pul Rune. I cubed two Lem and 3 Fals for that Pul Rune. 2 runs later, Physical Bowazon. Got a Pul rune dropped from Nightmare council member on Durance Lvl3, and a Lo rune from a boss mob on Hell Tower lvl 5.
Nice going! I'm doing the same thing - I'm playing werebear with maul though. I'm considering going Fireclaw before Act 4 - I can't really find a decent weapon. I'm considering a very fast weapon and just go ham with the Fire claw - should give some free damage through the tree really.

@@epicsune oh no worries I am loving doing these! I've been playing this game for 22 years. I won't burn out quickly. I also plan on recording other (similar) games as well with the same concept.

Thank you! It differs on the build a lot. Fast characters take me 10-12 hours (think sorcs and stuff) grindier builds clock in at about 17-19 hours. Although this fury druid went over 30 hours because of all the farming I needed to do. I got very unlucky in not finding a fal rune in so many countess runs
Andariel Has much lower chance of droping them only farm cow king for efficenty this ladder i need around 20 runs to get them that's about 1 hour also found other Items like Sander boots, Twitchthrone, cow King armor, bonesnap rattlecage
And yes its obvious its gonna be hard doing IT with melee char But i się IT with zerk barb using ith el eth in flail Howl makes it easy for other melee char i recommend using nadir runeword for cloak of shadows
Wow you are absolutely right. I didn't know the difference was that big. (I just checked Silospen) thx for the tip! Definitely something to remember for me
Yes, I thought about giving it to the merc. But I never found a good base before I ended up finding the hammer. Giving him treachery is also a massive boost for him as well. Lem's just have so many good things going for them
@@thenuclearrabbit I'd really like to have you run these SSF HC runs with a timer. I'd like to get a better sense of how many hours it takes to do this. I do SSF runs - but burrow runes that the countess could easily drop from other single-player accounts to mitigate farming time.
@@JJV7243 depending on the build it takes 12-18 hours in total. With exceptions for things like spearazons and fury druids which easily go over 20 hours. Sorc runs take about 9-10 hours. I'm not going to use a timer, because at that point I'm just speedrunning
after two ladder seasons of doing a rabies druid, would like to see you give that a run for its money! would be dope seeing how it goes from 0 to the end, especially since psn creeper lvling is a thing in normal
I had never in my life played a Rabies druid and I could not get it out of my mind. I currently have a Rabies druid in act 3 normal. So far so good! Thx for the suggestion
I'd never play shifter druid in normal on HC since fissure is so busted. You had like the perfect nm run with 2 early lems. Druids take an attack speed penalty with spears btw.
I try to switch things up. Fissure is obviously insane but that would result in every video having the same first few minutes. I basically start using a skill once I reach the lvl requirement for it. Yeah those early lem's were insane. So I've been told. But I was very happy where I ended up with this
I would try to farm some terror zones or mephisto nightmare. You should be able to get something much better. I would use a strength (amn+tir) flail (can shop in a2 normal) over an insight. You could give it to your merc though
No. Don't have the pvp achievement, don't have a soj and don't have a 99 char. I also haven't done ubers. I just don't care about any of those. *edit* I would go for ubers if it wasn't a massive grind to get there for most chars. I like the idea of super bosses and have done them on plugy during covid. But I don't want to do that grind again
@@thenuclearrabbit been thinking of how this build would work better if you could put points in the summons and get a wolf pack going with a bear. Seems like you were struggling at times because you were often the main target and pulling a lot of the aggro. Having the wolves and bear will break that up and give you a lot more breathing room. I probably wouldn't spend that many points in lycanthropy. SSF makes this a lot more difficult tho. Like I've got a Summoner druid who I'm thinking of respeccing to a Summoner/Fury wolf hybrid because I picked up Jalal's (lucky!) and two Fleshrenders (druid club with +2 to shapeshifting and just +1 to Druid skills and bunch of other goodies). I'm not strictly SSF tho, I play solo but stuff I find I share between all my other characters. My ladder character is currently SSF tho. @@thenuclearrabbit Good to hear that there is more runs coming! Just remember to have fun and be careful of burnout. I’m sure I speak for many viewers when I say I’d rather wait a few more days for a great run than daily videos that feels more like a chore and takes the fun out of the run 👍🏻
@@epicsune oh no worries I am loving doing these! I've been playing this game for 22 years. I won't burn out quickly. I also plan on recording other (similar) games as well with the same concept.
lol how i missed this video xD you can do new runewords in offline single player. one gives cannot be frozen in helm. you only need shael io, easy to farm. but yeah melee characters are painful without good gear. well i did found vex on nightmare when i was going to nihlathak XD
This one was recorded before the patch happened :)
Gratz on the Vex!
@@thenuclearrabbit oh ok :) i didnt even know vex is possible a5 nightmare lol
@@Mangakadenizgaming neither did I, but makes sense when you think about the monster levels
@@thenuclearrabbit yeah most high runes have low ilvl
Why dont you play as elemental till 60-70, then respec to fury?
Cause that's not the point of the video :)
For normal diablo, I wonder if a triple tal flail on the switch would be useful to swap with malice back and forth when he isn't green.
That is a really good idea. That would definitely work. Just switch up open wounds with the poison. Very smart I like it
What is that background song ( the first one ) I know I've heard it somewhere but can't pinpoint it.
I would have to check. But I believe it's from persona 5
Man I like your runs.
