    There was a time i felt this song. When you're going through hell you need some encouragement that you might just get out of it.

    • @BourbonCountryReacts

      Agreed. I think Dustin's point was to just pause and ask the question, "is any of this the result of my own decisions?" Sometimes, that answer will definitely be no. But sometimes, that answer is "yep, sure is." It's probably good to at least ask the question. - Keith

    Here let me help you with the meaning of the song : If you’re in a predicament where you believe there is no end, just continue to progress without stopping. If it frightens you, conceal those emotions. The situation will eventually clear out, and you’ll attain peace before some problems you feared will get the chance to occur.

    I have struggled with depression and ptsd (not from military service) for years. This song helped me keep fighting. To say quit doing the things that keep you in hell feels too close to "she wouldn't have been raped if she hadn't been .....".

    • @BourbonCountryReacts
      @BourbonCountryReacts  2 роки тому

      I find that to be a leap that Michael Jordan couldn't make. We all know people who make poor decisions all day, every day, then blame everyone but themselves for the consequences of those decisions. I don't think that's what this particular song is about, but, it's always a good idea just to pause and check, "hey, am I contributing to this in any way?"
      To jump from there to rape-victim shaming is, in my opinion, ridiculous. - Keith

    • @dakin7612
      @dakin7612 2 роки тому +1

      I said it feels too close to... I understand that poor decisions can lead to "hell". I went thru a period in my teens where my siblings and I were put into a children's home and talent through a lot of " hell" that was not of our own making. That didn't keep others from blaming me and I blamed myself for many years. I was just trying to say that not all he'll is of your own making. I guess I was too open, but rape was one of the things I went through.

    • @BourbonCountryReacts
      @BourbonCountryReacts  2 роки тому +2

      @@dakin7612 Yeah, that's an awful set of experiences that I can't even imagine. And I'm very sorry they happened to you. I think both Dustin and I completely understand that there are certainly circumstances, and even entire series of circumstances that are not within your control. And I see how this song would absolutely be motivation to get through them.
      I think you probably have examples around you of Dustin's point too, where, people continue to make terrible decisions and then complain about the consequences.
      We see and understand both types. I agree that this particular song is almost certainly about those beyond control. I think the bottom line is that if a song and a message in it makes your day brighter, it's a good song. Right? - Keith

      I believe the people of Ukraine would appreciate this song, because it encompasses the spirit they are showing. Before we even get started I stopped another video I was watching to check this one out, one my my absolute favorite songs that came out I was a 19D in the Army. It became a mentality for me, if you're in the $h!t keep on pushing through it .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    Edit: Now to me the message has always been if you are going through it you have to keep pushing forward, because if you can you can pull yourself out of it , just don't quit .

    • @BourbonCountryReacts

      heheh, I have a fun analogy I've been using for quite some time.
      Navy, AF, standard MOS's = "associates degree in misery."
      USMC/Army Combat MOS's = "Bachelor's degree in misery."
      Certain USMC/Army combat MOS's = "Masters degree in misery."
      Groups, Recon, PJs = "Doctorates in misery."
      So, whatever moto gets you through, use it. - Keith

  • @d.t.r.8036
    @d.t.r.8036 Рік тому

    Keith and I are definitely on the same page with this song.
    And, sometimes the word of encouragement that is needed most is simply the reminder that things change in time...the good doesn't last forever, but neither does the bad. A subtitle for this could have been: don't let the bad days get & keep ya down.
    Dustin, it might be useful for your first listens to not watch the cinematic videos so that you are getting just the song itself, without being biased by a mismatch in the two. Then, if inclined, watch the video on a second pass.
    For example, I know the Reba mini-movie experiences can disrupt the true first experience of hearing her songs.

    The message I've always taken from this song is don't give up don't quit push through push forward that's just the way it is now admittedly I'd never seen the video before I've only heard it on the radio but the message is still the same even if you're an idiot don't quit don't stop trying don't sit down and throw your hands up and say I can't do this. Dustin, you hit it on the nose with the video, Keith you were right in the songs interpretation because when I first heard this song and saw the video my reaction was the same as y'alls.
    The bourbon...looks weak color wise. No offense, but that's a no for me, I'm not drinking Minnesota whiskey.

    There's an old joke about country if you play it backwards you get your dog back your wife back your job back ect.Ya there is a division for negativity but thats just one area of many.Its ironic I think one of you was having a bad day.Perfectly understandable but that makes the song more fitting.

      Ha! Naw, Dustin's day wasn't that bad. He was just interjecting a "pause and think" into the message of the song. - Keith
