This looks like a winner. I taught myself to play the $299 competitor "Akai EWI", but with this having the new bluetooth standard for musical instruments, besides the built in sounds, you can be wireless, and play any VST synth of which dozens today are completely free or nearly so for a PC or Mac... it clearly has wind dynamics, and seems to have a bite sensor and the advent of a mobile app with 50 sounds to practice anywhere with musical backing of your choice is a pretty compelling thing!
In this video, he's playing samples via MIDI. The Mini's on-board sounds are not this good. But, I intend to use it as a Midi controller, so, no problem.
That saw wave performance was a clever way to apply breath articulations to a digital waveform. Would love to see what it can do to a sine or square wave. 😁
This popped up on my Amazon look list. I’m a clarinet player and flutist. I’m wondering is this a receded instrument and what type of reed it would use?
It doesn't use an actual reed. There is a price of plastic that simulates the reed. It should feel pretty easy to use for you. You don't need to put in effort to keep your mouth positioning in tune.
I have worked the fingerings out apart from ' D' upper first octive, I am struggling with this note. On a descant recorder you cover the hole at the back and finger like 'C' but it is not possible on the Roland AE-01. I've looked at the note guidance at the back of the booklet sent me and it gives you all notes apart from 'D'. Maybe you could advice, please.
This is an intriguing device. I especially enjoyed the saw lead performance. I'm not sure how to view it, though: is it isn't own instrument or can it used to learn other instruments? If someone learn via the AE-01, could they transfer those skills to another wind instrument? If it is its own instrument, what would be the next step on the journey to learn it once the lessons are complete? What books would one read?
You could use this to practice saxophone or clarinet and you could transfer from this to saxophone or clarinet. And you would study saxophone or clarinet books.
I have recently purchased an Aerophone Mini and I found it harder to blow into than I have initially thought, thus I would like to ask what would be the best settings of the “Breath MIDI Out Parameter 1 & 2” in order to make the lightest effort when blowing (my lungs aren’t that strong anymore). The “Breath Sensitivity” is set at 1 already. Thanks beforehand.
There are some midi settings in the app, even cc and channel selectors but no instructions how to connect it properly to any DAW. My Ableton doesn't see it.
@@pako5 Thanks for that info .. They say it can be used in any DAW but I can,t find any tutorials online that shows how it is used in FL Reason or anything else.
The Mini is a troublesome piece of low level budget junk with it's clicking, clacking keys. The Bluetooth transmission lag between the app software and the mini is terrible, Roland should have fixed that before they ever released it and it's still not resolved to this day. The truth is it's aimed at the unknowing beginner that probably wont notice the problems or difference right away! Best to buy ether a real wind instrument or at least buy the middle of the line in this type of Roland electronic gadget because this one has issues if the Truth be told

I love the french horn sound- I kept hearing "Peter and the Wolf" in my head
that last smooth jam he plays is so awesome

No reed.
Really love this. Trying to decide which one to get.

Amazing Rip’n Dip sound 👌
Excellent wow first seeing this instrument 😎

I wanna know too
Did you ever get an answer to this?
@@rjones1357 not yet, thanks
From 2:20 and onwards, that sounds amazing. Is this an actual song?
I thought the same thing, so awesome
Thanks, it's amazing what this little thing can do...
Will this instrument clog up with use? How would you clean the air passage?
This is a great demo ... Thank you very much
Anyone knows if this instrument can be used be left handed?
Just a fancy Sax-A-Boom...
I can't find the MIDI Implementation Chart. Which cc numbers does it send? I hope it sends Portamento.

Sounds amazing. Can it also play bagpipe or "hümmelchen"?
Wow so cool!! Wish list!
What is this amazing music?
What is the way to blow? like a recorder flute? Thankx!
Like a saxophone
Sounds great. But which amplifier is used here to get such a sound ?
I think he is USB into a computer and recording there
Does it have both a suck and a blow setting?
I think he does!
Klasse Vorführung!
How to purchase in India ?.
Need more air or less to compare to acoustic sax?
Il est relié à une enceinte ?
Zamfir, Master of the pan flute says: “HOLD MY FLUTE 🍺 “
this would be a fun way to improvize weird leads mid beat ig
Weird that you are not showing us how to or where to plug it in...
its battery operated, you don't need to plug it in
How are you doing today my name is Bryan
God's blessed person
i play the flute-i wonder how easy it would be for me to pick this up
Probably lighter than an actual flute so not hard at all!! 🚪🚶🏾♀️
Woow , i ❤️it very much
Price ?
oh god not more shopping center music
man im just trying to find starset stuff 😭😭
great instrument bloody annoying delay when using a bluetooth speaker
Seriously? No alto?
No bite sensor...right?
There is no bite sensor : only aerophone go or ae 10 have a bite sensor.
How to play semitones?
There two keys for the right hand pinkie to make any note sharp or flat
hi zenith
The "violin" sound is pretty bad...
@Robbi Rose That is a valid point....
Check out the AE-10’s violin sound, it’s incredible.
Because not everyone can play piano as well as they do a wind instrument
wow Middle Finger Pocket Cat T-shirt
"violin"
Just a professional musician making a Toy sound good, now go listen to how it sounds when played by an average joe, it sucks!

hi, may I know how and what device you connected it to? wired vs bt, windows/mac/ios/android?
why does it have to look so bad though. Seriously, roland aerophones are so friggin ugly - ill stick with my akai ewi
It doesn't even look ergonomic
it's all about the tone
Why not just buy a piano keyboard? It makes all these sounds.
Less portable
You’re a piano keyboard
Cause I play sax better than piano
Control of the notes intensity by how hard you blow. Also, easier to pick if you come from wind instruments.
This product was not made for people like you.
Looks like a toy sounds like a toy terrible !
Nice shirt