How long does it takes you each run.
Tip for all melee chars.
Farm cow King on normal difficulty he drops death belt and gloves which gives you 30ias 15all res and cabnnot be Frozen
I would rather farm them from andarial or something to be honest. Melee cows is such a trainwreck
Andariel Has much lower chance of droping them only farm cow king for efficenty this ladder i need around 20 runs to get them that's about 1 hour also found other Items like Sander boots, Twitchthrone, cow King armor, bonesnap rattlecage
And yes its obvious its gonna be hard doing IT with melee char
But i się IT with zerk barb using ith el eth in flail
Howl makes it easy for other melee char i recommend using nadir runeword for cloak of shadows
Wow you are absolutely right. I didn't know the difference was that big. (I just checked Silospen) thx for the tip! Definitely something to remember for me
gamble large axe. it's very fast attack speed for druid. can carry through normal. Congrats on finding that maul.
Good to know! Thank you
I always make sure to carry a poison charm. Some builds need it to kill Lister.
Good call, I need to do that
You made treachery and said you got ias but, ss Druid only benefits from ias on weapon.
They changed that in resurrected
Did you consider making a lawbreaker with the 2nd lem rune for decrepify procs (as a swap?)
I'm not going to use a timer, because at that point I'm just speedrunning
lekker bezig jonge!
Dank je
10:43 "smooth" :)
4:42 this long Diablo footage makes me nervous 😬
Yeah the fight takes really long with some builds. But we made it through
after two ladder seasons of doing a rabies druid, would like to see you give that a run for its money! would be dope seeing how it goes from 0 to the end, especially since psn creeper lvling is a thing in normal
I had never in my life played a Rabies druid and I could not get it out of my mind. I currently have a Rabies druid in act 3 normal. So far so good! Thx for the suggestion
Cant wait to see the vid!! Hope the run goes well!
But I was very happy where I ended up with this
Is that music from Persona by chance?
It most certainly is
@@thenuclearrabbit haha nice, such a good soundtrack
08:15 i thought that shape shifting druid only benefitted from weapon ias, not armor or others?
They changed that in resurrected
Hi it is good idea repect point and use war scyhte as insight ? i am lvl 50
I would try to farm some terror zones or mephisto nightmare. You should be able to get something much better. I would use a strength (amn+tir) flail (can shop in a2 normal) over an insight. You could give it to your merc though
Was just playing the video while playing and found a cranium basher as you found earthshifter
Gratz! That's one I haven't found yet
@@thenuclearrabbit you'll probably get more earthshifters before a cranium basher unfortunately
I have 7 templar's might. I know what I'm in for :')
On what Player Setting was this played?
I switch it up depending on what I think the build can do. Mostly p1 though
You could have made a CTA. Were you holding out for something else?
Never found a good base to put it in
Just curious, do you have the platinum trophy for this game?
Fury Druid or Throw barb which is over all best late game?
Finding good gear is a bit easier with the fury druid cause your not only limited to throwing weapons but both are pretty hard runs.
oh :() guess i just try javazon then, Ive heard they can kill a lot of stuff with super, super budget gear.@@thenuclearrabbit
Fury druid and throwbarb are totally doable. But javazon is one of the best builds in the game so it'll do well.
well done
Thank you
Played old d2 (softcore)and one of five items which miss Shifter (others Deathweb, Mangsong, Tyrael, shadow dancer). 😂
I'm missing Tyreal's and death web from those :). I'll get them some day
@7:32 oof you got down to 7 hp here :0
Yeah it got pretty close
A point - just a point - in carrion vine could go far as well! It's a one point wonder. Noms on corpses and converts that to life for you, albeit not a huge amount without a few +skills.
I ended up going into summons and mentioned wanting a bear as well. Shapeshift summon hybrid is something I want to try as well.
Go necro summoner next time pls)) like you man
Added it to the queue. But I'm pretty backed up. I never expected these to be so popular. But I'll get to it!
Can you do hammerdin?
ua-cam.com/video/erBwhrAbNVY/v-deo.html
When u respected with tmaul u should of went with Armageddon secondary it gives build good wave clear
I could have done that but the thiught of speccing into a caster with 200+ strength stopped me
im coming over
?
lawbringer + treachery + rhyme + bear would have solved a lot of problems. Less raw damage output but more effective damage overall.
Probably, but I really liked how this turned out in the end :)
@@thenuclearrabbit Loved it as well. Looking forward to more meele hc competions. Potentially even ubers.
foof that health bar fluctuated like mad on this build. druid melee needs some big D(efense)
Druid can take it though!
@@thenuclearrabbit I should have watched the whole video before commenting...the lack of offense was way more of an issue than a lack of defense
Haha no worries! I don't mind. But yeah on melee the problem usually is damage. Survivability not so much of a problem unless things go really poorly
Wait is Cleglaws good on this build?!!!!!!!
Cleglaws gloves are slow and crowd control available on lvl 4. They are insanely powerful. Even used to be banned in certain pvp groups.
I tried it out last night and boy you are right. Just can't believe I've had them in my stash from normal to hell and never tried em 😂
@@LOZARATOR they are very underrated. Enjoy them!
can i borrow your rune luck? lol
Sure here you go
@TheNuclearRabbit Send some my way please.
Тут на аду лем не падает а тут на кошмаре упала
I got really lucky on the Lem rune
do MA sin dude
Will do!
